weight loss cardiff answers:

Finding the best and the most suitable free diet plan for you is beneficial especially if you aim to stick to a healthy meal plan which can guide you in removing excess fats without having to spend anything. But during the process of choosing the best diet plan, you need to make sure that you pick the most varied, well-balanced and easy to follow option.

Here are just few of the best diet plans that you can try at home that don’t require you to spend money excessively:

1. Diet Plan with 3 Meals and 1-2 Snacks a Day. This meal plan often requires you to focus on getting around two to three servings of lean protein, three to five servings of healthy grains and 3 servings of calcium every day. Each of your 3 daily meals should also come with at least one vegetable or fruit. One of the many things that make this meal plan impressive is that it allows treating yourself to mini-splurges every once in a while. These include sipping a glass of wine, consuming creamy soup and eating a small cookie. Just make sure that you avoid doing all these treats on a single day.

2. Grapefruit Diet. Also referred to as the 3-day diet, the Grapefruit diet refers to a fad diet plan which involves the consumption of one-half part of a grapefruit when taking your meals to rapidly lose weight. Grapefruit is known as a citrus fruit packed with vitamins that promote fullness even with minimal calorie intake. The fruit is also recognized for its ability to burn calories and curb your appetite. Aside from eating grapefruits, this free diet plan also frequently includes taking black coffee, banana, toast and egg for breakfast, crackers, cottage cheese and black coffee for lunch and steamed vegetables, black coffee and tuna for dinner.

3. Low GI Diet. This free diet plan involves the use of glycemic index to take complete control of your blood sugar and reach your weight lose goals. Note, however, that the low GI diet does not necessarily mean sticking to meal plans that are really low in fats and calories. It usually requires you to select low GI and nutrient-dense foods including legumes, fruits, whole grains and vegetables. To obtain excellent results from this diet plan, consider consuming a minimum of 1200 calories every day. This is helpful in proper metabolic function.

You also need to ensure that most of your carb intake is composed of non-starchy vegetables, beans, whole grains like brown rice and oatmeal and fruits including pears, apples, berries and citrus. Among the foods to avoid when trying to stick to a low GI diet are foods that are high in sugar, fruits rich in natural sugars like tropical fruits and foods manufactured using refined white flour including bread and pasta.

4. Carb Free Diet. This free diet plan requires you to avoid eating foods that have high carbohydrate content like granola bars, breakfast cereals, baked goods, pasta, rice, fruits, yogurt, milk, starchy vegetables and sugary foods. It involves sticking to a meal plan which places great emphasis on consuming non-starchy vegetables and moderate amounts of protein-rich foods including fish, meat, poultry, cheese, eggs and sea foods. It also involves taking generous amounts of healthy fats from olive and coconut oil, cream, salad dressings, nuts, avocado, butter and mayonnaise. If you plan to follow the no-carb diet, then you should remember that healthy fats will serve as your body’s main source of fuel.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I believe starting with a detoxification plan first before going into a diet is an excellent way to start off by losing quick pounds. I love this detoxification program:

If you can handle it you do the diet for 10 days. I lost 10 pounds in 4 days. If you buy the book it has the recipe along with tips from people who have tried it. This is a temporary fix (I could only follow it for about 3 days) but it got me on the track to a better diet.

You might try a simple detox – one of those pills you take that helps clean up your body first like these:

At GNC website search under detox – several products come up that you can try. These are less strict than the Master Cleanse.

For a good all around diet try this book:

Skinny B_tch. It’s a simple to understand right to the point book, no frills, no weird diet.

I really like this diet as it gives you a whole new way of thinking. I’ve lost 4 pounds on this diet in 3 days.

Best diet pills or diet plan?

I am looking for the best diet pills out there for female. Prefer not to change my meals much and prefer no prescription needed. It diet plans that are easy and written out for visual. 🙂 please help.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Diet Pills- Don’t buy or waste your money. On average they cost between 20-60 dollars and it is basically money down the drain (I am sad to admit that I’ve spent about 40.00 total on diet pills in my life and if I could do it again, I wouldn’t, I’d be 40.00 richer today)

As for a diet plan- well I would give you a very detailed plan but I don’t know your height, weight, age and how much you’re looking to lose nor what foods you don’t like. But I will give you a basic overview and basic direction to where you should be headed.

PROTEINS: (animal products, dairy, legumes)
eggs, white boneless chicken breast (baked, grilled, boiled), oven roasted turkey breast (from the deli), low fat cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, Swiss, Munster), baked salmon (seasoned with lemon and parsley), grilled salmon, chunk light tuna – drained in water, chunk light salmon- drained in water, baked flounder, baked Tilapia- nothing fried, hummus, garbanzo beans, red beans, black beans, natural peanut butter, unsalted peanuts, almonds, almond butter, Brazil nuts, cashews, Greek fat free yogurt, low fat milk, almond milk, soy milk, lean ground turkey or chicken beef, fat free cottage cheese

FRUITS/VEGGIES: all are good!

whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, whole wheat couscous, thin crackers, rice cakes, corn, sweet potatoes, squash, Spelt pretzels, unsalted pretzels, light air pop corn, baked veggie chips, oatmeal, Nature Valley granola bars, Kashi fruit and cereal bars, balance bars, Luna Bars, high fiber cereals (check sugar content always less than 12 grams per serving)

frozen yogurt, sorbet, dried fruit, weight watchers muffins, dark chocolate, homemade chocolate chip cookies- they’re more natural, organic Amy’s brand desserts

Make sure your exercise 1 hour 5 days a week

About what weight would a size 8 be in women?

i’m a teenager, 190 pounds and I am 5’2″. I am working hard to get down to at most a size 8. what is the average weight range for a size eight? how long would it take to get there? weight loss tips? I’d like to get down to this by at most before august. thank you so much!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Im about an 8 but im 5 7.. I weigh 165 lbs but last year I was 198 lbs and a size 14 it took me like four months to lose 30-35 lbs but the first twenty lbs came off in like a month and a half I think. I did a 1200 calorie diet and quit most sugar out. If I was hungry after the 1200 cals were out than I would eat like a sandwhich with wheat bread no mayo and stuff like that. Its easy after the first week orr two. Now im trying to get this last fifteen lbs off. Good luck =)

Donna asks…

How can I lose weight in one week?

I have gained a little tummy in one week, I’m not that fat people tell me I’m skinny but my stomach has grown a little. I’m planning on doing cardio everyday and I barely eat. I only ate chicken salad today and I’m going to do cardio soon. Any tips for fast weight loss now? I’m traveling in one week.

weight loss cardiff answers:

“Going hungry isn’t good for anyone. Eventually, you’ll end up breaking down and overeating,” says nutritionist Carrie Wiatt. Implement one tweak every day (and keep it up till showtime) to feel lighter and firmer. String bikini, here you come.

Eliminate Processed Foods
They’re easy to get sucked into, yet unsatisfying. “They make you crave more food than your body needs,” says Wiatt. If you can’t pronounce the ingredients, the food is off-limits. Or hit the produce aisle for foods with no label at all.

Lay Off The Sauce
Not only are alcoholic drinks dehydrating and high in calories, they also make resisting unnecessary nibbles incredibly difficult. (No shocker here: Studies prove women consume more calories after drinking.)

Get A Fiber Fix
It may be tempting to nix all carbs, but don’t forgo fiber, a proven source of long-lasting satiety. Sprinkle flaxseed onto yogurt or add a few teaspoons of sliced almonds to your salad. If you’re really craving carbs, have 1/3 cup fiber-rich quinoa, barley, or brown rice.

Burn, Baby, Burn
Eating steadily throughout the day feeds the fire of your metabolism and keeps it burning calories at a steady clip. Enormous portions, on the other hand, slow it down. Aim for three small meals (300 to 350 calories each) and two snacks (100 to 150 calories each).

Banish Bloat
Broccoli, onions, and peppers cause gassiness and bloating. Stick with water-based produce like cucumbers, spinach, and asparagus. Potassium-rich fruits like bananas and oranges also purge retained water.

Flush It Out
Cells retain water when they don’t have enough of it. Down two to three liters (or four to six regular-size bottles) each day. Sip slowly and the water will hit your bloodstream rather than filter out through your liver, so you won’t have to pee every five seconds.

Befriend Protein
The Atkins Diet is outmoded, but a healthy, protein-rich breakfast will fill you up and head off unnecessary snacking through this final push. “Try an egg-white scramble packed with veggies,” says Wiatt, who makes hers with three whites.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Chris asks…

What are some tips to stick to a low-carb diet?

I have previously been on a low carb diet and lost 4 kilos in the first 2 weeks, but after i noticed that i wasn’t losing any more weight, so i ended up quitting the diet and went back to my regular diet. I’m planning on starting the atkins diet again but am worried that i won’t lose more than 4 kilos again. I was consuming 30g of carbs a day, with plenty of water. Have i done something wrong? How can i maintain my weight loss on the atkins diet?

weight loss cardiff answers:

The body loses weight very easily the first 6 weeks on Atkins program. The body readjusts for up to 2 weeks at this point, which freaks a lot of people out. They make the mistake of cutting calories (which slows metabolism) or quitting. I assumed my body had lost all it was going to lose. (I never thought I could lose weight & wasn’t even trying, I just had to quit gaining weight. I was scared of low calories so forced an extra 1000 calories a day & still lost massive amounts of weight.) So I increased my calories & carbs another 5g and a few days later “poof” I lost 10# overnight. I didn’t think that was even physically possible, but the weight lost continued albeit, much slower thereafter.

Lowering calories has the body in full conversion mode to slow metabolic process & preserve the fat stores while “releasing” lean tissues (which become extraneous). Low carb works by “releasing” excess fat stores, while low calorie works by catabolizing the body’s lean tissues & fat stores. So the body adjusts occasionally, makes sure there is plenty of food & sees there is no reason to continue holding onto excess fat stores. People think low carb is for weight loss, when in fact it is for normalizing a body & excess fat stores are not normal. Carbs force fat storage with a high carb diet & that is not normal either.

