Mandy asks…

How do I get rid of little curled up black worms I find on my home’s carpet, and what are they?

My apartment frequently experiences little black worms that curl up in a sort of half-moon circle when touched. They show up on my carpet and patio. Can you tell me what they are and how to get rid of them?

weight loss cardiff answers:

They are probably pill bugs or more scientific name Armadillidiidae
These arthropods commonly feed on decaying vegetation and are found under logs, garbage pails or any other place where moisture can be found. Moisture is essential to pill bugs due to their breathing organs, which are like gills. Pill bugs, although often thriving in damp areas, have often been known to live in dry beds. Pill bugs’ defensive posture is curling up into a ball.

Usually the diet of pill bugs, sow bugs, wood lice, potato bugs, and the numerous other names these crustaceans go by is decaying vegetative waste not live plant tissue. They will, however, eat live plant tissue if there is not enough other food available, so rather than kill these normally beneficial crustaceans put down the proper food source for them and they will help improve your soil instead of destroying your garden.

They are part the ecosystem they won’t go away but if they do they your plants might suffer because they help clean the soil and keep its moisture

John asks…

What kind of diet does a sugar glider need?

I don’t need to know that 20-25 percent of their diet is compromised of protein, I need to know what brand of food you feed, how much, where you would find that food, and what other foods you feed your glider on a daily basis. Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The site posted is not a good one in my opinion. That Leadbeaters recipe is missing some VERY important ingredients. There is no brand of food that you buy them. Some people offer a staple food 24 hours a day but most do not do that. PetSmart has a can of sugar glider pellets.
Waste of money and their are sites out there that has pellet foods available. Http://www.sugar-gliders.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SSG&Product_Code=9005&Affiliate=GZook&WT.mc_n=GZook

I do not offfer this cause my suggies do not eat it. They need a variety of foods.

I have had suggies for years now they get fruits, veggies, BML etc this is what I have posted for others. It is the recipe for BML and a list of fruites and veggies.

Do not add the rep-cal on their fruits and veges daily. That should be in their BML and BML it is not a mix of fruits of veggies. They should be geting rep-cal calcium and rep-cal herptivite (vitamins)
When we feed our suggies we give fresh fruit and veggies and BML mix every night. We just let the BML thaw while in the cage.
I do not offer my Suggies worms or dry food (24 access) they do not touch it. And has become a waste of money. So it depends on the suggie.
Besides water we also offer daily Sugar Glider Aid/Nectur

The BML recipe we use. It includes the rep-cal We have used this will all our suggies.
