I am 14 (and weigh 130 lbs) and i would like to lose some of the excess body fat around my thighs and stomach/midsection…I would also like to tone the muscles i already have. Any suggestions for a HEALTHY effective workout schedule?

btw, i am not that “sporty” and i overheat easily (which means im also bad at running long distances). But i am willing to try any sports or anything that anyone thinks will help…

I suggest u not to eat ice creams and things like that becoz they make u gain alot of weight.And also dont eat too much junk food and even if u are not a sports person u might need to exercise daily and drink almost 2 glasses of water before ur meal so that u will feel that ur stomatch is full. Does lifting weights help you lose weight quickly?

I know that it obviously helps you tone your body, but i am in a contest needing to lose 30 lbs the fastest way possible…effectively too… and i need to see the number on the scale change to win… i hear that you can lose inches but gain weight when lifting weights… i want to lift weights but see that number change. what is the best way to see the number change, along with my body appearance.

Yes it helps you lose weight in fact more than cardio does. Cardio is terrible for losing weight in comparison. 5 miles of jogging is equivalent to approx 800 calories whereas you can easily burn that and more in a hour lifting session. Specifically you need to eat less calories than you burn and cut down on carbs. It can add muscle weight but it’s not as easy and efficient as you think. Bodybuilders eat tons and we gain weight very slowly. That and lose your water weight (through partial dehydration) several days before the weigh in and and you’ll see the numbers drop for contest. Don’t listen to the people that say no because they obviously don’t lift weights.