It takes the body a full 6 weeks to become fat adapted. The brain uses glucose & it takes 6 weeks for it to fully convert from being fueled by glucose to being fueled by fats. So during this (I believe, once in a lifetime) period your body is using glucose & converting excess protein to glucose. After the conversion, the body has a choice to either lower metabolic functions or release excess fat stores & your diet dictates which direction the body will go.

I lost lots of weight the first few month & then weight loss stopped. It didn’t matter what I did, the body wouldn’t release any more fat stores. Since I never planned to lose weight in the first place, I was glad to just maintain this weight loss. I continued on with low carbing for the health benefits for several years with no change in weight. I finally quit weighing altogether. I started on thyroid meds & was shocked to find that I lost 60# in the next 2 years. I didn’t even notice til someone I hadn’t seen in a year mentioned that I had lost so much weight. I didn’t think it was possible with what I thought was maintenance level carbs (& quite a few cheats).

It’s been almost 7 years now & every year I’m smaller than I was the year before & much smaller than I was 20 years ago.

Low carb is different but what it’s done to my health has been miraculous, the weight loss was just a nice bonus. It takes awhile to discover different foods but I can have (low carb versions of) pizza, ice cream & cheesecake & still lose weight. High carbs are so seriously detrimental to health, I guess with my health problems, I have a greater incentive to stay on plan.

The greatest tip I can share is to increase your carb levels 5g net carbs every week after induction til you reach a comfortable level that you have foods you enjoy & still lose weight & not worry about weight loss. It may not happen as quickly, but you create a lifeplan.

Visit the low carb forums, learn new recipes & foods. Before low carb, I hadn’t tried 90% of the vegetables at the grocery store. Vegetables, seeds & nuts are the bulk of my diet now.

I highly recommend chia seeds (, ground flax seeds & shirataki noodles to greatly expand the diet.

How to lose weight in 3 weeks and how?

I’m 20, 150 pounds and 5′ 4” I’m usually pretty active, running 3-4 miles a day with weight 5 days a week. However, I stopped a few weeks ago to prepare for exams.

I’m not trying to lose a specific amount of weight in three weeks but how much is safe and possible to lose? What are some good workouts to start and some vegetarian foods that promote weightloss. Any other tips are welcome too! Thanks

The Einstein Diet…

Lemon water, with the lemons coming from freshly squeezed lemons, which will help detox the body of excess fat and toxins.

A variety of raw high carb/low fat fruit (do not juice or blend, because chewing properly is important for digestion due to amylase).

Must have green grapes and ambrosia apples 24/7.

Other Information…

Vegetables/legumes are 2nd best, but may be needed due to finance or type 1 diabetes, in which case, I’d suggest getting a variety of salad recipes.

Sprouted grains are 3rd best, but may be needed due to finance.

*No meat and no cheese is a must, but if a person has trouble with not eating meat: shrimp/prawns, lobster & crab are the easiest meats to digest.

*Proper sleep, fresh air 24/7, eating sufficient carbs, and cardio (at least walking) is a must.

What is a good diet plan for my husband & I to do together?

I would like to find a diet plan (meals & exercise) that my husband & I can do together, but is easy at the same time. He will only walk or ride bikes with me. I have the Walk A Way the Pounds DVDs and he will not do them. He also expects to have a full meal on the table every night, but agress that he should not eat that much and needs to loose some weight. I am a diabetic and could really use some support in losing at least 10 lbs. We are both in our late 20’s to early 30’s and have a daughter who is active. She could do something with us, but I need ideas.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Recent studies have shown that the best diet plan for weight loss, diabetes, cancer and hypertension is a plant based diet.

Using a completely vegetarian diet without chicken, fish, eggs, milk, cheese or anything else that comes from an animal, I have seen many people stop using insulin and get rid of their other medications. The patients that I work with usually eat only 2 meals each day; they skip supper because they don’t need the energy from that meal while they are sleeping.

Any diet will not give you the results that you want without exercise.

George asks…

What is the best diet plan to lose stomach fat?

I’m just curious what’s a good diet/work out plan that gets rid of stomach fat and to keep it off too. But I also want to get rid of it in the right places, and keep it in other places. I mainly just want to get rid of my large belly. (my goal is to lose 5-6 inches in 4 months) Also I don’t have much money to afford any of these diet plans out there… Anything you recommend?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Not many of us have the luxury of being able to afford a diet program these days, let alone the time for a strong work-out.

Luckily for you, sit-ups don’t cost a penny! If you are crunched for time (no pun intended) I recommend doing sit-ups using your couch as a counter balance. (If you can find a work-out buddy, they will suffice as well)

Your goal should be to do 100 sit-ups every night before bed. When you are first getting started try and do as many as you can. Moderation is key. Remember to breath as well: inhale on the way down, exhale on the way up. No cheating either: keep those hands across your chest or behind your head! Add 30 minutes of cardio to this regiment and you should see your waist size decrease in a matter of months

Drink plenty of water and stay away from any type of carbonated beverage! They will bloat you!

As always, consult a physician before attempting any kind of strenuous work-out. Good luck!
