Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Sandra asks…

How to lose weight while pregnant?

I need to lose at least 30lbs before delivery for both mine and the baby’s benefit. Doc says its okay for a woman my size to lose weight while pregnant because I’ve got enough fat stores to fulfil the baby’s caloric needs. I’m due 11/7 so I’m 6 weeks.
Oh, also I was in the process of losing weight until I found out I’m pregnant. I was using medifast(can’t continue because ketosis harms the fetus)now, that I’ve stopped using medifast, I’ve already picked up 4lbs! How do I reverse this gain and continue going DOWN the scale?
Thanks everyone!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’m in my fourth month of pregnancy. I don’t know my weight for certain, but I think I’ve stayed steady. My pre-pregnancy clothes still fit, and despite the baby pudge in my abdomin and my bigger breasts, I don’t notice much difference. (Well, one of my bras doesn’t fit anymore, but others do and I have some bigger ones from when I was bigger that work, too. However, my other bras still fit, especially since one has stretchy cups that I wear under tank tops which I wear under blouses.)

Even before my pregnacny, I stuck with whole natural foods, eating them as close as to what God made them. It’s not only good for me, but good for my baby as well. I didn’t get in the habit of using the treadmill. (It broke before the 30 days return expired, so my husbnad returned it. It worked out. It’s more or less spring so I’ll start outdoor walking again and the money turned out to be needed for repairs on my husband’s car. As I told my husband when he made the comment about the money, God blesses how God sees fit. I digress.)

I also stay away from most processed, pre-made food. Exceptions include my veggie burgers and chick’n; The whole wheat bread that’s in the fridge (I should make some more, but I was sick last week and we were out so we picked some up at the store; I buy the light kind where the corn syrup listing is lower on the list) cold cereal (that I have with vanilla soy milk) and some canned foods, like the Progresso soup. (It’s healthier than Campbell’s, no corn syrup, and it tastes better. It’s great for lunches or dinners when I have no energy or desire to cook.) I also have canisters of quick oats, but it’s just oats that are lightly processed (over regular oats) so they cook quicker. (Instant oatmeal is more processed and has stuff added to it for the flavorings an preservatives and is more expensive anyway.)

I don’t eat meat or dairy or eggs and I generally stay away from fried foods, unless I know it’s natural, i.e., stir fry.

If your doctor is agreeable to you losing weight, then talk with him/her. S/He will have suggestions. Also, there are some pregnancy boards (iVillage comes to mind) where you can also talk with other moms who would have suggestions. Also, post this on the pregnancy Answers section and request site links, too.

Anyway, I hope I’ve been of some help.

Nancy asks…

What is the safest and healthiest way to lose weight while pregnant?

A person who is a 100 lbs overweight who needs to lose weight for health reasons just found out she is pregnant. Is there anyway to eat healthy and continue losing weight while pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

You need to discuss this with your doctor. Dieting is not recommended during pregnancy. You’ll have plenty of time to shed the extra pounds after the baby is born. I would suggest reading The Schwarzbein Principle and The Schwarzbein Principle Cookbook. You can eat delicious nutritious meals and lose weight and it may be something your doctor will approve of during your pregnancy to keep from gaining excessive weight. Yoga, with your doctor’s approval can be helpful too. You want to give your baby the best start you can and maintain your health as well. It will all be worth it when you hold your new bundle of joy for the first time! You may find the following website helpful:

David asks…

Is it safe to lose weight while pregnant in your first trimester?

I just found out I am pregnant with #2!!!! We are very excited about this! However, I am worried about being a bit overweight and carrying a pregnancy. Is it safe to purposely lose weight while pregnant in your first trimester? TIA!!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Its definitley not recommended to go on a diet or deliberatley lose weight while pregnant. You need to take in extra calories (about 300 more a day) for nutrition for your baby and for you while your body is going through this serious transformation. Wait until after the baby is here to worry about your weight issues.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Jenny asks…

how can I lose weight easily and effectively?

I have gained almost 60 lbs in the past year. I was pregnant and miscarried at 6months. 🙁 I have tried losing weight. but for some reason I cannot, i am on the ACAI diet right now, i eat healthy. Does anyone have any advice for me?

weight loss cardiff answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

how to lose weight easily but effectively?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi buddy, I am happy to answer your question. Just do heavy works and take some physical exercise. You can follow some exercise for eg. Walking, jogging and cycling. Yoga is the best way to lose your weight and maintain the body slim till the life end. Avoid fats food and take nutrition foods also. Stairs is the best and go up down in the steps.

While I surfing in the net I visited some sites about physical fitness and yoga exercise. For more information about physical fitness, yoga exercise and diet control just view these sites.

James asks…

Methods and techniques to lose weight easily without outdoor exercise or buying slimming stuff.?

Only include does you know that work and tested. Also take in note I go to college. I want to lose 10 kg for about 2-3 months. but how? is it a lot to ask for?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Get a mini trampoline and use it for jogging while you watch tv or listen to music. Do not drink soda, colas, pop or eat chips, crisps or sweets etc. Get small plastic hand weights and use them while on the trampoline the more muscle you build the more fat you burn.

