Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mandy asks…

How to find a blog community?

So I’ve started on my weight loss, healthy living journey! I am doing it on my own but don’t want to be totally alone. I have read that joining a “weight loss community” or “blog community” is very helpful, but I have no idea how to find one or how they work. Does anyone have any tips?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Try asking this in a different category: Health – Diet and Fitness would work better than the Community Service Category you put this under.

You could also try an Internet search for the terms you are looking for.

Laura asks…

How does added all affect weight loss?

I have ADD and was prescribed adderall as a daily medicine. I take one 20mg pill a day, and I just started today. I’m already seeing the side affects. I want to move around more, I’m more concentrated, and the one that effects me most is weight loss. I didn’t eat all day because I just don’t have an appetite, I constantly feel full. I’m a little worried because I don’t want to lose too much weight or mess up my metabolism. (I’m 15 so my metabolism is already pretty quick) but i do want to stay healthy.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I have a lot of friends who lost appetite/weight on adderall. If I were you, I would talk to your doctor, and tell them basically what you just said.

Try to eat some high-calorie healthy foods, like nuts, avocados, and protein shakes if you want to get in those calories without too much food, so you don’t feel so full. Make sure you are eating throughout the day… Try smoothies and shakes if it’s hard to get food down!

Fitness and weight loss online journal or community?

I’m looking for a website that can help track my progress in a weight loss program without telling me what to do. I just want a place that will keep a food journal and keep track of the exercise I’ve been doing. Maybe a place to keep a blog or share it with other people who are trying to lose weight. Does anyone know of a place like this? I just looked at FitDay but I didn’t really like it. Any suggestions? Of course if it’s free that would be awesome!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think slimfast has one. It shows you what to do but you can modify it and insert what you did.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

how can i lose this weight easily?

okay, i’m 15. i’m 5’2 in a half. 136 lbs. and kyna hippy/thick. not the nasty lookin’ thick, but it’s noticeable. i wanna lose b/c technically i’m overweight, and i really wanna be a healthy weight for my size. how can i lose it easily?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Diet´s don´t help at all,
So I do not recommend you do that,

My mom is a neurologist, and the easiest way to lose weight is to make a balanced healthy ´diet´,

Don´t cut off ALL junk food, it´s bad for your body to not get sugar and things like that,

If you get craving for say, M&M´s, eat a couple, not the whole bag,
there´s also many ways you can reduce high fat foods to healthier and flavorfull meals.

Excersise is not entirely necesary, but it speeds up the lose weight, and it keeps you healthy and it shape, so you can try that too.

I know this because I myself was slightly overweight, thankfully, im now at a ´normal´ size for my height -5´6 and a half, and 142-

Hope it helps~

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Laura asks…

How to lose weight in one mouth?

I have always been a little big for my age and i would love to lose some weight before school starts in a mouth, i always try to lose weight by going for walks. I would love to have some tips to keep myself going. And also if it would be easier to throw up once and awhile after eating. PLEASE HELP?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Step 1:This one is easy, to lose weight now, you must drink a minimum of 96 ounces of water every day. This will help you eat less and cleanse your body. Step 2:Replace your snacks with fruits and vegetables to lose weight now.Step 3:Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes, make it a date with your friend. Take a brisk walk or jog around the neighborhood. Play a game of basketball or tennis. Try to work towards 60 minutes daily. But, at least get exercise for 4 days of the week if you want to lose weight now – minimum.Step 4:Make a poster for motivation – add your ending weight goal and keep track of your weight loss progress each week.

Steven asks…

What is the best way to lose a few pounds in two weeks?

I just want to look my best and do not want to do Master Cleanse. My co-worker and I tried it and couldn’t last the morning 🙂 I am 5’3″ and am 127 lbs, a little overweight. What are some small things I could do to look better in two weeks? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Okay…I only started two Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 10 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. Of course I watch what I eat and the Lean Cuisine meals are great for that since the calories per box are 180 to 380 per box. Just make sure you eat healthy every three to four hours so your body will perform at its max.

Here it is:

Helpful Tips for weight loss:

1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) …and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn’t seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body’s principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day

Maria asks…

Will a detoxing diet help you lose fat or just water weight?

If i go on a detoxing diet, i want to lose fat. So i will be working out for atleast an hour a day too. Detoxing diets seems like it only helps you lose water weight.

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you want to lose fat, why detox? Detox doesn’t work, never worked, is not possible, and never has been possible. You can lose fat simply by eating a healthy diet and cutting portions to create a caloric deficit. The detox myth is not about fat, it’s about some silly idea that you can purify your body.

There is no diet which will cause your body to get rid of toxins, heavy metals, poisonous by-products from smoking, drugs, etc. And cleanses for the purpose of weight loss don’t work because they can only eliminate water and small amounts of waste which the body will replace very quickly.

Check out the following references because you’ve probably been getting your information from unreliable sources.

