Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Daniel asks…

What are some good food choices that have made you lose weight?

I’m asking for personal experience with foods that, along with a good workout routine, have proved helpful in aiding you lose weight. I am trying to figure out the most effective diet that I can in order to reach my goal body.

By the way, I am well aware of the fact that eating a certain deficit of calories will cause weight loss – but that’s not what I’m asking. I would simply like a list of foods that YOU have had experience with whilst losing weight.

Thank you 🙂

How can my 17-yr old girl friend lose weight fast this summer? Any healthy and easy suggestions?

She’s been working out, but she’s seen no changes still. Instead, she gets fat comments. She really feels bad. I want to find advices that can help her with her weight loss problem.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we’ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

Vary your routines. Don’t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn’t adjust to any one routine.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

Mark asks…

How can i get a Kim Kardashian body?

I’m setting a weight loss goal over the next 12 months. Muffin tops run in my family so that will be my biggest challenge. Any suggestions on how to target this area as I choose a workout plan?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Having recently lost 15 pounds, Kim Kardashian shared her celebrity diet secrets with the media. Kim lost two dress sizes after being mocked for having cellulite airbrushed out of one of her photos. As the official spokesperson for the diet pill QuickTrim, Kim gives most of the credit of her stunning weight loss to the pill. She states that QuickTrim “helped boost my metabolism and jump-started my weight loss”. But diet pills alone didn’t get her that smoking hot body. If you’d like to get a body like Kim Kardashian, read on to learn her diet secrets.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

1

Eat scheduled, portion controlled meals. Good eating habits are essential for achieving a body like Kim Kardashian’s. Her diet consists of 4 meals. For breakfast she has a protein smoothie or scrambled egg whites with veggies. Kim eats a light lunch, usually a simple salad with fat free dressing. Then for dinner, she eats a nutritious meal with plenty of fresh or steamed veggies and lean protein such as grilled chicken. At the end of the day Kim enjoys a small snack like low fat yogurt.

2

Get serious about exercise. Kim’s sexy body doesn’t come without work. It takes serious fitness dedication to score a celebrity body. Kim exercises for an hour every day. Her routine consists of a 10 minute cardio warmup (usually jogging on an incline), and a series of strength training moves for upper body, lower body and abs. Lunges are especially important in Kim’s workout for maintaining her signature booty. Be sure to incorporate plenty of lunges, squats and stepping exercises in your own work out if you want a butt like Kim’s! You can follow her workout routine at home by watching her fitness DVD “Kim Kardashian’s Fit in Your Jeans by Friday”.

3

Find yourself a weight loss buddy. Kim’s sister, Khloe, keeps her on track with her weight loss program. The Kardashian sisters used the buddy system to lose weight and continue to support each other in keeping the weight off. Studies have proven that people who have a weight loss partner and a good support system are far more likely to reach their fitness goals without giving up. Find a good weight loss buddy for yourself and the two of you can work together to get a hot body just like Kim’s.

If you have a skinny body and you’re not curvy then you can’t really have a body like her but i hope this helps:)

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Laura asks…

What other exercises should I add to my routine for weight loss?

Now that my term at university is coming to an end for summer I’ve decided to focus more on my weight loss as it has been the last thing on my mind recently. I’ve been more concerned with writing essays and revising and getting some sleep than going swimming 3-4 times a week because I feel it is more important. I’ve only been able to keep on top of doing some exercises to strengthen one of the muscles in my thigh to help my knee.

Whilst I am off over summer I plan to swim twice a week (Until I go on holiday where I hope to go swimming up to five times a week and do sets of 10 lengths of a 50m pool at a time), cycle 3-4 times a week for up to 3 hours, 30 minutes of Pilates. When I go back to university I am getting a year long gym membership and joining the cycling society and the swimming society.

For my diet I have cut out sugary foods, eating more fresh foods, eating more salads without salad dressing (Love salad without dressing), drinking sparkling water with cordial instead of fizzy diet drinks, drinking fruit tea and honey instead of a hot chocolate, and cutting down on the amount of pasta and diary in my diet.

Any exercise suggestions would be great. I want to try as many different exercises as possibly whilst I am off. Any suggestions for snacks to take when I got cycling would be great.
I am aiming to lose 15 pounds before I go back in September and the to continue losing weight until I’m about 145 pounds or less as I haven’t decided on a goal weight, I am 5ft 7 and no idea of my exact weight, last time I checked it was 165 pounds. I just want to lose weight until I feel like a comfortable size as I might not like how I look at 130 but 145 seems like a good start.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Addition by subtraction here.

Focus on just a few exercises that have a high metabolic effect.

So, focus on Squats, Push Ups, and Seated Cable Rows.

STOP PERFORMING CRUNCHES AND OTHER AB WORK.

Why?

Because crunches and ab work burn zero calories.

Carol asks…

How do I maintain weight loss after orthognathic surgery?

I had orthognathic surgery about 4 weeks ago and I lost about 20 lbs. Losing weight was neither here nor there for me, but now that I’ve lost it, I’ve realized this is a weight I’d like to maintain. Having the surgery means I haven’t eaten anything solid for a while. Also that my stomach has shrunken a lot from lack of food. I would like to know if it’s possible (When I can eat solid food again) to get on track to healthy eating while still being able to maintain maybe at least half my weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

That’s a great question, and I’m glad you enjoyed losing some pounds because I know that’s very common when you get this type of surgery. What I’ve found out from my Husband regarding this situation is he had a friend that also wanted to keep off this weight. What he did was actually pretty surprising… He stayed away from Low-Fat diet foods. It sounds crazy I’m sure, but come to find out, that really helped him to maintain the weight that he still has now. Trying to go on a Low Fat diet still makes us fatter and addicted to sugar. That’s what keeps the pounds on! If you like eating sandwiches, it’s best to eat 100% whole wheat w/ Romaine Lettuce, Do walk… As often as you can throughout the week. If you work at a place of business they have parking, park farther out than you normally park so you can get the quick exercise in. For more tips that will help you keep that weight off, go view my blog/website source, http://wp.me/p30O17-2 and http://oldschoolnewbody.com/5steps/. Michael asks…

which causes more weight loss- throwing up after you eat or the use of laxatives?

I know its wrong but im just curious from the people who have actually tried both who have had their temporary weight loss and who actually got skinny because of it. Ive heard laxatives dont make u any skinnier they just show a smaller number on the scale.
