Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Laura asks…

What other exercises should I add to my routine for weight loss?

Now that my term at university is coming to an end for summer I’ve decided to focus more on my weight loss as it has been the last thing on my mind recently. I’ve been more concerned with writing essays and revising and getting some sleep than going swimming 3-4 times a week because I feel it is more important. I’ve only been able to keep on top of doing some exercises to strengthen one of the muscles in my thigh to help my knee.

Whilst I am off over summer I plan to swim twice a week (Until I go on holiday where I hope to go swimming up to five times a week and do sets of 10 lengths of a 50m pool at a time), cycle 3-4 times a week for up to 3 hours, 30 minutes of Pilates. When I go back to university I am getting a year long gym membership and joining the cycling society and the swimming society.

For my diet I have cut out sugary foods, eating more fresh foods, eating more salads without salad dressing (Love salad without dressing), drinking sparkling water with cordial instead of fizzy diet drinks, drinking fruit tea and honey instead of a hot chocolate, and cutting down on the amount of pasta and diary in my diet.

Any exercise suggestions would be great. I want to try as many different exercises as possibly whilst I am off. Any suggestions for snacks to take when I got cycling would be great.
I am aiming to lose 15 pounds before I go back in September and the to continue losing weight until I’m about 145 pounds or less as I haven’t decided on a goal weight, I am 5ft 7 and no idea of my exact weight, last time I checked it was 165 pounds. I just want to lose weight until I feel like a comfortable size as I might not like how I look at 130 but 145 seems like a good start.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Addition by subtraction here.

Focus on just a few exercises that have a high metabolic effect.

So, focus on Squats, Push Ups, and Seated Cable Rows.

STOP PERFORMING CRUNCHES AND OTHER AB WORK.

Why?

Because crunches and ab work burn zero calories.

Carol asks…

How do I maintain weight loss after orthognathic surgery?

I had orthognathic surgery about 4 weeks ago and I lost about 20 lbs. Losing weight was neither here nor there for me, but now that I’ve lost it, I’ve realized this is a weight I’d like to maintain. Having the surgery means I haven’t eaten anything solid for a while. Also that my stomach has shrunken a lot from lack of food. I would like to know if it’s possible (When I can eat solid food again) to get on track to healthy eating while still being able to maintain maybe at least half my weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

That’s a great question, and I’m glad you enjoyed losing some pounds because I know that’s very common when you get this type of surgery. What I’ve found out from my Husband regarding this situation is he had a friend that also wanted to keep off this weight. What he did was actually pretty surprising… He stayed away from Low-Fat diet foods. It sounds crazy I’m sure, but come to find out, that really helped him to maintain the weight that he still has now. Trying to go on a Low Fat diet still makes us fatter and addicted to sugar. That’s what keeps the pounds on! If you like eating sandwiches, it’s best to eat 100% whole wheat w/ Romaine Lettuce, Do walk… As often as you can throughout the week. If you work at a place of business they have parking, park farther out than you normally park so you can get the quick exercise in. For more tips that will help you keep that weight off, go view my blog/website source, http://wp.me/p30O17-2 and http://oldschoolnewbody.com/5steps/. Michael asks…

which causes more weight loss- throwing up after you eat or the use of laxatives?

I know its wrong but im just curious from the people who have actually tried both who have had their temporary weight loss and who actually got skinny because of it. Ive heard laxatives dont make u any skinnier they just show a smaller number on the scale.
