You could also just walk or jog at a steady pace.
Playing tennis and basketball are great exercises.

Just do something you enjoy doing, then you won’t get tired/bored of doing it after a while.

Running on a treadmill has less resistance than outdoors, but is MUCH gentler on your joints. Most treadmills allow you to adjust incline, which can cause more of a work out. So yes, you can lose the weight on a treadmill…and you can use the treadmill year round, good weather or bad.

I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months. I currently run 3 miles, 4X a week. It depends on your speed, metabolism & the current weight you are at now. The heavier you are, obviously the quicker & most weight comes off. You will not get huge muscles, you will just looked “toned” which is more attractive to me as well. Again, it is also a mixture of diet & running that will make you lose the weight quicker. Eat more protein such as eggwhites, chicken, turkey & I like the Balance energy bar because it is only 200 calories & it gives me 15 grams of protein right after running. Protein builds lean muscle faster which in turn will also make you lose weight quicker. Good Luck to ya. : )

My wife used to tell me how much I would have to exercise in order to burn off what I was eating. We have to burn 3500 calories in order to lose one pound no matter what foods we eat! Do little spurts of exercise throughout the day if you can’t do it all at once. Run in place while you are on the phone or drying your hair; do leg lifts while you are cooking; swing one arm while you are using the other one, etc.

The fastest way to lose weight is diet and exercise. HOWEVER, because of my arthritis, I was not able to do the exercising and didn’t have the willpower to eat very little. So……I did my own version of the Atkins diet with my doctor’s knowledge. I kept my carbs to no more than 30 a day. I ate only what was on my list and as much of each thing as I wanted. I was never hungry because there was always food I could eat. I never cheated and I lost 90 pounds. This was six years ago and since then I’ve lost 10 more pounds.
My foods: meat, any kind and any amount; I used large lettuce leaves as my “bread” to make a sandwich.
Hard cheeses (cheddar, colby, etc.)
dill pickles
eggs, any style, any amount
My own soup: pork steaks, tomato juice, cabbage, red onions, celery, carrots, spinach, parsely (any combination, any amount) I always added a LOT of creole seaonings or crushed red pepper because I like the heat!!
Drinks: water, water, lemon water, iced tea, coffee, and any diet drink.
NO SUGAR EVER…there’s enough natural sugar in veggies.
I eat “regular” food now but limit sugar to almost never. JUST WATCH THE CARBS while you’re dieting; later keep them under control.
