I play football and all also but i want to lose some weight and be in better shape before football season comes back around. And also to look better for summer days at the beaches and what not. What is the best diet where i can lose a lot of weight very quickly?

i am 15, 5’4″, and i know i’m overweight. it’s summer so i want to go back to school looking amazing and i can lose weight very easily. i don’t have access to weights or machines but i do have access to a pool and a track.

I think you know the answer to your questions as you bring up having access to both a pool and a track. Consider yourself lucky as most people don’t have the luxury of one of these, never mind both of them. Take advantage of them both. Both are great cardio workouts. Swimming will give your entire body a workout while developing long, lean muscles. Swimming is also great for your core muscles groups (abs and such). Use the track to speed, walk, jog and/or run. Again great cardio and fantastic for building and toning muscles specifically in the butt, thigh and hip area. By combining both methods you will be able to work out your muscle groups differently and you should see great results. I don’t know how many laps you can do in the pool or on the track so I don’t want to tell you how much to do. What I would suggest is start off slow but push yourself enough to ‘feel’ it. You have to get your blood pumping (heart rate up) and your lungs need to do a lot of work. Start today with something that is manageable and when you want to stop running, try going on for one more minute. Don’t worry about not doig enough right now. Focus on the fact that you are in the pool doing laps or on the track doing laps. You have to be willing to push yourself and it’s not always easy. You have to be willing to go a little further when all you really want to do is stop. That’s what will guarantee your success. It goes without saying that you need to have a good diet also. Soda is the worst thing you can put into your body so avoid it as well as sugary juice drinks. Stick to water. Also any processed food should be avoided. Stick to what’s fresh and natural. If you can’t find it around the perimeter of the grocery store, don’t put it into your body. And of course portion control. Bottom line is, it’s about lifestyle change. Not about dieting. You have to decide how you want to look and feel and go after it. Good luck and good health!!

I totally understand what your talking about my mother has been on Zoloft for over a year now and recently she has stopped taking it. My mother has gained close to 30 pounds since she stopped taking it!

This has really been a struggle for her since she has never had a weight loss problem!

Can apple cider vinegar water be detrimental to your health?

While reading a series of articles about weight loss I came across an article about 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar in 8oz of water.Then I bought some and made my own following the directions.My question is because it is also used for cleaning purposes can it erode or wear away my throat or stomach after long term use, and does anybody have any success stories.Thank You.

No it is very good for your health and most people find it hurts heartburn not causes it. I saw a site with many testimonies to vinegar helping their gerd and heartburn not the opposite.

The doctor who started the craze Dr Jarvis in the book in the 80s or so called Vermont folk medicine used it on so many of his human both children and adults and animal patients (he was also a vet) and found it only did good for the body. He went back to stufdy the hundreds of year old folk medicne in Vermont and doctor the people and animals.

He found that when used to try to change the urine from acidic to alkaline sick people always got well if they could get their urine to be alkaline Generally only produce is alkalizing and most grains, beans and animal products are acidifying.

You do want to be sure the apple cider vinegar you use is raw and not pasteurized as this kind is not really safe for the body.

Regular strength training keeps the muscles strong which can help to prevent injuries and chronic joint pain. If you are living with joint pain, strengthening the muscles that surround that joint will help to take pressure off the joint and therefore reduce pain. Below are some tips for weightlifting.

1)Use the appropriate weight. The right weight is one that allows you to do the exercise for 10 repetitions with good form. Using a lighter weight and doing higher repetitions may not be challenging enough to your muscles to get the most out of your routine. Using a heavier weight may cause you to neglect your form which can lead to injury.

2)Once you find a weight where you are fatiguing on the 10th repetition stay with that weight until you can easily do 12 repetitions. Then go up by two to five pounds. Go up a smaller amount for smaller muscles like your biceps and go heavier for larger muscles like those in your back or legs.

3)With all exercises exhale as you lift the weight and inhale as you lower the weight. For most this feels opposite to what the body wants to do. However if you inhale and then lift the weight you can actually raise your blood pressure. By exhaling as you exert yourself and lift the weight you keep the body calmer by reducing the strain.

4)Move slowly. Take a four second count to both lift and lower the weight. Weight lifting should always be done slowly and with control in order to most effectively isolate the muscle and to prevent injury. Never try to combine aerobic exercise and weightlifting such as walking with hand or ankle weights. When you are doing aerobic exercise the goal is to move fast enough to raise your heart rate. However holding weights when moving this quickly puts too much stress on shoulder, knee and ankle joints and can lead to injury.

5)Make the movements smooth. Never use jerking or bouncing movements when lifting weights. This puts too much stress on the joints and if you are moving quickly and bounce you are not effectively isolating the muscles.

Change your eating habits, no soda, no processed foods. Control your portion sizes. You can try apple cider vinegar. Search for it online. You can do exercise videos, join a team, go to the ymca, do dance, martial arts, swimming, there are lots of activities you can do! You will want to do more than 45 mins.
