Mary asks…
What are some important components of a successful weight loss plan?
Hello Everyone,
I would like to know what are some good ways to help people lose weight?
For instance, if you were to create a weight loss program what would be something that you would make sure to emphasis or implement?
Thanks in advance for your time.

The most critical aspect of a weight loss program is selecting foods that are nutritionally rich and lower in calories.
I lost 80 pounds by simply changing to a low-fat whole plant based diet as described by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr. I do exercise, but I learned through experience that diet is far more important than the level of activity. That being said, I do exercise moderately for about one hour each day. Weight training is also a good way to build muscle rather than fat. The volume of tissue created with the same number of calories is seven times more for fat than muscle. I’d rather have an additional pound of muscle rather than seven pounds of fat.
I also learned that maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle change. You don’t keep weight off by joining Weight Watchers for one year. Most victims of commercial weight loss programs learn that they cannot keep the weight off for more than about a year or two. Atkins and calorie restricted diets also do not work for the vast majority of people. (Kolata)

What’s the most effective weight loss program out there?
So I’m trying to loss some serious weight before my wedding date, which is 7 months from now. Can anyone recommend a good weight loss program?

Go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m.
I know a woman who lost 60 pounds a month on it. She did nothing else!

Why does the weight loss program discourage exercise?
I’m on this weight loss program and they say not to exercise too much since I’m only eating 1200 calories. why do they discourage much needed exercise? Isn’t it healthy?
I want to work out 5 times a week one hour a day on the elliptical and I know I will have better results…do you think this is a good Idea, I’m also a bit used to it
Yeah…I thinking money…..
weight loss cardiff answers:
They say a body needs 900 calories (minimum) to function properly. If you are burning more than 300 calories in exercise, there’s your reason…
I would suggest you increase your caloric intake by how much you plan to burn off (on the treadmill/elliptical/whatever)
consult your trainer and tell them that you want to lose weight but you also want to be fit. Compensate with food what you lose in the gym!
GOOD LUCK
