Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Laura asks…

What is wrong with these weight loss programs?

I watch these weight loss programs and there is something quite wrong about them that i can’t put my finger on. Also it’s weird that people watch them while eating chips and other junk food.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Well it’s a program. On tv. Even if they are real people on the program, they’re PAID to be there. For all anyone knows, the program could just be a bogus scam that only works for people already fit. And just watching them from home doesn’t necessarily mean that people will actually do whatever the trainer says. Like you said, people could just be snacking away thinking they’re losing weight when they’re doing nothing but jack.

Maria asks…

What is the likelihood of gaining back weight after New Direction ketosis weight loss program?

I am interested in starting the New Direction weight loss program which uses ketosis in order to maximize weight loss. By doing so and maintaining healthy eating habits, what is the likelihood of regaining weight?
The program is carefully monitored by nurse practitioners and my family doctor through blood tests and ekgs.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Quick weight loss does not work on any diet. The weight always comes back plus more. If you reduce your caloric intake by 500 calories per day you will lose one pound per week and most of the weight will not come back.

Carol asks…

What is the best weight loss program?

I having problem with my weight loss program, it doesn’t work, I want new weight loss program that can surely help me to achieve a sexy body.

weight loss cardiff answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Charles asks…

What are healthy eating habits without diets?

Diets don’t work. I have tried almost every diet. Even laxatives. I stay on a diet for a while and lose weight but then it gets old and I start with the old habits again. At times I eat out of emotions. Any suggestions?

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’m really glad you figured this out! It’s not about being on a diet, it’s about making healthy choices everyday so that you can manage your weight and keep your body healthy for life. Don’t punish yourself if you eat something you shouldn’t. Don’t deprive yourself of your favorite food. Just try to eat anything fatty in moderation, and don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t eat carbs, cheese, or anything else. You can eat whatever you like as long as you’re sensible about portions. I never limit what I eat, I just try to eat healthy foods. And if I have half a pizza every once in a while, that’s not going to phase me.

Some general guidelines:

Don’t drink sugary stuff. Soda, juice drinks, and alcohol all have empty calories and not much nutrition. So there’s not really a point in drinking them. You should also drink tons of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day). If you’re bored with water, make ice tea at home, and don’t add sugar (or add a small amount if you need to.) Pure juice is also OK – certainly better than soda, but it does have a lot of sugar.

Stick to lean dairy. Low-fat cottage cheese is a great snack because it has lots of protein. A serving of plain yogurt has 45% of your calcium. So don’t limit these, just buy the low fat kind. If you’re a cheese addict, try to stick to hard cheeses like parmesan, romano, and asiago because they generally have much lower fat contents – great sprinkled over a salad or pasta or eaten by themselves.

Eat tons of vegetables and fruit. Fruit is my favorite snack. Delicious, tons of vitamins, nutritious, filling, fiber-rich. Eat as much fruit and veggies as you like. Just skip the added butter or sugar.

Lean proteins. Avoid red meats. If you eat chicken, make it skinless and make sure it is cooked sensibly. If you make it at home, use olive oil rather than butter during cooking – the two oils may have the same fat content, but olive oil is much better for your heart.

Remove junk food from the house. Instead, stock up on healthy snacks. Dried fruit is a great one that provides excellent flavor as well as fiber and iron. Fruit is always good to have around. Nuts (raw ones, without added salt) are a great high-protein snack. They’re high in calories, but I don’t think anyone’s ever gotten fat from eating too many almonds to be honest, and they are full of good-for-you fats that keep your skin and hair supple. Fruit leathers are a good take-anywhere snack, as are low-fat string cheese. In terms of crackers, look for ones with whole grains, fiber, and low sodium.

Carbs are fine. Obviously if you eat a loaf of bread in one sitting, that may be going overboard. But I think it is fine to eat as many carbs as you like as long as they are eaten in conjunction with vegetables or fruits and a protein source. So, if you have crackers, have them with skim-milk cheese, an apple, and some nuts. If you have pasta, have it with tomato sauce, some sauteed veggies, and a sprinkling or parmesan. Brown rice is preferred to white, and whole grain breads and pastas and preferred to regular.

Cook as much of your own food as you can, or eat mostly raw foods. Processed foods are usually laced with preservatives, added fats, salts, etc. If you can make your own soup instead of eating it out of a can, that is better. Or if you are always eating frozen entrees, it would be better to eat the real thing. You can always prepare food at the beginning of the week and freeze it yourself, or just make a big batch of something and enjoy the leftovers. If you do eat frozen meals, supplement them with a piece of fruit or a salad so that you get something fresh in the mix.

Good luck!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mary asks…

What’s the best way to lose weight and keep it off?

