Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mandy asks…

Is there any easy diet recipe or diet plan?

I just found out that I’m weighing at 148, I’m 5’7, and I’m 18 years old. I like anybody else can’t really keep up to a diet recipe but I’d like to know if anyone can share some easy diet plans or exercises that actually show improvement . I’m really into the smoothie diets but if anyone can please help me out, id greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The thing about weight loss is that it’s only productive if you live healthily. This means making lifestyle changes instead of going on fad diets. Why? Because as soon as you go off of the fad diet and revert to original lifestyle, you’ll gain the weight back.

It’s not that hard to eat healthy. Avoid sugary, fatty, processed foods. Fill up on veggies and a moderate amount of fruits. Eat lean meats.

Stay around 1500 calories daily. This will create a fairly large caloric deficit with just your normal day to day activities and you’ll notice natural weight loss.

Joseph asks…

What is the best website or book for a diet guide?

I’m looking for a guide on what to eat (diet) from Sunday to Saturday. I can’t find it, I can find diet food recipes. I don’t need that, I want a guide to tell me what to eat, yeah I know, I’m lazy to figure a diet plan. I’d figure someone came across in what I am looking for and can give me a link or book. Also in the guide, I guess a recipes included. Thanks in advance.

I found the book “The Eat Clean Diet Recharged” by Tosca Reno to be the most helpful. It’s not a fad diet. Instead, she tells how to use healthy nutrition to obtain and maintain a healthy weight. It’s easy to read and full of helpful information, tips, and ideas, as well as a few recipes. There are a few cookbooks that go along with clean eating too if you like the book.

Lose Weight in 3 weeks?

So I moved to a different province a month ago and I am going back to my home town to visit my friends and family in 3 weeks and I want to look my best! I am 5’7ft and 140lbs. How can I lose weight fast in 3 weeks!?

weight loss cardiff answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

losing weight in 6 weeks..?

starting saturday i’m gonna be going to gym 5 days a week, starting off slowly but gradually working out more and more… i’ll be doing 40 minutes of cardio a day and about 30 minutes weight training. i will be eating a very healthy diet to…do u think i’ll lose alot of weight in 6 weeks? and if so how much?

weight loss cardiff answers:

When you work out for long periods of time or using a lot of weight in the case of weight training, you start to build up muscle. Remember that muscle tissue weights more than fat so you might even gain weight depending on the intensity of your work out. HOWEVER, you’ll look great because you will be eliminating all the body fat. So don’t be dissapointed if you don’t lose a ton of weight, you’re muscles will be very toned! Also, remeber that you should only be losing about one percent of your weight per week!

John asks…

How does birth control affect weight loss?

I have been on a strict weight loss program. I eat generally healthy and go to the gym 5 to 6 times a week and about three times with a personal trainer.
However, soon I am planning on getting into birth control pills. I have been told that your hormones go crazy with the pills… Would this affect my weight loss? I know it reacts differently with each woman… but what are the possibilities?

Thanks in advance!

How does the weight-loss setting on a treadmill work?

At my local gym, they have treadmills with different programs that you can select (manual, interval, performance, heart rate, weight loss, etc). How exactly does the weight loss program work? Is the goal of that to keep the heart rate in a certain zone all the time? Or does it work differently? Thanks in advance.

weight loss cardiff answers:

No it doesn’t work. Try “uphill” or “gluteal” or just crank up the incline. I think the eliptical works better. Do the “gluteal” workout and crank up the resistance. I lost 25 pounds doing this.

weight loss cardiff answers:

For weight loss, dieting is more effective than exercise.

Reducing your intake of junk sugar will help. Foods such as desserts, sweets, cakes, cookies or biscuits must be eliminated or substantially reduced. Cereals must be restricted to those that contain less than 15% total sugars and junk sugar loaded foods such as pizzas must be avoided. Junk sugar bowls must be abolished.

