Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

John asks…

Great ways to lose weight after pregnancy?

I am 39 weeks pregnant with my second child in two years, so I know that I have packed on quite a lot of weight.. I am scared to even look at the scales..

I was wondering, does anyone have any great tips for losing weight while breastfeeding a newborn, and taking care of a 13 month old?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Lol! Don’t worry. Just wait a few months til your 13 month old becomes a serious “toddler”. You’ll be running round so much the weight will fall off! ;o) I know. My daughter’s almost 3!

Breast feeding is definately the best way to quickly lose baby belly weight as you probably know. And just watch what you eat. Change to diet soft drinks and nibble on carrot sticks for example instead of crisps and chocolates (if like me you are sweet-toothed) and it’ll make a huge difference.

If you want, join a gym. Okay, I’ll admit it’s not for me, but hey, if you like the dreaded exercise, go for it! Leaving the kids with daddy or the grandparents etc for an hour or two whilst you go workout will do wonders for your sanity! Lol!

I’m due on the 7th of Dec and am also in need of losing a lb or erm… More than two!
I haven’t looked at the scales either. Doesn’t help that with my giant baby belly I couldn’t see what they say anyhow ;o)

Good luck xx

Lisa asks…

Can you still exercise when you are pregnant and get to a healthy weight?

How long can you excercise for when you are pregnant? Up until you are like 8 months? And can you lose weight while you are pregnant if you are eating a healthy diet and excersizing?

weight loss cardiff answers:

You should definitely check out his book http://www.informationsourcebook.com/pregfit

Everyone I know who got it loved it. I tells you how to avoid gaining unecessary weight and what exercises are safe during pregnancy. The exercises apparently also help you have an easier labor/delivery.

The book also helps you get back to your pre-preg wieght or better quickly after you have your kid.

Good luck!

Steven asks…

What can you do when you are pregnant and overweight?

I have been dieting and have lost 15 pounds so far this year. It’s been a lot of hard work and I have about 30 pounds to go to get to a healthy weight (also my pre-pregnancy weight!) Now I am pregnant with the third (surprise!) baby and I don’t want to lose the ground I’ve already covered! Can I continue to lose weight through a healthy diet and exercise without harming the baby? My thought is that since I’m already overweight, I should not need to gain extra weight while pregnant. Can I “replace” the bad weight with pregnant weight? Although I’d love to be lighter than I am now when the baby is born, that may be unrealistic, but I definitely don’t want to be heavier! Please help.

No sarcastic answers please.
Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

You’re about right in saying you can “replace” bad weight with pregnancy weight. At least that’s what I’m doing. I was about 30 pounds overweight prepregnancy, but I was working on eating more healthily and exercising more often. You will need an increasing number of calories since you’re pregnant, but as long as you make sure those are coming from healthy sources, you won’t gain much weight. It is okay to lose some weight in the first trimester, but after that my doctor doesn’t recommend it. I lost about 7 pounds in my first trimester, but I wasn’t really dieting to see the scale move. I was just making healthier food choices (apples instead of dessert, salad instead of hamburger, water instead of cola…you know what I mean!) and walking or doing my Fit and Firm Preganncy with Denise Austin DVD (lol) every day.

You’ll probably end up weighing more at the end of the pregnancy than you do right now, but not as much as if you’d just eaten whatever, whenever, and sat around like a bump on a log. I’m aiming for a 20-pound weight gain from my current weight (about 174). If you weight more than that, you may can get away with only a 15 pound weight gain. You’ll have to ask your doc to be sure. Just diet to be healthy, not to move the scale, and those pounds will be easier to lose postpartum!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Michael asks…

What is the best weight loss supplement?

I was curious as to the best and fastest weight loss supplements. I know they may not be healthy, so I do not want to do anything too risky. I have Crohns disease and a lot of other GI problems so I am not healthy anyway. I did see something on Dr. Oz about garcinia cambogia but not sure how well it works. Any suggestions? If you plan on responding with eating healthy and excercise is the only healthy real way to lose weight, just don’t respond.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I actually saw the same thing on Dr. Oz and got me some. I havent seen any weight loss difference with the pills yet, but I have only taken them a week and have NOT been exercising. (I’m moving to an apartment with a gym next week so I will begin then!) The pills have actually helped me change my diet. They do what they say they are going to do for the mental side that I can tell so far. I’m hungry less and no longer snack on foods all day. I don’t snack on foods when I’m bored anymore. I actually am motivated to eat healthier too. I’m not sure if its from the pills, or myself being aware of what I’m eating from taking pills 30 min. Before I eat. When preparing meals, I choose healthier options now and I don’t eat as much as I used to. I’m always at a happy full, never hungry and never feel bloated. And its easier for me to pass the local fast food joints without stopping for an ice cream or fries. So I like what they help me with because I am healthier. I’ll find out if they help with weightloss soon!

