ok my friend needs to lose weight soon since she going on vacation soon and her body is a lil curvy.

Ok, if you’re writing this for yourself you dont need to act like you’re talking about your friend. Anyways, eat lots of raw or steamed veggies, lean skinless boneless chicken, and do cardio workouts, and most importantly drink at least 2 liters or 8 glasses of water per day. Portion control is a big part as well. Its healthier to eat 5-6 small meals per day.
A saying I heard recently that really stuck with me, “Dont eat until you’re FULL; eat until you’re NOT HUNGRY”

Please fitness experts only – why do I gain and lose weight so easily?

I exercise 6 out of 7 days…I eat 1500 calories except on the weekends when I eat 2000-2500. However, I gain a pound when I eat this much when I only go over my caloric intake by 500 or 1000! I spend the rest of the week losing it through exercise and gain it back on the weekend when I eat no more than 2500 calories. I used to be able to exercise and eat 2400 calories without gaining a pound! I still do strength train and do cardio. The only thing that’s changed is that I have to do cardio longer (from 35 minutes to 45 minutes) to get results since my body is used to the machine and I do ab workouts and alternate between legs and arms 4 times a week. What is going on? If I don’t exercise one day, I put on a crap load of weight even though I eat normally (also, my period has stopped cause I think I’ve been over exercising).

I’m 5’2 and weigh 107 by the way with 18% bodyfat last time it was measured

It is most probably the fact that you have high Metabolism. Metabolism is basically how fast you can digest food. If it is high, (like yours is most likely) then you can get all of the cal.s you eat at a higher rate then other people can. Also because you are getting older, it affects you body more and may have varied from when you were slightly younger.

I hear people who run lose weight fast. But I really despise running, any other types of exercises that would have the same benefits as running? Thanks.

You could swim if you have access to a pool.
You could also just walk or jog at a steady pace.
Playing tennis and basketball are great exercises.

Just do something you enjoy doing, then you won’t get tired/bored of doing it after a while.

Will I be able to lose weight running on a treadill the same way as if I where to run outdoors?

I really don’t know my weight at this time but if I am correct my weight estimate is probably about 179. I want to lose at least 40lbs by next year summertime. I really need to tone my abs. I have to much in the ab department. My clothes don’t fit right, I really need help.

Running on a treadmill has less resistance than outdoors, but is MUCH gentler on your joints. Most treadmills allow you to adjust incline, which can cause more of a work out. So yes, you can lose the weight on a treadmill…and you can use the treadmill year round, good weather or bad.

i want to lose 25 pounds and i already started running i run 3 miles 3 days a week and then 1 mile the rest of the week.. i wanna know if will lose a lot of weight without getting huge muscles and stuff because that looks bad on girls?

I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months. I currently run 3 miles, 4X a week. It depends on your speed, metabolism & the current weight you are at now. The heavier you are, obviously the quicker & most weight comes off. You will not get huge muscles, you will just looked “toned” which is more attractive to me as well. Again, it is also a mixture of diet & running that will make you lose the weight quicker. Eat more protein such as eggwhites, chicken, turkey & I like the Balance energy bar because it is only 200 calories & it gives me 15 grams of protein right after running. Protein builds lean muscle faster which in turn will also make you lose weight quicker. Good Luck to ya. : )

Not without a prescription. Eating healthy (including portion control) and exercise is still the best way to lose weight. 1-2 pounds/week is considered reasonable healthy weight loss. You may lose weight a little faster than that at first as your body adapts to eating healthy and exercise. However, more long term rapid weight loss is more stressful on your body and less likely to be permanent.

Cut out sweets, seconds and junk including processed foods and things made from white flour. Use the whole grain version instead like whole wheat or multi-grain bread, whole wheat pasta (which I actually prefer), and brown rice. Drink only water. However, allow yourself one small cheat a week. This keeps you from feeling deprived and gives you something to look forward to the rest of the week.

Some people have no snacks. I find I get headaches if I don’t eat more frequently, especially when first starting to eat healthy and exercise. I’ll allow myself a healthy snack of a small piece of fruit or veggies. Just be sure no dressing or peanut butter with it. Studies have shown that it is better to have 3 medium size meals and 2 small snacks rather than just 3 large meals. This helps keep blood sugar more steady. Plus you won’t feel so hungry at meal times.

Try dividing you plate into quarters. First fill half with fruits and veggies, The other quarters are for the lean protein and whole grain carb. This will help limit your calories and ensure you get plenty of fruits and veggies.

Why are weight loss supplements dangerous for those with thyroid disease?

Why are most weight loss supplements dangerous for people who are suffering from a thyroid disease? Is this reason still substantial for those whose thyroid is regulated with medication?

They can be dangerous because alot of them contain ephedra. Ephedra can affect your heart rate and blood pressure, things that are already slightly unstable because its being controlled thyroid replacement hormones, such as synthroid.