Ken asks…

How can I lose weight quickly and easily without exercise or dieting?

Ok, this question is a joke. It’s for all the people who ask how to lose 50 pounds in a week. It’s for the people who think there is a magic way to become slim without any effort. Well I have news for you. If it was easy, there wouldn’t be any fat people around, would there? How many people do you see with toned bodies and visible abs? Not many, because it’s hard work! If you are overweight just remember, it took a while to gain the weight so it’ll take some time to get rid of it. It can be done, just lower calories and carbs to below maintanence and do some cardio every day. If you don’t go to a gym just walk or jog in a park or something. Do it EVERY day, and stick to the plan, and the fat will melt away. It will take time though. I know a girl who weighed 350 pounds, and now she weighs 140. She did by doing cardio twice a day, every day, and eating close to zero carbs. It took her under a year.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Funny, I checked this question out to blast you..LOL. The simple fact is, there is no easy way. If it were simple, everyone would be thin and fit. And it goes to show you, with hard work, dedication, and a complete change of mindframe, you can turn your life around. Never give up on yourself.

They are losing fat and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less space. They might possibly be doing a strength training program as well.

Mandy asks…

Can anyone give me some good tips to overcome weight loss obstacles while in college?

I’m 5’3″ and currently 136 pounds, measurements roughly 35-28-38. I’m certainly not obese but I know from the past that I feel amazing in the 120’s weight range, and I’m definitely not happy with the way I feel and look right now. I’m a weight watchers devotee and have the computerized food log and fitness log (tracks measurements/weight/bmi/fat%) all ready to go, but I need some tips concerning some serious obstacles which have had me yo-yoing in weight since September.

*two free dining halls only source of food–the other, healthier places on campus offer pricey meals on a limited secondary budget of $200 per semester-dining halls generally offer pizza, burgers, eggs, bacon, and an “international” station which serves unfortunately delicious meals of 500-700 calories!
*there is a deli station, but i became quickly bored with their very bland sandwiches and my two former favorites, tuna sandwich and roast beef sandwich
*i’ve tried a couple times, but i’ve never been able to enjoy eating salads-there is a salad station, but it’s not self serve, and i have no idea what tastes good together with what dressing, etc
*the cold weather and the sloppy slushy outdoors makes me generally reconsider bundling up and walking to the campus gym as much as i know i need it

My best friend on campus (and actually kinda my only close friend, I’ve always been held back by my insecurities which I hope will be helped by losing weight) will be my roomie next semester, and she’s been a serious unconscious saboteur of my weight loss….she loves getting desserts after both lunch AND dinner, and always asks me to go with her to check out the dessert tables, if I don’t, she gets disappointed or makes fun of me…I’ve basically joined her in that bad habit where I found myself eating one or two chocolate cupcakes a day! I know she knows I’m always about to be in a diet, in a diet, or falling off a diet, but if I mention that a meal looks good but has too many calories, she’ll usually say “Oh, go on, just get it, who cares?” and when I do fall off the wagon she makes fun of me saying, “Just yesterday you said you couldn’t get dessert with me, and today you’re going back for your second serving of fries!” Right when we first met I told her I was trying to lose weight, and she said jokingly, “i’m your worst enemy then!” because she loves so much to eat.
I know that now she’s my roomie i’ll be eating even more meals with her and I need some tactics beforehand to deal with my cravings and not fall in because it’s easier to conform. She has gained weight in college too, 11 pounds in fact, but being 5’7″ and originally 108 pounds, becoming 119 pounds really has just given her very skinny frame some nice curves and bigger boobs, while my weight gain has me on the fast train towards becoming the michelin man.
I don’t blame my roomie for my weight, it’s certainly the choices I make that shape my size, but I would love some tactics for facing the obstacle of eating with her and the other obstacles I mentioned as well.

Joseph asks…

Weight loss for teenagers?

Three of my friends and myself (we’re around 18) are really trying to lose some weight. More specifically, fat. None of us have that much to lose, but at the same time it feels like no matter how hard we try, we just can’t lose it! We joined a gym that has a routine, and is only a half an hour work out that they claim is equal to two hours walking. We go three to four times a week if we can. It helped a little, losing 2 or 3 pounds and maybe 1 or 2 inches. We’re trying to eat better, but sometimes it’s not that easy.

We need help.
Gym. Should we join a different gym? Our current gym is “Curves” which is actually a very nice place with very nice women, but it doesn’t seem to be working as well as we thought. We enjoy the half hour convenience and the fact we’re not surrounded by women and men with perfect bodies. Is this not the right type of gym for us?

Eating. How can we control our eating habits better? It’s hard to choose a salad over a juicy burger. And at school, we aren’t really sure how many calories are in our food. We know eating better is a big part to losing weight, but we just can’t seem to do it.

Any advice, tips, or facts would be greatly appreciated!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Calories is a large topic when it comes to weight loss. We need to learn 3 things: the volume of calories in our food, the volume of calories a certain activity expends every sixty minutes, and finally our own personal daily allowance of calories. I found the responses to all of these questions by visiting the website in the box below, they have lots of guidance, I shed 10 pounds by doing as they advised.