“‘Cleansing’ diets may be worthless”
http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/detox-diets-purging-myths

“A day on a detox diet program probably won’t hurt you, but there’s little point in following these restrictive diets – and they can do far more harm than good, says Michelle May, MD,”
http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=64306

“Detox diets are a waste of time and money, say scientists”
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article784402.ece

“The human body can defend itself very
well against most environmental insults and the effects of occasional indulgence. If you’re generally healthy, stick to giving your body what it needs to maintain its own detox system— a healthful diet, adequate fluid intake, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and all recommended medical check-ups. Don’t waste your money…follow a healthy, balanced lifestyle instead.”
Ref: http://www.lee-county.com/gov/dept/HumanResources/Wellness_Newsletters/Aug%2008.pdf

You can find your own links debunking the detox diets, master cleanses, and other such nonsense by Googling “detox diet myth” or searching USA.gov for your appropriate key words.

The way to detox is to stop ingesting toxins and let your body cleanse itself naturally. If you have, for example, THC in your blood from smoking pot, there is no food, no flush, no purge, no cleanse that will make it go away. Your body will metabolize and excrete it naturally given sufficient time. The best diet for all normal adults hasn’t changed. It is still a varied, balanced, nutritious, and properly apportioned diet of high quality foods. Forget detox. If you want to burn fat, do this.

Eat a diet of varied, wholesome, and high quality foods such that your daily caloric intake is about 500 calories less than your daily caloric burn while keeping your macronutrient ratios at about 55/25/20 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein) and not doing anything to defeat the foregoing plan such as taking supplements, drinking alcohol, abusing drugs, using cleanses or emetics, etc. That’s it. It’s that simple.

Here’s the only two websites you need to do that.
1. This site has a wide range of information about foods, fat, diets, and exercise with calculators, diet tips, food facts, etc. —> http://www.freedieting.com/

2. This website is a great way to track calories, macronutrients, water, and exercise. It also does all the math for you and makes it super easy to look up foods to enter into your online food intake diary. There’s a discussion forum where you can exchange info with thousands of other dieters. —>http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

Here’s my food intake diary as an example —> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/clickmaster

Good luck and good health!!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mandy asks…

Is there a moral religion without the belief in a literal deity?

Similar to Buddhism, is there a religion that follows these standards?

It can’t require the belief in a literal deity, but more so a theoretical one, that being mother nature(similar to Wicca?).

It can’t require the belief in consciousness after death.

It understands spiritual enlightenment as the greatest goal and achievement.

It recognizes wisdom and peace as a practice.

It has high moral standards.

Not looking to partake in said religion, just doing some religious studies.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Mackenzie is incorrect. Not all wiccans believe that the gods are literal beings nor does polytheism in general require that the gods be literal beings. Wicca is not about the worship of gods in the same manner that the Abrahamic faiths are. There is nothing at all in Wiccan dogma that states that wiccans must seek to have a personal relationship with a personal god. That is peculiarly an evangelical born-again concept and relates to born again christians and their relationship with Jesus. How that applies to Wicca which is a religion totally separate from Christianity I have no idea. In other words, if Mackenzie chooses to believe she can foster a close relationship with an old woman in a grey cloak by chanting to Hecate thru ritual that’s her prerogative, but if others chose to honor an ancient and useful archetype and psychologically align our purpose with its useful symbolism through our ritual it’s still well within the guidelines of Wicca.

I challenge Mackenzie and her ilk to show the wiccan dogma which says otherwise or which states that her way is the better way or approved way or for that matter the majority way since most wiccans have never even be counted in a census let alone polled. Lets leave the public snide comments about another individual’s beliefs and practices to the Christians and concentrate on our own spiritual well being instead of gainsaying another’s by declaring that it only hovers around the ultimate truth of our own perspective. Enough said.

William asks…

What is the difference between a deity and a god?

Some use the two words interchangeably, but the fact that some cultures refer to their “gods” as deities refer than gods clearly makes me think there’s a difference. Take Tibet. Deities is how they refer to what would otherwise be called gods.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think there is a slight difference, though the words are often synonymous. A god is a deity, whereas a deity may not necessarily be a god. A deity is often defined as a supernatural being; having divine powers or a divine nature.

Take the Greek myths for example. Zeus is a god, the supreme ruler on Mount Olympus. However, the nymphs of natural phenomena, while nature goddesses in their own right, were not typically (or always) seen or referred to as goddesses, but rather, they were the personification or manifestation of that area of nature. Calypso, who held Odysseus captive for seven years, is usually referred to as a nymph rather than a goddess, though she is immortal and possessed divine powers. One might also consider a demigod such as Achilles as a deity. He was not a god, but because his mother was a nymph, he was semi-divine.

I think a lot of it also largely depended on the cult or worship. Gods usually had their own cult centers or areas of worship (Apollo in Delphi, for example), or a system of practices to pay homage. Minor deities, such as nymphs, were not often venerated as gods or goddesses, so usually did not.

Joseph asks…

(Mythology) How can a deity be both human and divine?

Could you explain this to me? Hamilton once said that in Greek myths, deities were human for the first time. So how can a deity be both human and divine? Also if possible, could you please explain if there’s a paradox in the Greek system of belief, and if it provides a useful way of understanding the world. Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

In Egyptian mythology the tradition of Divine Kingship was very important. The God-Kings were the intermediaries between the gods/goddesses and the people of ancient Egypt. The kings were able to make claim to their kingships through divine association. The kings’ names reveal this bond, as well as reliefs that show the kings in communication with deities. By the Fifth Dynasty we find the kings calling themselves the sons of Ra. Btw, the Egyptians had an established religion long before the Greeks. The site below actually gives some good information on the subject.