Helen asks…

What is the best weight loss supplement and work out routine for a new mom?

I am almost 6 months after giving birth. I had a cesarian section and that was my first child. I breastfed up until a few weeks ago, and all I did was gain weight from it; not that I mind because giving my son the best start in life is well worth it. I gained a whopping 65 pounds while pregnant and I was 130, 5’4 before I was pregnant and I have not lost 1 pound since. So, I’m still 195. I eat extremely healthy, I do not eat meat, only fish. I do take anti-depressants to help out with my PP depression. What is the best weight loss pill to help me? I know that no pill is a magic pill without exercise and proper diet, but I have tried OxyElite Pro in the past pre pregnancy but I never really had to lose weight so it never did anything. What are good weight loss supplements and a good workout plan that is realistic with a having a baby. I’d love to lose atleast 50 pounds by summer. Thank you

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight Loss supplements are just fraud methods. For many years they have lied to each of us. They actually love to see you fat so they can make more money. My advise for you is to plan your weight loss the natural way. It is quicker and best of all – safe for you. Find plans that offers realistic goals without starving.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The best weight loss supplement is water and as much sleep as you can squeeze in (I know, tall order). Lack of enough of both can lead to fat storage.

Eating “extremely healthy” is up for debate. Lots of people make that claim due to misunderstanding what healthy actually look slike. Look again to your protein balance to carbohydrates. Make sure you are eating a high-protein diet. Avoid things that say “low-fat”– they are NOT good for you, ever. That’s a common trap. Do consume healthy fats.

As an example, many vegetarians claim that their diets are wonderfully healthy just by right of all the veggies and such they eat. Bull. Do you know how many overweight and even obese vegetarians there are? I’m just saying, a diet needs to be balanced. If you’re not able to lose weight, it isn’t balanced in a way that works for your body. The general way to find the correct balance is to continue to increase protein/fat intake and decrease carbohydrate intake until you find a fat-burning level that works. Eating too few calories is more likely to lead to extra fat storage and a confused body rather than weight loss, too, so don’t restrict much. Only calorie-count if you suspect you aren’t eating enough or if you think you’re eating way too much.

When I first started losing weight 2.5 years ago, I was shocked to discover that the reason I had been steadily gaining was because I was eating too few calories per day and eating the wrong kinds at the wrong times. Balancing my diet properly toward higher-protein, eating MORE calories (yes, really!) daily and spreading them out throughout the day with the heaviest meals earlier on = steady weight loss.

Regarding exercise, I would recommend craigslisting for a jogging stroller (you can pick one up for $40-$50 instead of the over $300 they cost new) and downloading a Couch to 5K app to your phone. Running is the cheapest and yet most effective ways to lose weight–of course only when paired with a properly balanced diet. If you’re up to it, there are tons of wonderful workout DVDs these days. I love workout DVDs, but I’ll be honest that I didn’t much of them until after I’d joined a gym and experienced real classes. It’s hard to encourage yourself to really “do” the DVD correctly by yourself at home without stopping to take breaks too often. If you are capable of forcing yourself through whole DVDs– especially Jillian Michaels as a starter and then the Insanity types– you’ll see results. That’s something you can do at home with baby in the house.

I know with a new baby funds are probably tight, but at least spare a glance at your local gym options, too. When I got serious about losing weight, going to the gym made a big difference. Classes, access to trainers, being surrounded constantly by other highly-motivated people kicking their own butts really does change everything. And yes, I joined that gym about where you are now– when I was a 5’4″ 190-pounder. Yes, it’s very awkward the first couple of workouts, but then you get over it and feel right at home. 🙂 Many gyms tend to have special membership deals from time to time, even as crazy as “6 months for $20 a month” and stuff like that, and many gyms offer childcare on premises while you work out. So definitely consider joining a gym if you can find a good deal like that. It would be worth it.

It’s not AT ALL realistic to expect to lose 50 pounds by summer. It took me well over a year to lose that much weight with NO children and going to the gym 3 to 5 times a week. With a baby, and with hormonal challenges facing you, it’s absolutely not plausible to envision losing that much weight within just a few months. Be reasonable with your expectations and goals or else you’ll end up giving up when things don’t happen as fast as you want. Instead, expect small but steady weight loss week by week with occasional stalls along the way.

How to lose weight without losing it off your boobs/bum?

