Thomas asks…

will i lose weight running half a mile?

ive been running half a mile four days a week with a regular diet, i weigh 120 at 17, will i lose weight if i keep this up?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes this will help to bring your weight down, also consider eliminating calories from your diet if you want to speed it up.

I’m working on it at the moment with my friend, gym sessions plus a healthier diet πŸ˜›

Good luck with it!

Chris asks…

Can I lose weight by running on the treadmill everyday?

I need to lose about 30lbs by June 29th. I have been eating less calories and cutting out sugar from my diet. I have been running on the treadmill everyday for an hour and am not sure if this will help me. I was meeting with a trainer for strength training but I ran out of sessions and can not afford to go back. Any suggestions for faster weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Well, you’re looking at close to 2lbs a week which is a pretty quick weight loss, but not outrageous.

If you want to lose 2 lbs a week, you need to be burning about 1k calories more then you consume per day. I burn about 600 calories in 30 minutes on a treadmill, but I’m probably bigger then you. That’s running about 3.5 miles in 30 minutes.

If you’re pretty heavy, running an hour plus a diet that would be breakeven without exercise might do it. If you’re closer to most women’s size, I’d guess you’d still need to eat slightly less then you’d burn without the running.

It’ll help for sure, keep the running up.

Keep the sugar out of your diet. Cut fried food too. You don’t want to overdiet or your body will go into shutdown mode, try to just eat controlled portions and make sure you’re eating a balanced diet. Most of us are eating too many carbs, not enough protien and vegetables.

Charles asks…

If you lose weight from slow jogging will your running become faster anyways?

You dont train fastt. You just slowly jog. But you continue and then lose weight. Will running become easier & yyou will eventully run faster?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes. The more you run the more your body will adapt to running. This will make it easier to run slow, and easier to run faster. The weight loss will mean you can run further and faster with less effort. Check out the body build of marathon runners. They are all very small and light and can run fast for a very long time. This trend is true even for middle distance athletes as well.
