I’m not asking how often, but how long every day. 30 minutes+?

If say I did run every day for that ideal amount of time, will it really work to lose weight?

Does anyone have a good meal plan to help with this? What to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner?

And I don’t gain weight easily…I eat quite a bit of unhealthy foods, and have for a while, and I’ve been waving around 145lb’s for over a year. I never exercise and do practically nothing every day.(I know, sad) Does this mean if I actually do something, it should be easy to lose that weight?

What I am trying to do is get rid of this potbelly. It’s horrible. Will running reduce the size of it?

I Walk Fast 30mins 3 times a week. It will really work…. I also jump rope 10mins a day everyday.

Powerade and Gaterade will only put the weight on you…because its nothing but sugar..and sugar turns into fat….. How do I get serious about losing weight?

I have wanted to lose weight for a long time, and right now, I need to for my health because all of the old people in my family have diabetes and I am only 18 but I want to do it now so it wont be passed onto me. And I have tried all kinds of diets. I tried the gum diet. Where you chew gum when you get a craving. I have tried the water diet, and the carb diet. I seem to lose like 40 pounds and then gain it all back. It sucks. I know why. Its because I work and go to school all the time, plus my diet is HORRIBLE, and I am lazy when it comes to going to the gym by myself. I get bored really easily. Its not that I want to wear Britney Spears skank clothes. I want to be healthy. And I want to be healthy before I have a baby. And I want a more exciting sex life. Well, you have many reasons why you want to lose the weight. I think the best reason is simply, for your health. Keep in mind that only YOU can do this–you’re in control here.

Instead of a diet, try making a lifestyle change. You know, no more junk foods, fast foods, sodas, sweets and candies. Throw the junk out and don’t buy anymore! Star eating 4-6 small healthy meals each day. Don’t forget about the fruits and veggies!
Drink water! It really does help with weight loss. If you have a soda craving, have a diet caffeine free soda. If it’s not caffeine free, you need to increase your water even more!
Of course, exercise! I hate going to the gym alone too. So instead, I go walking or ride my bike or play a sport—anything! Do what you like to do!

You have many great reasons why you should lose the weight. Don’t forget about those reasons! Keep a positive, I can attitude, set a goal (like I want to lose 7 pounds in 4 weeks) and go for it!! You CAN do this! And, believe me, it gets easier as the days go by!

Remember that a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week! Also, sometimes it helps to keep a food journal–write down what you eat, when you eat and how many calories you’re taking in. Sometimes we go into shock when we add those calories up at the end of the day, but it helps to see what we need to cut out.

It’s might be true, BUT very dangerous/harmful to the body system because if you don’t have enough energy to do the work out, then you’re going to wear your body out and pretty soon, you may end up in a hospital bed. Because you don’t eat, your body will go into minimum metabolism rate, where it will burn as LITTLE fat as possible to retain fuel sources. So by eating lesser, your body will retain that you eat longer and you won’t achieve any weight loss long-term.

What I did was I went on an “eating-only-corn-flakes” diet. XD I lost the weight really quickly (~25 lbs). After a 2-3 weeks of eating only corn flakes with regular milk for breakfast/lunch/dinner (NO snacks whatsoever). (You can try it with skim, 1%, or 2% milk to lose even more weight.) I went off the diet and started eating normal, and healthy foods, with A LOT of water and tons of fruits. I’m able to keep off the weight I’ve lost for ~6 years now. At summer camp, I’ve also went on a cereal-salad-and-skim milk “diet”. For breakfast, I would only eat grain cereal with skim milk and drink another glass. For lunch and dinner each day, I had only a salad and two glasses of skim milk per meal. Camp was only 5 days, but I lost a considerable amount of weight for my father to notice my weight loss. XD

Currently, I’ve been exercising on my “air-stepper” at home, and I get on it for 15 minutes each day to get my cardio workout. I take my pulse at 5 min. Intervals for 15 minutes to see if I’m improving. ^_^ Then, I get on my Total Gym and start working on my arms and legs (pulling, pushing, etc.). To tone my abs, I do 200 crunches (I lay on my Total Gym at an incline, so it’s VERY easy and no back strain!); they are much easier than sit-ups. ^_^ Lastly, I do 100 of those “standing-up” crunches. The lay down crunches and the standing up crunches that I do gave me the flat stomach I have now. ^____^ Very happy with the results. You can do as many as your body can tolerate for ONE day and feel your stomach flatter immediately afterwards (at least for me)! It’s incredible!

