Can i lose weight running a mile a day and only eating fruit and vegetables?

Don’t say to eat lean meats because I can’t cook that… im desperate to lose weight I’ve been eating 1000 calories a day and running and I haven’t lost weight. So will only eating fruit and veggies work?

The problem with your course of nutrition at present is you are eating fruit which is sugar. Yes, it’s natural and healthy sugar (like an avocado is natural and healthy fat) but it is still sugar. Your body needs not only fruits (in moderation) and vegetables (which you can have as many as you like) but it needs protein. If you cannot cook lean meats (is that for religious or cultural issues, or is this a lack of experience in cooking?), then you should take a look at working with tofu. Tofu and tofu dishes/recipes have come a long way and you have plenty of options.

When you deplete your body of certain proteins and carbs, your body goes into a “survival mode” and as you can read about in the second URL that I’ve included, it can be dangerous to your health. Improper dieting will not only burn through fat but muscle as well. Crash diets like the one you are on now will only hurt you.

I see these ads all over the internet and I guess Dr Oz reccomended it on Oprah. Have you tried it? Is it worth the money? Is there a certain diet plan you have to follow? I know there is no such thing as ‘miracle’ weight loss supplements I just wanna know if I spend the money will I actually see results?

This is a scam. I am not sure if the product works or not but don’t buy it from the online scam. It is NOT recommended by Oprah, despite the claims. I fell victim to the free trial claim, and within 2 weeks of ordering the free trials, my credit card was charged $80 a piece for each of those products! Canceling is not as easy as it seems, either, but after canceling the credit card I used and finally reaching the two separate companies I got it canceled.

Acai berries are really good for you, but go to a local health food store and buy some of the juice they sell there. Acai is already a natural cleanse so not sure if you really need the Total Cleanse product or not. I got them thinking it was only a trial and I had nothing to lose, but was wrong there. I do recommend the Acai berry, just don’t fall for the scam. 🙂

I’m going out with a girl in 2 weeks and want to drop some weight before then. I’m 6’1″, 265 lbs., 19 years old. My ultimate goal is to get to 225, but I’d be more than happy if I could get below 250 in 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

That being said, don’t rush the weight loss. The sensible thing to do is to limit your weight loss to two pounds per week. Even this modest weight loss goal isn’t easy. You must burn about 1000 more calories per day than you consume to make this two-pounds-per-week goal achievable.

In order to do this, you need to find some activity that you will stick with that burns a lot of calories. Running is excellent, but at your present weight, you will be putting a lot of stress on your knees and ankles. I would suggest swimming for about an hour a day. Try alternating sprints with lower paced swimming. Walking is good too, but you will need to do a lot of it to burn a lot of calories.

As far as diet is concerned, your first step should be to eliminate empty calories: fried fast foods, cakes, candy. Soda, donuts, and the like. Eat plants, not food made in plants.

All my best to you in your weight loss goals, but don’t rush it. It took you many years to get to your present weight. Don’t try to shed it in a few short weeks.

Alright, I’m 5’6 and 190 lbs I want to start going to the gym. I’ve already lost 7lbs in the past 2 weeks by just doing my own thing, but I figure going to gym on a consistent basis will be better and will help me lose weight quicker… So are there any specific machines that I should use? I don’t want to try and gain muscle because that would be stupid. I just want to lose weight.

im 22 and weigh over 15stone im 5ft 5 and im a size 20. This is the fattest i have ever been and i feel so ugly and disgusting, i found a photo from when i was 19 and i looked so pretty on it i feel like im not that person anymore and feel like that its so unattainable to ever be that person again, ive always struggled with my weight but ive never been this fat. Im 23 in May and desperatley need to lose weight before this, although im not stupid and i know im not going to lose that much in that short a space of time. Ive been to all the slimming clubs and even the doctors but its not working, i used to make myself sick and really feel like im gonna do it again because i just dont lose weight quick enough on them, i cant afford to go to the gym and feel like people are laughing at the fat cow trying to lose weight if i go running then get puffed out after such a short space, i dont want to hear about crash diets are bad, i want to hear about crash diets that will give results.

Yeah you will loose weight on a crash diet but as soon as you come off it you will put all the weight back on.

If you want to do it the sensible way(the only way that will work and be permenant) . You need to eat healthy food like fresh fruit and veg, carbs and protein. Don’t skip meals because it will only make you hungry and binge on bad foods. Eat one main meal of breakfast, lunch and dinner and if you feel hungry between those times snack of healthy snacks like fruit.

Never miss breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day and really sets you up for the day ahead. If you miss breakfast your body goes into starvation mode and hangs onto the fat and it will also make you binge later on.

Drinking lots of water helps keeps your energy levels up, makes your skin nice and clear, takes away bad mood swings, improves concentration and helps you loose weight.

Exercise is really important as it helps you burn calories. You sound unfit so if you start running you will get puffed out in a short pace of time.You need to get fit to be able to run. Start walking in the park for an hour and once you feel fitter start power walking( a form of fast walking) and gradually build up your fitness. Include walking into your daily life. Walk everywhere. Walk up the stairs to your flat instead of the lift, up the stairs at work/college/university, get off earlier on the bus etc.

You’re 23, you should be out enjoying yourself and feeling good about yourself. Its such a shame not to do anything about your weight if its making you so unhappy.

I know you said you went to the doctor about your weight, but how about going to the doctor and tell him/her that you have made yourself sick in the past and sometimes feel like doing it, maybe they can recommend you to a specialist.

Lots of people have been your weight and managed to loose weight, so it’s possible for you to do it to. Don’t give up whatever you do and if you end up binging on some bad food don’t beat yourself up about it, everyone has bad days.

Maybe not unhealthiest but quickest way, besides dieting and exercising which I already do. I know the risk I just need to know ways you or people you know lost weight quick in 3 or 4 mos. The most you’ve lost in a month or all together…again I do exercise daily and watch what I eat I’m just in major help to lose it quick quick.
