You should eat at least 4-5 meals a day.

Drink lots of water, and eat regularly. Don’t starve yourself, because once you start eating again, you’ll gain everything back, trust me.

Eat lots of fruits and veggies, and if you eat bread, make sure it’s whole grain. White bread is pretty fattening. You can also eat lean meats, like fish, turkey and chicken breast. Eggs also help when trying to lose weight.

Skip out on sweets, candy, sugary foods, chips, ice cream, cake, and cookies.

If you feel hungry, but don’t want to over eat, chew gum. It’ll keep your mouth busy and it tricks yourself into thinking your eating.

Cut out ALL soda! If you stop drinking soda, it helps you out a lot!
And don’t forget to exercise!

Try walking, jogging, jump rope, dancing, crunches, bike riding and swimming. Try exercising for 45-80 minutes a day.

Due Depo weight gain, considering switching birth control method?

I am currently on the shot going on four-five months. I got it for the second time about a month and a half ago.And recently have been gaining a lot of weight. i’ve always been thin and have been able to lose weight easily but i’ve only been putting on weight. I recently searched yahoo answers and saw that it’s been a common side effect of Depo.

I want to get off the shot a switch to another birth control method due to mostly the weight gain but also the back and head aches and the spotting. Perhaps the pill? Are there any side effects from switching? Should i wait some time before i do? what is the best birth control method and is weight gain a side effect too? thanks in advance

Weight gain is a common side effect of every type of birth control I have ever heard of or taken. It just comes with the hormones but there are some in pill form that are not as bad, ask your doctor. I think the only one that didn’t make me gain weight was Yaz.

i will eat, or not eat. whatever i have to do, to lose however

Well, there really isn’t any secret to losing weight. Diet & Exercise. The stomach area is the toughest part to tone, because it is the last area of the body to show results.
Can you get to a gym or a treadmill? If so here is what I recommend. Set the treadmill to full incline as high as it goes. Then set the speed to match up to your heartrate probably going to be 150-160 bpm. When your heart rate is too high slow down, when it is too low speed up. Generally you’ll find a speed with that will maintain your heart rate in that range of 150-160. Make sure the incline is super high. 15 or so. This will tone your legs, calfs and butt. YOU MUST WORK OUT FOR AT LEAST 30mins (I suggest 45mins, you will be sweating hard, so make sure to have water on hand) otherwise you won’t deplete your fat storage. I tell all the women that come to my gym this and every one see results in a week. Keep doing your sit-ups to tone those muscles. However you may want to do leg raises and leg twists to work the lower abs and obliques. Obliques is what is going to make your stomach small. In order to get where you want to be, you need to burn lots of calories and eat right.
As far as nutrition
1) cut the fat. Eat lots of green vegtables
2) drink ice water when ever your thirsty.
3) drink milk 1-2 times a day.
4) make sure to get enough protien to help in building lean muscle

If you can do these simple things you’ll be looking super hot in no time.
Way hotter then Paris or Nicole. They aren’t healthy thin. You’ll have something they won’t, . . . Sexy shape.

How to lose weight healthy, but also really fast?

I’m not fat, but I am 20 lbs over weight, and I have bulky pars, not m-oobs, but still chub, and I want it to get lost fast, cuz is really annoying me.

I have a slower metabolism, and I have been fat all of my life. I am thirteen, and I want too lose it.

How can a buysy person that dosn’t have alot of time for anything, lose weight fast?

Try this, you’ll see and feel results in 2-3 days. The muscle will outweigh the fat so don’t let the scale discourage you 🙂

For exercise, try switching it up (Monday work on arms, Tuesday work on stomach, Wednesday work on legs, Thursday Rest, Friday Arms, Saturday Stomach, Sunday Legs) though you can choose your own schedule/plan. Try maybe using different machines for stomach or legs or arms so your body doesn’t get used to it. Also, try increasing the amount of exercise you do every week.

