They are bad for you and cause weight gain fast. Cut fast food as well! If you get hungry in between your 3 meals, eat a piece of fruit/vegetable, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, or fruit juice. THey are all good and healthy and will burn fat. As well as eating healthy, combine with exercise and you will lose the weight healthfully and easily. Diets don’t work in the long run. When you consume too little, or deprive yourself of certain foods, you are also not getting the essential nutrients. That’s why everyone gain the weight back and more in diets. Diet’s are a plan for fail. INstead, just focus on eating healthy. You will feel better, look better, and perform better. Opt for a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. That’s how you lose weight and keep it off for good.
For the exercise, don’t overdo yourself. Just walking, jogging for 1 hour each day will be more than enough. Rememeber to rest for 1 day of the week. Also, if 1 hour is too long for you, you can BREAK IT DOWN thorughout the day. Nobody said you have to get it all done in one shot, just do some after you wake up, some in the afternoon myabe, and sometime before or after dinner. It’s more managaeable that way. Walking, jogging, running or swimming are aerobic/cardio exercises and they burn the most calories and fat. They will make you strengthen or build your muscle and keep you burning more calories and fat.

In order to lose weight you need to incorporate both healthy diet and exercise. Eating 1,200 calories can help you lose weight if you exercise. Or just eat your normal calorie in take and minus 500 calories a day either by exercising or just cutting out calories. This will manage to lose 1-2lbs per week.

I have naturally more muscular legs and I really want to lose some weight (from my stomach, arms), but without doing exercise that makes my legs bigger! Biking and rowing have done that in the past, and running hurts my hips too much. What other options are there?

I’m the same way. Very muscular calves.
So I do the elliptical for cardio as you have the movement for the arms to tone then up and the motion of the machine doesn’t put on muscle on the legs.
The bike only targets lower body so that’s not a good option.
The row machine in my opinion would be the best one.
Do you do a weight circuit?
What about any group exercise classes? At my gym they have body combat that it a lot of punching and upper body work.

Don’t starve yourself cause that does more harm than it could ever do good… Eat healthy… Properly… Take in the right number of calories and in the right way… An easy way to reduce calories, feel full quicker, and cleanse your body basically is to increase your fruit and veggies… They grow by being watered… Well.. Water can make you feel full to, but with the fruits and veggies you also get nutrients and antioxidants that are good for you… Make sure to get your protein, dairy, and even some healthy carbs too…

To tone muscles be diligent about getting 2-5 hours of exercise a week or make it easy and try 1/2 hour of physical activity each day… Weight and resistence training are awesome at working the muscles… Muscle takes time to build… Its actually caused my small (tiny) tears in the muscle during a workout that heal over a few days by building more muscle… So will you ever be able to be ‘tone’ in 3 days… No… It takes several weeks to see a real difference…

Everything here should be done regularly to really make a difference and if it becomes part of your lifestyle in general it becomes easy and second nature…

I really need help with weight loss!?

I’m a 15 year old girl and a sophomore in high school. I’m so tired of being called fat and having people make fun of me for my weight. I’m currently 235 and i want to get down to at least 170. Only problem is, i can never seem to be motivated enough to do something. I never wanna get up and exercise, its hard to stick to a actual diet because of school lunches. I really need a good idea of what i should be eating, easy and simple weight loss exercises and, something to help motivate me to lose. Thanks (:

Well first off you need to really want this for yourself…not for others. Then cut out all sugary drinks, drink plenty of water, and walking is the best way to lose weight. It is working for me so far. I know school lunches suck, my 16 year old refuses to eat them. So either think about taking your lunch or cutting back on what you buy for lunch.

Easy weight loss/getting toned advice?

I am like 5’6 and about 125 pounds. I want to get healthier and lose a little weight and get toned, especially a flat stomach!!!!! Here is the catch: I hate running and I cant do a lot of things with my knees (lunges, etc) because they are really weak. But i am open to other exercises and food advice…. I want to make this process as fast as possible! Thank you!

The part that isnt flat in your stomach is fat and you’ll have to get rid of that by doing cardio. Since your legs aren’t strong though, you’ll have to either train them to be able to run OR just swim! Swimming is really easy on the limbs. You don’t even have to do a million laps, just casually glide and it’ll be worth it an hour everyday. At 125lbs and 5’6″, you may become underweight, so make sure you are eating enough. Abs are made in the kitchen, so make sure you have a healthy supply of everything and be weary of carbs and sugars, as that adds to the stomach! Good luck.

There is no ‘magic pill’ for losing weight. It all comes down to calories in / calories out. Not only ‘portion control’ is key but also you need to know what type of nutrition you are getting from the foods you are eating. Are you meeting your protein, fiber, calorie daily intake? Are drinking enough water / fluids? Are you exercising regularly?

It’s not easy but definitely possible. I lost 26 lbs in 12 weeks because I was consistent with my ‘weight loss plan’. I was eating 5 to 6 times a day. 2 Herbalife shakes (breakfast & lunch), mid-morning & mid-afternoon snacks and a healthy dinner. Check my profile for more details.