I lose weight easily, but I also gain it pretty quickly. I’m 5’2 and 165 lbs. People tell me I look more like I am 150 lbs, but still I would prefer to be a healthier weight. I would like to tone my stomach more and increase physical activity -with the exception of running, so alternative cardio suggestions would be great!

weight loss cardiff answers:

It sounds to me like you may diet to lose the weight, and then once you drop weight you go right back to your normal eating patterns. Or maybe you are more physically active certain times of the year… (i apologize if my assumptions are incorrect, that is just they way it happens most of the time, regardless, the tips below should help in any situation)

The key to losing weight and keeping it off is through CONSISTENT diet and exercise. Its more of a lifestyle change then an actual “diet plan”. When you eat, think whole foods. In other words, eat foods prepared as closely to they would be in their natural state as possible. Foods like 100% whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, raw or frozen vegetables instead of canned, fresh fruits, lean proteins, etc. The extra fiber in the vegetables, fruits and whole grains will help keep your appetite in check, and it will also supply your body with long lasting, slow release energy so you wont get a spike in blood sugar after eating. Another good thing to do, is take the amount of calories you would normally eat in a day, and split that up over 5-6 meals. This again will help keep you from over eating, will keep your energy levels up and your metabolism firing. For a solid ratio, shoot for 50% carbs, 30% healthy fats (nuts, olives, olive oil, fatty fish, avacado), 20% lean protein.

For cardio alternatives, i would recommend a full-body circuit training program. That will help you attain total body fitness and is a little bit more exciting then jogging for most people (i prefer running but that is just me). Also you can cross train with some road or mountain biking, or swimming.

Your full body circuit should be something like this

2-4 Leg Exercises (squats, lunges, calf raises, leg ext, leg curls)
2-3 Chest exercises (bench press, incline press, dumb bell flys, dumb bell bench press, push ups, dips)
2-3 tricep (tricep ext, kickbacks, cable pushdowns)
2-3 bicep (standing barbell curls, preacher curls, dumb bell curls, concentration curls, hammer curls)
3-4 ab exercises (you can google these and come up with probably about 100 different ones, just go slow and in control, squeeze at the top to get the best results)

Shoot for a weight that you can do 10-12 reps for upper body, 15-30 reps for abs (no weight), 12-15 for legs. Start out with the lower end of the ranges i have listed, and work up to more lifts. Do the circuit 2-3 times through depending on your fitness level. Start with a 20-30 second rest between sets, as your fitness level improves, try less to no rest.

Good luck

Linda asks…

What are some good foods to eat to lose weight?

They say that if you want to lose weight quickly, you should burn off more than you consume. What kinds of food don’t have that many calories in them? ( Besides a salad. I just never could really like salads. )
I really like eating fruits like apples and bananas for snacks. What about for lunch and dinner?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi Danca,

It’s great you’re already starting to form healthy habits with your fruits 🙂 Losing weight is not as hard as people think, in fact, it can be pretty easy. Just cutting out SODA and sugary drinks from your diet COMPLETELY is just one awesome way to lose weight fast easy and healthily. (I lost 10 pounds alone with that one change) That along with the other tips I’m going to share below and you will be on your way to easily losing the weight and keeping it off.

As cliche as it may sound you gotta eat your veggies. They are amazingly good for you, also raw nuts (almonds are best) fruits, and 100% whole grain breads instead of white flours (white flour is very bad for you, read up on it if you get the chance!) Try and stay away from fried foods and fast food as much as possible, and other empty calories and foods that provide you no nutrients, like ice cream/candy/cake etc. Common sense goes a long way with what foods to eat and how to be healthy, so use it 🙂

Building healthy eating habits and keeping the weight off in the long term is what you should really strive for. Also, make sure you don’t count calories, it can drive you CRAZY! Just eat GOOD calories, and when your satisfied, stop eating. Try to eat more meals a day and portion them smaller, it really is proven to speed up your metabolism and burn fat way faster. If you mix this in with the other things I’ve shared, you will be on your way to easily losing weight and keeping it off.

Just be persistent, set goals, make little changes and stick with them. You will get to where you want to be. You really have to want it, I did, and I’m at my goal weight now. Please check out my blog, I think you will enjoy the information and my weight loss story. The link is below and best of luck hon.

Ken asks…

How do you lose weight easily and quickly?

I’ve got my prom at the end of June this year and I really want to lose a bit of weight so i look better in my dress, what is the best diet that is easy to do and helps you lose weight quite quickly?

Hope you can help 😀

weight loss cardiff answers:

There is no such thing as losing weight quickly. But you can lose weight by counting calories and walking everyday. Its hard to say how many calories you should eat and how much you should walk because you didnt give us any information about your body. I started working out 4 weeks ago and walked 20 minutes everyday and ate no more then 2000 calories for three weeks and then no more th en 1800 calories on my fourth week. It is now my 5th week and I’ve lost 20 pounds. But I’m extremely over weight so it kind of melts right off me. So I’m going to suggest eating no more then 1500 calories a day and walking 20 minutes every single day and you should lose weight. No need for a killer 1-2 hour work out if your not used to it because you will burn yourself out. If you already work out say 30 minutes a day, then bump it up to 35. I was just giving a rough estimate for you. Good luck!! Have fun at your prom 😀
