How many calories do you need to eat to lose 2-3 pounds a week?
I’m on a diet, and I figure around 1000 and 45 mins exercise three times a week at a gym is ok… what do you think? also, do you have any good weight loss tips?

A pound of fat contains 3200 calories. 2 pounds would be 6400 & three pounds would be 9600.
Note that you’ll commonly see a notation of 3500 calories per pound rather than the 3200 that I list. However, if you read the lable on a package of butter, cooking oil, lard, or any other 100% fat in the store, every last one of them calculates 3200 calories per pound.
The number of calories that you consume per day depends on your weight (the more weight you carry around, the more calories you burn) and the amount of exercise you perform. If you are not very active, you might only burn 1500 calories per day. If you are quite active, it might be 2500 per day.
If you only burn 1500 calories per day, then you would only be able to eat 1500 X 7 = 10500 calories per week to maintain your current weight. If you want to lose 3 pounds per week, then you can only eat 10500 – 9600 = 900 calories in an entire week. That’s only 8.6% of your current intake.
However if you burn 2000 calories per day & you’re willing to settle for a 2 pound weight loss per week, then the math is 2000 X 7 = 14000
to maintain your weight & 14000 – 6400 = 7600 calories per week (that’s 1085 calories per day).
You can see that a bit of exercise & a reasonable weight loss target will be easier to achieve than an aggressive weight loss target with little exercise.

what is the fastest way to lose weight the healthy way?
I have been having trouble losing weight and sticking to my workout routine and having trouble choosing the healthy foods. I really need to lose weight for health reasons cause I am considered overweight based on my height. I need to lose at least 30 pounds to get to my healthy weight. so what is the fastest way to lose 30 pounds the healthy way? please include fitness and nutrition plan. any DVD recommendations? any weight loss tips? any answers would be appreciated thanks,

That way you stay focused. The other important thing is to have the drive to lose weight. Go ahead and find something that will motivate you. So in order to lose weight and look great you need to diet correctly. Do this by eating healthier foods. You may want to cut back your calorie intake but not to the point where you feel out of energy and hungry all the time. To avoid hunger you should eat frequently so that you stay satisfied all day. This technique also boosts your metabolism so that you burn more fat and feel better. Eat clean foods that are not high in fat and sugar. Consume foods like fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and lean meats.
Start a work out program so that you burn more calories. Try to get at least twenty minutes of exercising in each day. You can also take a day off each week. I find it is easier to Work out during the week days and then take the weekend off. Just start working out slowly and then progress. Once you get in shape it will be much easier to burn off more calories. Dieting to lose weight does not have to be a boring task.