If you do not have gym equipment, just jumping around and running place for 15-30 minutes will get you your cardio workout. Eat yogurt, fruits, and other health foods. Drink tons of water and your daily dosage of milk. ^_^

Maybe i dont get it..I just thought – are you suppost to exericse and burn more calories than you eat? Like if you eat 1000 calores, your suppost to burn 1000 calories in exercise?

This can be a tricky subject. You burn calories with regular activities of daily living (ADL’s).
You should however do above your normal activities for at least 20 minutes a day. Depending on your fitness level you could start with 20 minutes of walking a day and either bump that up to a longer time or a higher intensity of fitness. For example from walking to running or from a leisurely bike ride to a high intensity bike ride.
You shouldn’t really burn more calories than you eat mind you because your body needs fuel just to work.
There are activity guides out there and depending on your age they can give you an idea. None of them however are written in stone.

Okay, so if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it please! So im 13 and around 125 pounds im also like 5’4-6ish im quite tall and really want to slim down my stomach. I always feel fat, and try to lose it but i cant always get rides to the gym and help from anyone around. Im leaving to mexico in March, and i really badly want to tone down so i can look good in a bikini on the beach. Well yeah i am 5’5 and i used to weight 160 and now i weigh 110. I played ps2 ddr and ate healthy.i lost weight before i knew it.Now there is zumba,mj experience,dance central ect…. You can use those games as well its not boring like lifting weights or walking on a tread mill. I played 1-3 a day or every other day and NOT on workout mode! (game mode you sweat faster and more fast paced). I ate fruits veggies meat(not red meat) stuff like that not packaged with preservatives i also ate canned fruit and veggies.DO NOT drink soda or alot of milk.stick to juice(with real sugar) and water.Do that and repeat for over a month and you’ll definitely see a difference

Firstly you can lose as much weight as you want in a short time period, however, you will gain it back. I am speaking from experience from someone who has been there done that with fad diets. There is the obvious liposuction, however, the recovery time is 3 – 6 months and it sounds as though that you’re in a rush to lose the weight for possibly an event with no downtime to spare. I am and have been on weight watchers for 2 years and lost 25 lbs. It was a slow and steady race, however, I haven’t gained the weight back ‘cause my diet has been stabilized and so was the weight loss from 0.5 – 1 lb/week.

Remember the weight gain didn’t happen overnight, it happened slowly over time, the same is with proper healthy weight loss, you can’t have/perform miracles over night.

These are some things that I do.

1.Drink lots of water as it kept me full longer.
2.Used an appetite suppressant like hoodie to make sure I don’t go over my daily calorie intake.
3.Did cardio and toning 3 – 4 times a week.
4.Made meal and recipe modifications as I cooked.
5.When I dined out, I made sure that I wasn’t shy about asking the kitchen to make modifications like dressing/sauce on the side, half portion ordered the kids meal etc.
6.Brushing teeth after every meal, the mint acts like an appetite suppressant and without the taste in your mouth, you can easily forget about the food.
7.Never drank diet cola, the aspartame actually made me crave food more for some reason.
8.At work I take a break before lunch and either take the stairs in the building or just general toning without weights. We have a gym at work so I do about 15 minutes of weights which not only gets my blood flowing but releases tension from a**hole customers.
9.Bought snacks in bulk (to save money) and properly measured what a cup or portion was and made individual baggies. There are some snacks on the market that are 100 calorie snacks, however, I find those to be too expensive than just buying in bulk and separating the portions yourself. Also by physically separating them yourself, you get an idea of what a portion is supposed to be and you learn to properly eye ball correct portions.

How did you lose the weight after the kid?

I was 110 when I gave birth to my child and now I’m a chunky monkey, I’m not over weight but I’d love to lose the weight. I stay at this weight but I wanna be back to 110 or at least close. Any GOOD tips, besides diet and exercise. I do that but I can’t effin lose the weight! Well all would help!

Well, I nursed my babies. Nursing requires an additional 500 calories per day to pull off, so as long as you drink plenty of water, and just eat normally the weight usually comes off fairly quickly and easily. If you can’t nurse the baby, or chose not to- then it really is a matter of time, exercise and diet. It takes a few weeks for the body to shift back to the non-pregnant mode of things, so the weight usually is slow at first. After two months or so though it should be back to normal. Now one word of caution- if you had the baby normally you have had a hip spread that put about an inch on the measurement. That inch isn’t going to disappear, so even if you do lose the weight you may find your skinny bum jeans will not fit. And they won’t ever fit again, either. You also tend to lose a little when the baby gets old enough to start moving around, and you have to keep up with the little darling. Sorry, but there still isn’t any good way to magically take off the pounds.
