David asks…

how old do you have to be to buy weight loss supplements?

is there a certain age restriction? is there a more natural route to weight loss pills or anything that helps speed up weight loss along with exercise?

weight loss cardiff answers:

That’s a big no no.
Supplements are very bad for you.
They can cause heart complications and damage
to the liver. It can also cause hair loss.

Those are just a few that i know off the top
but there’s plenty more.

Chris asks…

Is it legal for a minor to buy weight loss supplements, weight loss milkshakes, etc?

I wanna loose weight and I am just wondering if they would sell these things to me or not. No lectures on why you think I shouldn’t do it, I already know its a dumb idea but I need to loose the weight I put on. Thank you. =)

weight loss cardiff answers:

There are some weight loss drugs or supplements that are illegal and cannot be bought from local pharmacies….

Meridia is one of them…

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Sandra asks…

what is the quickest form of exercise to lose weight?

Want to lose weight quick without dieting much and im just wondering which form of exercise would be the quickest to lose weight doing, what do you all think? :p

weight loss cardiff answers:

There are a thousand different ways and reasons to lose weight and all of them would do no good for you if you didn’t have the mindset to actually lose the weight. I can’t count how many times I asked myself how I could lose my weight, just wasting my time talking and never acting on anything. Then last New Year’s came by and I promised myself that I was going to lose all the weight it took to see my abs. I started out weighing 298 pounds. A few weeks passed and I tried a lot of crappy diets and fake fat loss pills that did nothing for me but empty my wallet and made me ask myself if I was stupid. I eventually came across a program at http://x.co/cxC7 and I watched their video on weight loss and decided to try it out and see what it could offer me. Now, it didn’t shave off 60 pounds the first week like everything else guarantees but those things didn’t either. After 9 months passed I walk into my bathroom and stepped onto my scale to see what I weighed. I weighed in at 170 pounds. I had lost 128 pounds in 9 months through my hard work and dedication. I was looking at my abs for the first time in my life and I was proud. That hasn’t changed today either, I’m still proud and I work hard to keep it that way. The most important thing to remember is you can never give up and you must stop letting your weaker side be the boss of you and gather the resolve to finally do what you want. I wish you the best of luck in your journey to lose weight and hope you stick with it.

Carol asks…

Is it possible to lose weight by eating whatever you want and exercising 5 times a day?

eating whatever i mean whatever you want, as much meals per day, portions etc. but still lose weight because you exercise a lot? if yes HOW!?
if no, how can you lose weight? QUICK?
sorry i meant 5 times a WEEK 😉
i could never manage 5 times a day!

weight loss cardiff answers:

It is, depending on what it is you want to eat. Really to properly and efficiently lose weight you need to follow some sort of diet. Also with exercising you may not seem to be losing weight, since muscle weighs mroe than fat, but if you compare a picture or such you will see a difference. The major thing here is nothing is good in excess, though you could technically go on a eating rampage, then an excercise rampage, I HIGHLY recommend against it. I have found a lovely book describing in detail the type of things that help and hurt you, and the excercise. Unfortunately it did cost me $12.95 but was DEFINITELY worth it. I’ll leave yall the link in my sources.

Donna asks…

How can I lose weight, I’m 118 lbs and almost 5’4?

I used to weigh 113, but I weigh more now. So I want to lose 5 lbs, but don’t want to work out harshly that I’d be exhausted. I work out for 4 days a week for 20 minutes per day. Somehow, I can’t stop eating junk food. I keep eating chips and lots of chocolate, so I think this is why I gain weight. Do you have any easy weight loss tips and how to be able to resist those fatty foods?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss is an overall process. You need to think about many factors. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

Richard asks…

Lose weight while preparing for an important exam?

I have a very hard professional exam in a month, so obviously my primary mission is studying. But at the same time I’d like to lose some weight. What I’m worrying about is that if I go on a diet, it’s not be good for my brain; thus poor concentration and lack of energy may be some serious consequences.
I am not fat at all, yet I look strong, athletic… My current diet is pretty healthy, I think. I don’t normally eat meat, even though I am not a vegetarian. I must eat lots of veggies and fruits everyday, and drink a lot of tea or water. No snacks. And I am extremely picky on how much calories my food has; go with low-fat/fat-free food always. Plus, I work out like around 3 times a week, 40 minutes each time on treadmill.
I have been doing this since the past 3 months when I was in college. I feel tired easily, is it because of my diet? Now I really need a healthier weight loss plan which can provides me with enough energy while I am preparing for the exam.

