Is weight loss easy for children?

My niece is 12 1/2 years old shes tall but shes big. No very fat but average fat. She asked me for tips about how to help her. She said she wants something not very hard, she really wants help, she is about 47kg. Please help me help her.
Just something easy.
She wants to lose alot of weight in her very big thighs
She is about 1m 55cm
She is 1m 55cm and 50kg
She also eats alot regulary – always hungry

Losing weight for children is definitely easier than for adults. A common myth is that exercise helps to lose weight, whereas this is sort of correct in most cases people tend to overeat the calories they expend (excercise is however excellent for heart health). The best thing for your niece is to have a proper diet. One which has all the nutrition in terms of vitamins, minerals and ions but doesn’t contain things like saturated fat.

It is also common for children (especially females) to go through growth spurts during pubery which will drastically change her BMI. Also if proper diet and exercise together do not cause weight loss it may be a pathology such as hypothyroidism or cushing’s syndrome which can cause unexplained weight gain.

I do not know about quick and easy way to lose weight, but here are some general healthy tips:

1) Have a healthy and balanced permanent diet: dark green vegetables, fresh fruits, whole wheat and whole grain products, non-fat dairy products, fish, poultry breast, lean red meat, egg white.

You should cut out all sugar, soda, non-whole grain products and saturated fats: These aliments should only be a reward for achieving a goal, not a habit!

2) Start exercising

Aerobic and weight training will raise your metabolic rate. In result, your body will burn more calories.

* aerobic exercising

In an experiment of making tertirary alcohol using grignard synthesis, magensium, isobutyl bromide and a ketone was used. in part of the experiment the unknown ketone was mixed with diethyl ether and stirred for several mintures and then finally quenched with sulfuric acid before added to the unknown bromide solution. why?

The usual purpose of adding acids or bases to a mixture is to alter the ph levels. If the constitutes of the acid does not enter into the reaction, then the ph level need to be changed to form the reaction with the bromide. Most likely forming a precipitate of ethylene bromide in alcohol.

What would happen if petroleum ether was used instead of dry diethyl ether for grignard reaction?

The reaction being grignard reaction with the preparation of phenylmagnesium bromide from bromobenzene, dry ether and magnesium. Would the petroleum ether not produce the grignard reagent?
but why do they require diethyl ether? petroleum ether also has that O that can be used, does it not?

I thought this was already aswered.
Grignard reagents require a true ether solvent for their formation. Petroleum ether is a hydrocarbon.

There is no O in pet ether. It’s just a cut of pentane, with some cats and dogs left in it. It will not make a Grignard reagent.

I eat a lot of dishes cooked with veggies. Also, I use ground turkey instead of ground beef for everything. Any pastas have to be whole wheat. I cut out breads almost entirely. I make taco bowls…. Ground turkey with taco seasoning, lettuce, chili beans, no fat cheddar, tomatoes, and salsa. Simmer chicken breasts in broth with some seasonings and serve with mushrooms. Check out allrecipes.com for some lo-cal recipes. You can make it even more lo-cal by using fat free ingredients. Use calorieking.com to keep track of the calories in what you cook with. Find a good calorie needs calculator and figure out how many cals you can have in a day to lose weigh. I use http://www.healthstatus.com/cbc.html but there are lots of others out there. For example, I need to stay at 1200 cals a day to lose 1-2 lbs a week. I usually have two pieces of lo-fat wheat toast with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter for breakfast (80 cals), an espresso with sugar (20 cals), a Healthy Choice meal for lunch (300 or fewer cals), a Special K snack bar in the afternoon (90 cals), which leaves me almost 600 cals for dinner. One serving of that taco bowl is less than 500 cals, so I can have a 100 cal cookie pack for dessert! It is a lot of math, but after gaining almost 30 lbs with my hubby and losing 18 of it the last 2 months, it is worth it! I only work out 1-3 times a week. Good luck.

Cardio vascular exercise and low carb intake is the quickest and easiest way. I am a personal trainer and I can tel you this is a very quick method for your body needs lots of fuel to function. It uses carbs and stores extra into fat. If your body needs it more when you exercise and you don’t eat lots of carbs then it will use the fat stores. Remember to only limit carbs. If you tend to feel hungry lots then be aware that eating sugary foods creates an insulin spike in your blood which leads to hunger and overeating. Good luck.

I am 5’3″ also. I am at 132 lbs and have been at this weight for about 4 years by staying on 1200 calories a day. Of course I do splurge when I eat out, but if you continually stick

I am a yo-yo. I have had great success and great failure, im in a failure stage right now but turning it around. When i was 10 i was diagnosed with acid reflux disease and was put on a Bland diet
this means boiled chicked breasts and water for every meal, they had great benefiets and i probably wouldnt have been as tall as i am now if that didnt happen but then once i could eat what i wanted i gained it all back then 2 years later i lost it all again because i was just starting puberty and now i gained it all back again but im on the right track because i am getting more active and eating a lot healthier i hope this motivates you a little.
