How do you care for a Horseshoe Crab?
Does anyone know how to take care of a horseshoe crab? i already know their diet (mostly worms, shrimp, etc.), but is there anything specific that they need? Should their tank be completely filled with water, or should their be a land area, too? Do they need a special type of water? How big should the tank be? Please, help!

These are animals best left in the ocean. They need to have a large area without rocks where they can burrow in the substrate, which isn’t a problem at the size when you buy them, but they’ll grow to arouns 12″ across and 18″ long. They don’t have much flexibility and the only one I bought kept getting itself stuck in corners in the rockwork and couldn’t figure out how to get itself out.
They are completerly aquatic (marine), and will eat just about anything that falls on the bottom. No land areas are needed, just plenty of open bottom. Knowing what I do from the one I’ve kept, I would raise any live rock off the bottom by using PVC legs to rest the rock upon (three legs per rock) at lest 2 inches high and stable enough that the rocks won’t topple if something burrows into the substrate.
Since these are from the ocean, you’d need everything used in setting up a saltwater tank. This means getting sea salt mix and a hydrometer so you mix the water to the correct salt concentration, heater, filter, etc.