Aiming at losing 5-8 pounds in one month.
I am a female, 20-year-old, 175cm in height, 140 pounds.

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you have exams coming up, take it easy on the diet, the last thing you want is a foggy brain when taking an exam. If you are tired before, it’s probably due to studying, so up your calories a bit maybe 100-200 while keeping your exercise the same. Fish oil and multivitamin also helps.

Donald asks…

how can I change my diet and will this workout program help me lose weight?

I had my 27th birthday today and placed my life into retrospect. This is going to be a quite detailed entry of things about me and diet stuff.

From age 16-21 I skateboarded everyday and never less than 4 hours. Doing tricks mainly but also skating around bikepaths, roads..etc. My body weight was at 185-195 then. I had a good body just never ‘worked out’ with weights or anything to achieve a 6 pack or larger arms/legs.. skateboarding that all for me… besides the abs they were flat but not defined.

I had quit smoking cigarettes with the help of Chantix (best pill ever) but it seems I quit skateboarding at that time also. I had noticed doing it less and less, so from age 22-25 I quit skateboarding. When I was 24 I started truck driving and got really fat. I weighed 275 lbs. After weighing myself and having a total meltdown about my weight I quit driving trucks.

I was super depressed and started rollerblading on bike path, and walking. I even started to ride my skateboard again but would tire from long distances. I was able to drop down to 230 easily. I would say in a month or two. The next year, I became vegetarian with my girlfriend and over the course of a summer I went from 230 to 220. So not much difference from not eating meat.

I weighed myself today at 240 and am ready to change my body. Right now my diet isnt the best. I normally drink 4 cokes a day, or maybe a few red bulls. Late at night I find myself snacking out. Over the past few nights instead of eating junk I would eat a banana and almonds. It worked for two nights in a row, but last night I ate 2 donuts. I need to know what I can eat late at night, or even to snack on to help lose weight. Are bananas, apples and almonds/nuts good? What about peanut butter?

Over the past 2 months I’ve been skating 3-4x a week never less than 3 hours. I have a warehouse I rent that I can skate in during the cold.

I’m thinking about using this total gym xls my father owns and do:
curls
chest flies
seated rows
kneeling rows

and then also doing squats when im off the machine. I think holding a total of two 40lb free weighs while I do squats might help over normal no weighted squats. I dont know.. i know nothing about the traditional ‘workout’.

So what else can I do to lose weight quickly? I’m tired of being a fatass. I feel like a fatass but my ex’s always say… no you look good your stomach isnt even bad. It seems most of my weight is around my stomach and hips.

Should I alternate days? M,W,F,Su be skateboarding, and T TH Sa for total gym/squats?

please help me change my life. Ive been sleeping alot and i think its because im depressed about my weight
i dont know if i can jog that long. i jog for half a mile and my legs are on fire lol

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hey 🙂
First off, i dont think skateboarding is a great exercise to lose weight
You should do an exercise like jogging or swimming. This will burn fat 🙂
You want to do exercises like the ones you listed (curls, etc) aswell as pushups, pull ups, crunches, etc (You need to try and work as much muscle groups as possible).
And your diet needs to be fixed if you want to see changes! 4 Cokes and redbull is awful!!! That will be making so much more fat! You need to cut down! What you should eat are foods like: fruit, veg, wholemeal bread, pasta(brown), rice(brown), lean meat (chicken), eggs, nuts, etc. So bananas, apples and almonds/nuts is all VERY good! And peanut butter is pretty good too!

So cut down (or completely stop) on drinking coke! And dont drink alcohol!

Maybe try something like this..
Mon- 1hour jog + 40mins of weights, pushups, etc (arms and chest workout)
Tue- 1hour jog + 40min of crunches and squats, etc (Legs and abs workout)
Wed- 30min jog
Thur- 1hour jog + 40 min of arms, shoulders and chest workouts
Fri- 1 hour jog + 40 min of legs and abs
Sat- 30min jog + back exercises
sun- rest

that will get you in amazing shape 🙂

Edit- Haha well jog for as long as you can then :-), even jogging for 15 minutes a day will help 🙂 but will see slower results 🙂
