Everything is all about discipline. YOu are still lucky, you are aware of how you weight. At that age, it is very easy to lose some pounds…don’t wait til you get older…ym 29, and I think am about 25-30 lbs. Overweight, and its not easy anymore to lose some pounds…the older you get the harder it gets!

This is the one I have used to lose 20 pounds.

1.) Eat right- That is the only way to get good results. None of the “no carb” “no fat” bull$hit. You need a healthy amount of food. About 1200-1500 calories a day intake if you are trying to lose weight. 1500-2000 a day if you are trying to maintain. You may need to eat more than that if you are active in sports or other things. Make sure to cut out soda, even diet soda, and candies.

2.) Exercise- Here we go. To lose weight or tone up, you need two kinds of exercise.
Cardio- This is any exercise that gets your heart rate up, and keeps it up for more than 30 minutes. Running/ Jogging, Bike riding, Swimming, Sports, and cardio machines are great ways to get cardio. You can also try different workout videos. Try renting some first, to see if you like it, and then if you do, maybe purchase it.
Strength- This is any exercise that helps you tone up. Crunches, pushups and many exercises you find that target certain areas are probably Strength exercises. If you are trying to tone up a certain part of your body, visit www.toneteen.com . They have many exercises for target zones.

3500 Calories is equal to one pound. This means if you consume 500 less calories a day, workout for till you burn 500 calories, or do a combnation of the two, you will lose 1 pound each week. Say you cut out 300 calories of food, then you need to burn off 200 a day. Simple, isn’t it.

For all of you people that want fast weight loss, it isn’t going to happen. Durring the first 1 or two weeks it is possible to lose about 4-5 pounds in a safe and healthy way. It is mostly water weight. After the first week or two, it is very unhealthy to lose more than 2 pounds a week. Doing so can cause painful Gall Stones in your Gall bladder.

There is no fast way to weight loss that will be permanent. What I have written here is a fool proof way to lose weight. Watch what you eat and exercise. If you want to come on here, saying that you have tried exercise and eating right, and it didn’t work, you did it wrong.

Can’t lose the weight?

I’m a teenager and have been working out with my parents for the last two months. My dad seems to lose weight easily, but my mom seems to struggle. She is doing all the right things: eating the right foods, doing hard cardio workouts, and lifting weights. Is there any other options that can help her out?

It’s great you want to help out your mom! Women do tend to struggle more than men.

I’d suggest she needs to take another look at her diet and training.

Losing 1-2lbs a week is the best way to go. This way, you are losing mostly fat, rather than water and muscle. Faster weight loss is not better, nor is it sustainable.

Diet should be what you look at first for weight loss- this is what will enable you to drop fat. Try a balanced diet made up of mostly natural whole foods, with high protein, moderate carbs and moderate fats.

You need to know how many calories you burn- you can use an online calculator for a rough estimate. Aim for 10-20% calories fewer than you burn daily (too large a deficit will be counterproductive in the longer term).

Don’t worry about complicated diets or cutting things out. You can enjoy anything in moderation, as long as the majority of your diet is healthy.

Base your meals around:

Lean protein (e.g. Chicken, tuna, lean beef, fat-free cottage cheese, egg whites)
Wholegrains (e.g. Wholewheat bread, oats, bran cereals, rice)
Healthy fats (e.g. Nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado, salmon, whole eggs, flaxseed)
Fruit and veg

And drink lots of water.

Second in importance to diet, is heavy resistance training- this is what will allow you to preserve muscle so you look ‘toned’ and defined once you’ve dropped the fat (rather than just a smaller version of how you look now, with the same bits you’re unhappy with). More muscle also means a higher metabolism, so you definitely want to hold on to, or increase the muscle base you have, for fat loss.

You need to work ALL your major muscle groups- you can’t spot reduce.

Then you can look at extras like cardio to help create a calorie deficit. But cardio is by far the least important of these three, and you can lose fat effectively without it.

Make sure you’re getting at least one rest day a week with no exercise at all.

