Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

How much should I walk a day on a treadmill while pregnant?

I’m 8 weeks pregnant. I purchased a treadmill today to stay fit, get healthier, and relieve stress. I sit at home everyday and don’t get excercise at all. I walked 1 mile on it today at 2.5 mph, it felt great. I’m wandering how many miles is ok to get healthier while pregnant. I’m not trying to lose weight or anything like that, I eat like pig. I just want to relieve this awful anxiety and be a healthier person! im excited with my treadmill 🙂 Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and I usually walk on the treadmill about 20 to 30 minutes on 3.0-3.5. It just depends how I feel on that day. Congratulations!

James asks…

Is it okay that I want to lose weight before getting pregnant?

My husband and I planned to start trying to conceive in January. I am currently 5’ 8” and weigh 160 lbs. I am 20 lbs heavier than I was last year due to severe stress that now has been dealt with and now I am trying to lose the weight.

I want to lose 15-20 lbs before getting pregnant because I don’t want to be 180-200 lbs while pregnant. I feel that if I weigh less when I get pregnant, then I will have a more fit and healthy pregnancy.

Has anyone else lost weight before getting pregnant? My husband thinks its stupid because I will gain it all back, but I am concerned about being at an unhealthy weight while at the height of my pregnancy.

Any advice?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Its not stupid to want to lose the wieght, your husband is wrong! The weight gain in pregnancy puts a strain on the body so it makes perfect sense to lose the extra lbs before you conceive. It will of course improve your chances of conception to (healthy diet etc!).
Start taking folic acid supplement now.

Maria asks…

Is it OK to take collagen supplements internally, while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Ive read such great things about taking collagen. I cant imagine it not being beneficial as it makes up 65 percent of the protien in our bodies. I want to take it because Im noticing fine lines around my eyes, and my hair is dry, brittle and thinning a little bit. Ive read great reviews on it helping with energy, weight loss, muscle gain, antiaging, hairgrowth, joint pain.. etc.. (not that Im trying to lose weight at the moment) Does anyone know if it is OK to take while pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Collagen supplements are not suitable for pregnant or nursing women.

Wanting to lose weight while pregnant?

Ok. I’m 19 weeks pregnant and doing wonderful so far! I was curious to see though if it’s possible to work out my arms and get them really toned while I’m still pregnant. Would it be harmful to my body while being pregnant to lift weights? I mean, how can i lose weight in my arms and tone other areas of my body while pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes you can, go to a local gym and talk to a trainer, but check with your doctor first.

Donna asks…

Can a really fat person lose weight while pregnant?

Has that ever been known to happen? By the way I’m 5’2″ and 125 lbs so this question has nothing to do with me or anybody I know.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes my mother always tells me a story about one of her old coworkers who was obese then became pregnant, as her pregnancy progressed she dieted and exercised and lost weight, apparently no-one noticed she was pregnant until she went on maternity leave because as she lost fat her uterus became larger!

George asks…

Is it okay to lose weight while your pregnant?

I know for some people its not safe but listen to my story first and tell me what you think. Okay im 221 Ibs. But if I myself and the baby gets enough to eat is it safe for me to lose weight while im pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Listen, I was 230 when I got preg. You can eat healthy and keep the weight gain down, exercise and take the vitamins. You need to concentrate and making the best environment for your child while inside you instead of worring about. I know you would like to loose weight as I did but, i only gained 25 lbs which is not that bad. Just eat healthy, you are going to gain some weight it is not unavoidable. You can loose some but you need to think of having the most healthy pregnancy that you can. The nutrients that you take in is what makes your baby what he/she is. You dont want to overload yourself with fattning foods and sugars, you will be fine. And if you breastfeed you won’t believe how you will lost the weight and faster then you would otherwise. As soon as this baby is born you can go ahead and start on a strick weight losing schedule, and plus the healthy eating and the exercise will be great for the child to see since you will continue after the baby is old enough to eat and exercise with you. Enjoy this time and don’t worry. Having a healthy child is more important then anything else right now.