I’m on a diet and I’ve noticed that I’ve lost weight. The area I desired to lose weight from was my stomach area and it has lost from there but it has also lost from my bum and my boobs are a little smaller. How can I prevent my bum and boobs from going smaller whilst making the rest of me still lose weight?

Is that even possible?

Any answers appreciated.

To efficiently shed the weight, drastic changes inside a whole lifestyle must be made. Changes which suits you, helps you to grow to be a healthy person. Even so depriving yourself all of a sudden from your regular diet just isn’t a beneficial thought as it could lead you to depression and resentment. How to lose weight on stomach and legs?

I`m trying to flatten my stomach and lose weight on my legs before i go on holidays this summer. What are the best foods to eat? Exercises without going to the gym? What is the best way to stay motivated?

Thanks!!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Its really hard to control where you lose the weight – you can’t really decide, you’re body does. I would LOVE to lose weight on my legs, but I lose it first on my arms and chest. That’s just the way my body works. But, you can easily tighten you’re target areas. I do these exercises 3-5 times a week and they’re great for toning.

Hip & Outer Thigh Toners:
Lay on your left side with your legs straight out and toes pointed, so your body forms a straight line. Next, bend your left elbow and rest your upper body on your left forearm. Now, strech your right leg straight out in front of your body. Your left leg remains in its original position. Lift the right leg up and down slowly in front of you with your toes pointed. Lift the right leg 15 times. Complete a total of three repetitions of 15 lifts. Repeat entire process on the right side lifting the left leg. (do not lift any higher than 8-10 inches off the floor)

Inner Thigh Toners:
Start out on your left side, in the same position as mentioned in the Hip & Outer Thight Toners section. BUT, instead of stretching your right leg out in front of your body, cross your right leg over your left leg, placing your right foot flat on the floor. Your right knee should now be pointing straight up in the air. Now lift your left leg slowly to the height of your right knee and bring it down. Lift your left leg slowly, 15 times. Compleate a total of three repetitions of 15 lifts. Repeat entire process on the right side lifting your right leg.

Back of Thigh & Buttock:
While on the floor, position yourself on your hands and knees with your back straight. No arch. Extend your left leg up to the level of your buttock and slowly lower it down to the floor. Your leg should remain straight at all times with toes pointed. Do this to the count of 15. Compleate a total of three repetitions of 15. Repeat entire process using the right leg. (for added benefits, tighten or “squeeze” the muscles in your buttock when your leg is in the raised position.)

For your abs, you could either lie in plank position:

Starting Position
Begin this exercise by lying on your stomach with your forearms on the floor pointing straight forward, your feet together and your spine in a neutral position. Your feet should be touching or no more than an inch apart.

Action
Lift your body up on your forearms and toes, keeping your body as straight as possible. Maintain this position for as long as possible and challenge yourself to longer periods in the plank position. Try to hold the position for 60 seconds in the beginning, working your way up in 30 second jumps until you can hold the position for 3 minutes or longer.

Special Instructions
Don’t let your hips/knees drop, your butt raise, or shift weight to one forearm.

OR
Alternatively, you could do the side plank with rotation:

Get in a side plank position with your right forearm resting on the floor and your left hand behind your head. Your body should form a straight line from you shoulders to your feet. Keeping you left hand behind your head, slowly twist your torso towards the floor as far as you can without losing your baland. Try to get your left arm parallel to the floor. Return to the side plank. Do 3 sets of 8 rotations, holding the side plank between each rotation. Switch sides so you’re leaning on your left forearm and repeat.

I hope some of these helped a little.

Ken asks…

How to lose weight in specific areas?

I want to lose weight on my upper arms without becoming bulky.
I know that it’s harder to lose weight on targeted areas, but I was wondering what activities will be a BIG help?
I also want to lose weight on my thighs & stomach as well.
And firm up my face too.
Which activities focus on these parts?
Which exercises work the most? eg. running, biking, etc.
Can you list a few?

Thank you!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The only ways to lower your body fat percentage is through healthy diet and cardio exercise. No cardio exercise will specifically target one certain area though, you will lose fat throughout your body.

The most effective cardio exercises are running, swimming and bike riding. These will all burn 500+ calories an hour, so if you eat well and do these enough, the weight should come off easily. Good luck to you, and enjoy summer.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

William asks…

What is the best way to loose weight?

Over the year, I gained some weight that I would like to loose. Ive been watching what I eat, when I eat it and such. Before I go to bed I do crunches, leg lifts and some other ab workouts. I have seen a little weight loss but only about a pound or two.

