Ken asks…
Can my sister lose weight while she is pregnant?
My sister is over weight she is three months pregnant and wanting to lose weight. She is afraid that she’ll put on alot of weight and after the baby comes it will be very hard for her to loose it. Is it safe for her to loose weight while pregnant?
she weighs 250 lbs. she is five foot three. I know you arent supposed to loose lots and lots of weight but if she lost twenty thirty pounds but was still eating (just healthier) would that harm the child?

Uhm… NO it is not safe to try and lose weight while pregnant. Tell her to eat healthy and exercise to avoid gaining a lot.
EDIT: it does not matter how overweight she is, she should not TRY to lose weight while pregnant. I was 200 at the beginning of my first three pregnancies and only gained 15 with the first two and 25 with the twins, i lost it the minute they were born, and then some after wards.
All she can do now is eat healthy and exercise, she can work on losing weight after the baby gets here. I have a friend who is 280 and her baby is just fine!

is it ok for you to lose weight while pregnant?
i had my son 11 months ago. i might be pregnant now. i have still not lost all of the weight i gained from the last pregnancy. if i am pregnant i am going to start eating really healthy and walking more. but i will lose weight in the the process. is that safe while pregnant?

It’s usually fine if you lose a little weight as long as you’re not trying to lose weight. Dieting is never recommended during pregnancy. Eating healthy and exercising wouldn’t count as dieting to me, so I’d say it’s just fine. Just make sure you’re eating when you’re hungry and not overdoing it exercise wise. Good luck 🙂