For eating, try portion control (70% of your diet is food intake but exercise is also important) eating the serving size and if there is no designated serving size, 1cup if it’s a meal and 1/2 a cup if it’s a snack.

Breakfast- Whenever you choose
Drink of choice- hour after breakfast (all other drinks being water; one cup of drink of choice)
Lunch- 1hr after Drink of choice
Snack- 1/2 cup, 1 hour after lunch
Dinner- 2 hours after snack

It doesn’t matter WHAT you eat unless you’re on a specific diet such as Atkins, it’s mostly just How MUCH we take in and how OFTEN we take it in. I have problems with over-eating and I’ll eat an ice cream, oh I want another and it’s not b/c I’m hungry it’s b/c I have a craving for it and it feels like I can’t wait. Also, eating out of boredom, try drinking water often to prevent hunger. I also have this problem and especially when I’m exercising. (Try buying a treadmill or a few exercising supplies or maybe you can get a gym subscription) and bring with you in an insulated glass/mug full of ice b/c I always and alot of other people always want a little something to feel like their eating or munching on and this is perfect b/c it’s hydrating and you get the little munch out of it.
Also, how I said about buying some equipment or gym subscription, I’d recommend you buy your own that way you pay a little extra and the rest is free not 1/2 the price every month or whatever. Try buying about the things (one for legs, one for stomach, one for legs and maybe as you get more into, you could add more). Also, if you lift weights try increasing the amount of weight each weeks or two. 🙂

Hi! I’m glad you are determined to lose weight, good job! Determination is half the success 🙂

Now, I have the same problem as you few years back.
The first thing you should know : DO NOT GO ON A DIET

It does not work! It’ll only make you gain more weight. Trust me, it’s proven all over the world

Number two: BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT
Foods that are high in sugar or fats should not be taken at all!
Examples: fast food, chips, sweets, canned drinks.

Take food which only belong to the Bread, Cereal group, Vegetable group, and Fruits group
Meat eggs and milk yoghurt group can be taken, but not all the time. Probably 4 times a week.

Number three: EAT LESS, EAT MORE TIMES
you can eat up to 5-6 meals a day, BUT each meal is a small amount.
Eat less in quantity, more in frequency. This is very very effective.

Number four: NEVER EVER TOUCH SLIMMING PILLS
this pills are very very damaging to your health, please do not take them!

Number five: TAKE FOOD WHICH HELPS LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE & CHOLESTEROL
a good food that helps you lower your BP is GRREN APPLE JUICE
but remember, do not take in large amounts on a regular basis, it can cause dizziness.
Take about 3 times a week, a cup full will do.

Number five: DO NOT EAT 3 HOURS BEFORE YOU SLEEP
this is a BIG NO NO. Your body is not capable of processing your food properly while you are asleep. They will turn into fats.

Number six: EXERCISE
exercise at least 4 times a week, at least 60 minutes per time

I weigh 137 pounds and I really want to lose some weight, because I’m extremely embarrassed to go swimming. I know there’s really no “fast” way to lose weight, but what can I do to lose weight? I always drink water instead of sugary drinks, and I do 100 sit-ups and ballet squats before I go to bed every night. Any other important tips and exercises I can do for great results? Oh and I want to lose fat on my stomach, hips, and I want to tone my legs.

1. First start by getting up earlier than usual. Around 5:30 AM to do some of you workouts. Getting up early shocks your metabolism because the body needs more energy to get going. Right? This will start your system on the road to weight loss. That early start with about 10 minutes of stretching. Have a cup of coffee to get the blood going also.

2. Do all the sit-ups you can. Just do them. 15 or 20 whatever, we don’t have a lot of time to work with. Rest 1 minute repeat, do this for 6 sets. Already you are breathing hard and feel worn, because the body is working extra hard at being up earlier and then going right into exercise. If the early morning hour lets you get your cardio in, go ahead and do it. 30 minutes.

