Should I not eat for one week to lose weight?

I am 15 year old male and about 5’8″-5’9″. I weigh about 187-190 pounds. I am overweight but not obese. My BMI is about 28. Is it alright if I don’t eat for a week to lose weight? I have tried exercising by running on the treadmill everyday for twenty minutes to half an hour at steep incline but notice no change in my weight. So should I fast for a week to lose some weight?

No, don’t do that. Do eat, but eat the healthy way. Eat mostly fruits and vegetables, nuts, fish, chicken. Cut out soda and high sugary drinks and stick to mostly water.

Vary your workout routine. Personally, I like exercising outdoors. Maybe you could try running outdoors and mixing it up with walking. If you own a bicycle, get that out and bike away. (I once lost over 20 pounds by biking everyday). Lift some free weights, as this will increase your metabolism. If you don’t own any weights, at least do pushups.

ive been breastfeeding for six months and the weight doesnt seem to be coming off but i have such an appetite ive been eating like crazy! I eat lots of healthy foods (lots of veggies,fruits, whole grains) while eating some of my unhealthy cravings too once in a while. I wanna cut back a little and exercise a little more-right now im only exercising like 2-3 times a week. Would it be safe to lose about 2-5 pounds a week?

Something most women do not realize is that a lactating moms body instinctively carries an extra 5-10 pounds of extra fat as a defense mechanism to help you make great milk.
Then when you wean, that weight melts off with absolutely no effort.
Losing too much weight can make you ill. And go light on the workouts, if you get super sore from a big workout, it can cause lactic acid to make you milk taste nasty.
All in all, I never suggest anything more than 2-3 times a week of LIGHT workouts for my new moms. You have the rest of your life to lose the weight, enjoy the baby for now.

Like, how much water weight can you lose before you start losing the fat? I have been dieting and working out, and lost 10 lb this past 2 weeks – but I am pretty sure almost all of that is water weight. Is it possible to lose 10 lb of just water? I am 5’1 and weighed 142 lb when I started.

That is good 10lbs is not bad. I think that is a sign that you can lose your weight in short period of time. 5 lbs water weight that you can lose is enough for two to three weeks (my personal experience)

I am relatively thick. Decent size butt hips thighs very shapely. I want to make maintain my waistline and possibly make it smaller but when i lose weight I tend to lose it all over. If you have a sitting job, stand up and stretch yourself every half an hour. Most of the jobs today are indeed sitting jobs that are in one word sedentary. This is especially true for those who sit and punch away at the keyboard or toy with the mouse all day long. So if you have such a job, make it a point to get up at least every half an hour and stretch your self.

How to lose 8 pounds of just fat is easy with these 5 or 6 simple steps. Some steps might actually make you stronger;

1.Eat when you are hungry: because if you eat when you are full you are just stretching your stomach tissue and if you starve yourself that’s when you lose muscle and your body will expect you to keep starving yourself which slows down your metabolism.

2.Take your time: when you eat fast you want to eat more because you cant tell when you are full. If you eat slow you will realize you are full when you are full.

3.Take walks and drink water: walks are a pretty easy exercise but it is still exercise and drinking water cleanses your body and if you drink a cup of water before every meal you won`t eat as much.

4.No artificle stuff: soda is horrible when your on a diet this may sound weird but especially diet soda. Diet stuff is the exact opposite of what it sounds it may have less calories but all the chemicals in it make up for that.(Also an other reason people say you also lose muscle mass and strength.)

5.Abs: when you are relaxing like watching TV if you sit it a position like this your abs will burn fat _/. Also slow leg lifts help too.

6.Thyroid?:If you do not lose any weight in 5 weeks ask your doctor if you have thyroid.

im 11 and im about 150 pounds but im also about 5″7 i know im a little over weight. i jump on the trampoline for about 2 hrs a day. i eat a lot tho. i dont eat that unhealthy. but im not the most healthy person.

If your on a trampoline every day, then one or two days go out running or swimming. This will help make your muscles work harder and burn more calories.

i go on the treadmill half an hour (jogging) 3 to 4 times a week..i drink water and eat healthy i also use toning balls for my arms…how come my weight loss hasn’t been drastic? i’ts only a little bit.. i mean i’m so young…don’t kids lose weight easily? its getting soooo fustrating
half an hour a day accompanied with a good diet has shown results. and at 15 should i really be doing more than half an hour a day? i’m not even obese. I’m just concerned its because my metabolism might be slow…

Can I lose weight this way? 10 points easy!?

Could I lose weight easily if i eat normally throughout the day,a normal breakfast,lunch and dinner and drink nothing but cold water,no juice,sodas etc? I need to lose about 50lbs at least and have been drinking cold water throughout the day and eating refular meals but cutting out bad sugars such as cookies,cake and soft drinks. Will this make me lose weight? if i continue this how much could i possibly lose in 1 month? cant go to gym because im a stay at home mom with 4 kids while my husband works so can only do home excersises which is usually chasing my kids..lol

From experience I have learned that doing this will definitely loose some weight. Just by reducing the quantity of sugar and unnecessary calories some weight will be lost. I still recommend that you use exercise. What you can do is try to spend more time playing with your kids actively, sports, walking the dog, even the game console wii is a good way to stand up and move a bit. Some chores are able to help you maintain weight but in the end to loose these many pounds you need to do more physical activity. You also need to consider the quality and quantity of your meals, if a normal size breakfast is to high in caloric value you will not loose any weight. Try to eat a varied diet consisting mostly of fruits and vegetables, this is always the best. Recommendation.