Im 15, 121lbs ( I think, I measure in stone) or about 8st 8kg. I’m very chubby although not overweight. I’m getting really depressed as I try to be healthy and go jogging etc. but then I binge on unhealthy foods. Also my face isn’t very attractive so the combination has made my self esteem plummet. I will be spending a lot of time this summer in a bikini so can someone suggest a way to lose weight and tone up before July? I’m 5’5 and I have a fairly healthy diet (lots of fruit) except I binge on sugary foods ( sweet tooth). I exercise about 4 times a week by walking dogs for about 1 hour, but I am unfit and get out of breath easily. A diet plan would be good as I don’t have a clue! I really need to tone up my legs and especially my stomach.

Ok, here’s what I would do. Eat what you want in small portions. Try to stay away from junk food some though. Or you can use foods with less sugars and such. But really that is the key. EAT CONSCIOUSLY! If you eat slowly, and give your food time to settle, you will get full faster, and eat less. It really does work. Also, just keep exercising. Start out with something a little less extreme. Walk around the block or something for a while. Also, do not starve yourself. If you do, your body begins to eat away muscle and such, which leaves you very weak and easily tired. Just try this. I hope it helps you a lot!

Should I get rid of these weight loss supplements?

I have Triple Strength Fish Oil, Mega T Green Tea with Acai Berry and Hoodia extract pills, I also have over the counter Magnesium, Reservatrol diet pills, and Chromium Picolinate pills.

Someone told me that it’s hard to burn fat because the liver is trying to get rid of all the weight loss medications, workout supplements…so I thought about it and took what was said on this youtube video into consideration.

Should I get rid of these pills or keep them?

That’s a lot of supplements, but nothing bad for you in that mix. The fish oil, green tea and magnesium have positive health benefits beyond weight loss. I’d be suspicious of the diet pills.

I want to know if anyone knows any safe effective weight loss supplements that aren’t too expensive. If possible ones that you could get at a store such as Walgreen’s. Can you lose weight without much exercise?

I am for sure overweight. My BMI tells me I’m obese so it’s hard for me to workout without feeling like going to pass out. I can easily walk and ride my bike but can you lose weight without much exercise?

Start out by walking 30 mins in the morning then 30 mins at night everyday. And biking great if you can get some of that in too!

So overall just start out slowly and after 3 weeks maybe get into walking 2 min, jog 2 min, etc. Routine. You’ll be slowly getting fitter and you’ll be able to do more difficult cardio activities.

Maybe while you’re starting out walking, you could jog/ run for a minute during this time. You have to push yourself a little to get where you want to be.

So yes, you can lose weight but eventually you’re going to have to work your way up to more intense workouts to lose some of the very stubborn weight.

Do this simple exercise routine, eat well and drink lots of water and the pounds will just start slipping off!

Just exercise and a healthy diet.. What i do is take food with me everywhere I go, except I only take healthy snacks, like carrots for example. I pretty much eat all day long, that way when I get home I dont purge myself on fatty foods, and my actual meals are smaller portions as well. Any type of exercise is great. My preferred choice is Pilates. Its hard, but I always feel very good after wards, and it would help with your love handles as it has a lot of focus’s on the stomach and middle area. Good Luck, and remember loosing weight healthily takes time, its not a quick thing.

Hey, I’m 13 yrs old and I’m WAAAY overweight.
I’m 5 ft 3 and I weigh 145 pounds.
I have big arms (muscular) but my stomach is big. Too Big.
I go to school everyday at 6am and get home at 3:30pm so I don’t have a great deal of time for exercise. I want to lose weight easily and fast without resorting to drugs. Some easy-to-make foods for my diet would be a great help and some exercise routines that I can do lose all this fat. Any Information would be great help.

I know what u mean, u dont have the money for stuff. Try cutting out ur sugar, like no cookies, no cakes and no soda. Write down everything that u eat. Then figure out how many calories that are in things and write it next to them. Keep ur calories under 1200 a day. Read the box of what u wanna eat. Like a cup of cheerioes is like 100 calories (i am guessing here), plus the milk..but how much to u eat a bowl ful? 400 or 500 calories?

Next exercise!! Ride ur bike, dance to music in ur room, watch youtube and search or an exercise video to do. I like hip-hop abs..and on youtube it is free!! Maybe look for a sport u can do at school that will keep u active..then u can workout and meet other’s ur age.

I have lost 90 lbs..by living by 1 rule, burn MORE calories in a day then i eat.
