Donna asks…
Can a dwarf puffers main diet be blood worms? EASY 10 POINTS?
i got one dwarf puffer because i had a massive pond snail infestation in my community tank. at first i was worried after hearing about their aggressive temper, but its been in their for about 1-2 weeks now, and its not nipping at any fins. i added a few more plants so it can establish its own territory, and i think it likes it, it mostly stays by those plant, and hides in it when the other fishes are being mean. so any ways. in a matter of weeks, i had no pond snails left, and its belly was really sucked in, and not roundish as usual, so i was worried it’ll starve to death. so after i begged my parent for like 3days, they let me buy some blood worms, which they looked at in disgust. “they hate bugs”… anyhow, i was wondering if a dwarf puffers main diet be blood worms? because i dont have any other foods except pellets, flakes, and freeze dried, which i have already all tried. my puffer eats the blood worms realy well, but i was wondering if its safe to feed it blood worms everyday?
oh and also i have a 20 gallon tank with 2 neon tetras, 4 platty, 5 guppies, 2 sucker fish, and now the puffer. i give them a 1/3 water change every weekend, and i clean the gravel every week end as well. i have a heater that i keep at 80f, a filter, and a bubbler. i also have plenty places to hide. do you think my puffer will be fine??
ONE more question, can i feed all my other tropical fish in the tank (platy and guppies) blood worms everyday as well? or should i switch off from flake to bloodworms? and if i shoudnt feed them everysday, how ofte should i feed them blodd worms? lol srry for all the questions!
PLEASSEE answer ALL questionn for easy 10 POINTS<3
weight loss cardiff answers:
I feed mine live black worms, live brine shrimp, live snails (the size of their eyes), and live ghost shrimp. They also enjoy frozen blood worms. The live food I drop into their tanks and watch the puffers hunt down their food, as they would in the wild. The frozen blood worm (thawed) I feed through a dropper. The dominant male will eat first, then the others follow suit, sometimes taking the worms right out of each others mouth! The least dominant wait their turn.”