Junk sugar health hazards are discussed in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22sugar+health+hazards%22&fr=ush-ans

The natural sugars in fruit and vegetables are OK as they metabolise to glucose slowly due to their high fiber content so they have a low to medium GI value. Fruit and vegetables are low in calories and are not fattening. Most fruit and vegetables are metabolism boosting foods and that helps for weight loss. Potatoes and sweet potatoes are exceptions and can be fattening.

Fattening combinations that you need to avoid include combinations of protein foods (such as eggs, meat, poultry, sea food, cheese and nuts) with starchy carbohydrates (such as bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes and corn).

If you go on a diet you could, to some extent, stunt your height growth as under eating can stop you reaching your potential height.

Below the weight loss discussion below there is also a height gaining discussion, just in case you also want to gain some height.

If you want to lose weight regardless the discussion below might perhaps help but please also read the height gaining comments after the weight loss discussion.

Perhaps you could try The Great Australian Diet discussed below.

Created by Australian health guru Dr John Tickell, the Great Australian Diet is touted as a return to natural foods and natural eating patterns. Tickell, an obstetrician turned sports medicine specialist, claims that after travelling the world and studying foods, he has discovered several simple rules which can help anyone lose weight healthily.

He describes the Great Australian Diet as “anti-Atkins, anti-CSIRO” and emphasises the importance of carbohydrates in the diet, saying that the “two most important foods we eat -fruits and vegetables- are carbohydrates”. Dr John also criticises the low GI diet because, he says, it frightens people off eating carbs.

The Great Australian Diet is actually rather complicated, and may not be as easy to follow as Dr Tickell seems to think. First of all, he replaces the glycemic index with the HI, or ‘Human Interference’ factor. This means that foods which have been highly processed, such as salami, white bread and white rice, are considered unhealthy, and are replaced by unprocessed alternatives- raw and lightly cooked vegetables, fish, especially deep water fish and sardines, and small amounts of lean meat. 2/3 of the diet should be composed of vegetables and fruits, and 1/3 ‘bonus’ foods, which are essentially lean proteins, and after the initial two day cleansing period, which is very low calorie, 15 different types of plants should be eaten every day.

Since no calorie guidelines are given, and only vague instructions to eat 4 or 5 nuts and so on, this may be the downfall of many dieters. After all, its pretty easy to forget how many nuts, seeds and grains you have eaten. It may also be hard for people on busy schedules to keep to such a demanding diet, since eating out is restricted really to grilled fish and an occasional steak and vegetables.

But the Great Australian Diet is much more than just an eating plan. Dieters get points for watching the sunset, hugging their children and other ‘coping’ activities, and use gentle exercise techniques to strengthen trunk and arm muscles. Walking is also part of the diet, which claims over 91 days to re-educate the body into natural rhythms. One of the selling points for me at least, is the resting weeks- after each three weeks on the diet, there are two weeks when you are allowed to eat freely, and recuperate. However, although it seems pretty healthy, the Great Australian Diet is never going to be voted easiest diet of the year.

You can see further details in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22the+great+australian+diet%22&fr=ush-ans

To reach your potential height you need adequate sleep (from 8-10 hours per night), adequate calories and a normal healthy diet.

Plenty of protein from eggs, meat, poultry, sea food and dairy products helps as well as calcium from milk, cheese and other dairy products. You also need plenty of zinc from red meat, oysters, mussels, nuts and seeds and zinc fortified cereals such as Weetbix.

Girls usually stop growing at 15 and in most cases any further height growth from 15-21 is insignificant but there are exceptions such as late bloomers.

Guys usually stop growing at 18 and in most cases any further height growth from 18-25 is insignificant but there are exceptions such as late bloomers.

Under eating and under sleeping can, to some extent, stunt your height growth. Exercise does not help your height growth and smoking can actually reduce your potential height by a whole inch. Too much junk sugar can reduce your HGH level as in item 40 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm

You can see further tips in a web search for “how to grow taller naturally”.
