What can I do to jumpstart my Weight loss?

My name is Ben and i am going to live with my grandparents for 6 months and i want to lose weight their and come back at a max of 250 ponds (I’m 300 now) can anyone give me any tips?…………..Real ones, not just the general. diet and exercise. like Maybe easy‘er exercises that make u lose more weight?
And im already on the atkins, wich i will most likly stay on for life. I already lost 30 pounds so.

Experts say a healthy weight loss is 2 pounds per week.

The misconception is that if you barely eat anything AND work out, you’ll lose weight. It’s might be true, BUT very dangerous/harmful to the body system because if you don’t have enough energy to do the work out, then you’re going to wear your body out and pretty soon, you may end up in a hospital bed. Because you don’t eat, your body will go into minimum metabolism rate, where it will burn as LITTLE fat as possible to retain fuel sources. So by eating lesser, your body will retain that you eat longer and you won’t achieve any weight loss long-term.

What you should do is change your eating habit to a healthier one and start exercising (people tell you this over and over because it WORKS!).

Disclaimer: I don’t recommend any diet to you or anyone, but I just wanted to share my experience. You should talk to your nutritionist/doctor before making any drastic changes to your body.

What I did was I went on an “eating-only-corn-flakes” diet. XD I lost the weight really quickly (~25 lbs). After a 2-3 weeks of eating only corn flakes with regular milk for breakfast/lunch/dinner (NO snacks whatsoever). (You can try it with skim, 1%, or 2% milk to lose even more weight.) I went off the diet and started eating normal, and healthy foods, with A LOT of water and tons of fruits. I’m able to keep off the weight I’ve lost for ~6 years now. At summer camp, I’ve also went on a cereal-salad-and-skim milk “diet”. For breakfast, I would only eat grain cereal with skim milk and drink another glass. For lunch and dinner each day, I had only a salad and two glasses of skim milk per meal. Camp was only 5 days, but I lost a considerable amount of weight for my father to notice my weight loss. XD

Currently, I’ve been exercising on my “air-stepper” at home, and I get on it for 15 minutes each day to get my cardio workout. I take my pulse at 5 min. Intervals for 15 minutes to see if I’m improving. ^_^ Then, I get on my Total Gym and start working on my arms and legs (pulling, pushing, etc.). To tone my abs, I do 200 crunches (I lay on my Total Gym at an incline, so it’s VERY easy and no back strain!); they are much easier than sit-ups. ^_^ Lastly, I do 100 of those “standing-up” crunches. The lay down crunches and the standing up crunches that I do gave me the flat stomach I have now. ^____^ Very happy with the results. You can do as many as your body can tolerate for ONE day and feel your stomach flatter immediately afterwards (at least for me)! It’s incredible!

If you do not have gym equipment, just jumping around and running place for 15-30 minutes will get you your cardio workout. Eat yogurt, fruits, and other health foods. Drink tons of water and your daily dosage of milk. ^_^

Quick question about weight loss. Easy 10 pts?

Maybe i dont get it..I just thought – are you suppost to exericse and burn more calories than you eat? Like if you eat 1000 calores, your suppost to burn 1000 calories in exercise?

This can be a tricky subject. You burn calories with regular activities of daily living (ADL’s).
You should however do above your normal activities for at least 20 minutes a day. Depending on your fitness level you could start with 20 minutes of walking a day and either bump that up to a longer time or a higher intensity of fitness. For example from walking to running or from a leisurely bike ride to a high intensity bike ride.
You shouldn’t really burn more calories than you eat mind you because your body needs fuel just to work.
There are activity guides out there and depending on your age they can give you an idea. None of them however are written in stone.

easy points for weight loss help! PLEASE!?

Okay, so if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it please! So im 13 and around 125 pounds im also like 5’4-6ish im quite tall and really want to slim down my stomach. I always feel fat, and try to lose it but i cant always get rides to the gym and help from anyone around. Im leaving to mexico in March, and i really badly want to tone down so i can look good in a bikini on the beach. I know losing weight is like healthy diets and exercises but what meals could i eat? what exercises can i do, that will help me lose in 2 months ? i am tired of all the comments and hiding my body under loser clothing. I want to tone my tummy and get rid of my love handless my arms are great and i wouldn’t mind toning my legs. My whole family is VERY skinny except me which makes me feel out of place and i get made fun of. Please help me if you know something that will work and not jus something like jennycraig which i have to pay for. Do you have meal plans and exercises i can do day to day that will help me lose arround 15-25 pounds in eight weeks. ? i have alot of energy. Thanks .(:

Well yeah i am 5’5 and i used to weight 160 and now i weigh 110. I played ps2 ddr and ate healthy.i lost weight before i knew it.Now there is zumba,mj experience,dance central ect…. You can use those games as well its not boring like lifting weights or walking on a tread mill. I played 1-3 a day or every other day and NOT on workout mode! (game mode you sweat faster and more fast paced). I ate fruits veggies meat(not red meat) stuff like that not packaged with preservatives i also ate canned fruit and veggies.DO NOT drink soda or alot of milk.stick to juice(with real sugar) and water.Do that and repeat for over a month and you’ll definitely see a difference
