The Risks of Losing Weight? Please Help?
Hey guys, recently I’ve chosen to lose weight, I want to lose 30-40 lbs so I can be around 120 lbs. But if I do lose weight, will my strength be gone? Strength as in being able to pick heavy stuff up and in rare cases hit people; self defense. I don’t want to lose weight if that means losing strength as well and becoming weak. Will I lose strength if I lose weight?

Losing weight fast is not a good idea. Weight lost that way generally piles back on afterwards. There is no magic about losing weight: eat sensibly (check out the many websites on ‘healthy eating plans’); exercise more, by, for example, cycling, swimming, brisk walking. Another tip is to drink water throughout the day. This is extremely helpful for keeping your system well and for making you feel fuller, especially if you drink water before main meals. Don’t call your eating regime a ‘diet’, this can put you at a psychological disadvantage. I think you will be surprised at how the weight will come off, if you stick to your plan. You would probably lose a good bit of weight for the first couple of weeks and then expect it come off at about the rate of 2lbs per week, which is the recommended regular weight loss.