3. Diet. Cut all current meal portions in half, just cut them in half, nothing fancy or complicated, CUT IN HALF! Cut out all bread products, all gravies, candies, chips, night snacks, etc. If you crave at night eat a banana, other fruit or best a non-fat yogurt. There are some tasty ones out there.

4. In the evening do another 6 sets of sit-ups maxing out each set. Cardio again. The trick is to stay with getting up earlier. Yes it’s hard, that’s why it is so effective. Why do you think the Army gets up so early, it is intense training to the max.

* Instead of having 3 large meals in a day, have 5-6 small meals. Make sure to keep a gap of 2-3 hours between two consecutive meals. It will help speed up your metabolism and result in burning of more calories. Have protein, carbs & fat in a 40/40/20 percentage.
* Drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. The more you increase your water consumption, the better it is.
* Never ever skip meals or eat too less in order to lose weight. It will only make your metabolism slower, resulting in an even slower burning of calories.

well i have hypothyroidism and its hard to lose weight-and i recently got the depo provera shot and since then i have gained twenty pounds-i cant really workout alot cause i had knee surgery and i havent regained full capability of my knee-so i cant run an di cant do much-i am on levothyroxin for my thyroid, occassional combivent-and i am a college student and i work like one day a week for five hours-what weight loss pills or supplemens would you suggest?

Get off Depo. It is dangerous and completely messed my hormone levels up. I was having menopausal symptoms at only 23!

I Had a child on June 28th. I am 5’2 and the day i had him i weighed 195 lbs ( i gained ALOT OF WEIGHT, i started out 130 lbs!) i now weigh 150 lbs. I go to the gym 4x per week i do 30 mins of cardio per day. I only drink water and i eat healthy. Any ideas or supplements people have tried with results. I have 20 more pouds to lose!

i forgot to put that i have a personal trainer. I dont just do cardio i have a reg. workout routine too. Hiowever Ive been stuck in a rut i havent lost any more weight in a month

You seem to be doing good!

The basics to losing weight is really so simple.

Burn up more than you take in.

So, eat healthy; like you’re doing, and drinking a lot of cold water.

Exercise as oftn as you can. Weights are ok, but more cardio.

Don’t eat fried foods. Don’t use butter/margerine…that kind of stuff. Stay away from dressings and the ‘fatty’ stuff.

Your stomach will shrink and you won’t feel as hungry. You have to train it the way you do anything with your body. I think you’re doing great. Keep yopur food portions small, eat a little more frequently maybe, but keep the overall intake low.

Good luck I think you’re well on your way, and I applaud you for your diligence!

Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the toxins it contains.
You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss.
I think once you get going in the right direction you may be able to lose the antidepressant.

Need to loose weight. Don’t worry … I’m not skinny or anything like that. I’m a healthy size 18

Any Ideas?? …. PS. I dont have accsess to a gym or swimming pool, and I can’t do like more than 50 sit-ups 3 times a week cause i have a bad lower back.

First, you are not alone! I have lost over 100 pounds in the last two years. You want to take it off slowly but I know you want that jump start too. The best thing you can do is buy yourself some bottled water (I know tap is easier but this way you can carry it around) Make sure that you drink four of them a day. Breakfast should be eaten! Make sure that you have protien and carbs in the morning, Carbs turns to energy..you will need it throughout the day. Example: one egg scrambles you can add a little salsa to it and make huevos ranchero! One piece of whole wheat toast or One small tortilla. Lunch is a salad and cup of soup..easy just no cream of anything. Dinner: lite or use a supliment like slim fast. By lite I mean what ever you eat make sure that it is not anymore than one cup total. Nothing after 6p.m. But water. If you get hungry between meals eat a small apple or small orange. WALK WALK WALK. Build yourself up. Make sure you walk until you sweat at a brisk walk…no running. Everyday! Make time you’re worth it. Good luck…you will be able to do it. Don’t expect instant weight loss it took you a while to put it on…it will take a while to take it off. Press on girl….you will acheive!!