If someone can help me loose weight with advice from eatting to working out.

weight loss cardiff answers:

1 Dietary control and exercise. It’s true what they say – all you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. You can quit reading this list now, you now know everything you need to know and didn’t need to fork over $500 for the privilege of me telling you the secret of losing weight. You don’t need to read a 4,000 page book, you don’t have to buy a tape series, you don’t need to stay up late at night to watch infomercials to understand this basic premise. It’s 100% true.

2 Change your lifestyle. If you’re calling this a “diet,” then you’re going to gain all the weight back (and more) within a few months of losing it. Diets do not work. Diets are temporary. When you change your dietary lifestyle, however, you’re changing your habits – and you’re putting yourself on track for long-term / continued success and weight maintenance. Don’t ever tell anybody you’re on a diet – ever. I’m speaking from experience, here – a reformed low-carber. Worked out well for a while, but ultimately failed because my entire lifestyle didn’t change (permanently).

3 Join an online support group. In my case, I created my own – FatBlasters. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends (new or old) is typically a smart move. I just heard about PeetTrainer, but didn’t know about it when I began down the road to weight loss. You have to know that others are out there for moral support – they know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures – share them. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find the one that fits you.

4 Take before and after photos. I know it sucks to see yourself as a chunky monkey (sorry, that’s what I called myself – if only to get myself motivated to meet my weight loss goal). However, there’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. The “after” photos are far more fun to capture and share, admittedly. Find yourself on Flickr! It’s good to see yourself how others see you. Do you like how you look? In many ways, Flickr helped me lose weight.

5 Hire a substitute teacher. Don’t reach for the brands you know and love immediately – or without thinking first. Eggs are “good” for you, but consider using egg substitutes instead (in fact, many restaurants will let you order lower calorie foods). There are countless “lower” alternatives for you to try. If something different doesn’t taste good, by all means – find a better substitute, or eat less of the original. In some cases, the substitute may be worse for you than the regular version of the product. The good news is, healthier choices are silently replacing their “normal” counterparts – and they taste just as nice.

6 Start reading labels. I know it sucks, but you have to do it – and there’s no way to avoid this tip. If you don’t know what you’re putting in your mouth, you’re flying blind. Don’t assume, either – triple-check the ingredients list and serving sizes. You must rely on yourself for this; nobody else is going to be able to lose the weight or do the math for you. It’s not that complicated a task, but it will require effort. If nothing else, just pay attention to the calorie count.

7 What’s so funny about bovines? If you like cheese, you must buy the Laughing Cow brand, and keep several of the suckers in stock at all times. The individually-wrapped wedges make for excellent snacks, and are wonderful when melted over just about anything edible. I’d be careful about straight-up American cheese, though – it’s oil, but not necessarily as good for you as (say) a slice of cheddar would be. I have yet to find something as calorie-light and filling as Laughing Cow (I don’t know how they do it).

8 Tell your family. You’re not going to lose the weight alone, even if you ARE alone in losing the weight. If you’ve got a family at home, talk to them about it – initially, not incessantly. Let them know what you’re going to do, and that you want (and need) their support. If you don’t let them know, you’re running the risk of them inadvertently sabotaging your efforts. You want them to help you get to your goal(s). You want them to share in your happiness when you’ve made it past a certain mark. Who knows? Maybe some of your new habits will rub off on them and they’ll become healthier people, too?

What is the name of the weight loss surgery?

I want to know the name of the weight loss surgery I think its new its not gastric bypass or the lap band theres another one what is it???

The formula for losing weight is easy – eat less and workout more – the difficulties arise when we really try to put that into practice! Robert asks…

Please tell me if this is a good workout routine for weight loss.?

I am a female approximately 20 pounds overweight and just joined a gym. We don’t have any personal trainers around here (very small town) so I have a routine online. It consists of 30 minutes of cardio then stretching then a strength workout with weights (3 sets of 12-15 repititions). I have no idea how much I should be lifting or how often I should do this for weight loss. Can anyone help? Thanks.

weight loss cardiff answers:

It’s hard to say, but if you feel it burning…then it’s working.

Your workout plan sounds good and every now and then you’ll want to change it up. The combo of cardio and strength training will definitely get you to your goal.

Just make sure your strength workout is spaced out…for example don’t work every body part every day. One day work on chest & triceps….another day do back & biceps….etc. I’m sure your online routine breaks it down for you.

You sound like you’re on the right track. Just remember…if the weight feels to easy, then bump up the weight. You want it to burn ….your last set should really burn!

It’ll help if you have a buddy to workout with….it’s a good support system and you can push each other.

Good luck!!
