I am a homemaker of 2 children and was wondering what is the best way to lose 15lbs.?

my mother is coming to visit in 2 months. I have not seen her in two years because she lives across the country. I would like to lose 15 pounds. Does any body have any fast weight loss success stories?

What was the breaking point for you to decide to lose weight?

Do you have a success story? How are you working toward your weight loss goal? How much have you lost so far? How much are you trying to lose? What types of food are eating? Are you exercising? If so, what kind of exercise?

I started w/ a strict diet just to jump start myself. Once I lost 3lbs, I felt more motivated and started to workout. Some cardio, but not too much b/c I don’t like it. Believe it or not, lifting weights like the guys do, bench press, power clean, lunges, and leg press burn MAJOR calories. The reason is that these exercises use so many muscles at one time, as compared to the “girl exercises” that use a lot of isolation. When it comes to eating, you have to be yourself. People say eat 6 meals a day. Yes, it does work, but I don’t have time or energy to prepare six meal/snacks. So I fell off that wagon pretty quickly. Also, “diet tips” say eat your heavier meals early in the day and eat a light supper. Again, this works, but if you eat breakfast at your desk or quickly before you leave the house–this is ridiculous. My best advice is to save your calories for when you have the most time to enjoy them. For me, breakfast is on the run, so cereal and skim milk is fine. I stopped eating restaurant lunches at work–it wasn’t worth the calories (or money) when it goes by so quickly. I sit w/friends and drink a diet coke while they wolf down burgers. Then I eat my healthy lunch at my desk. At dinner I pretty much eat whatever I want. I try to be mostly healthy, but if it’s a favorite food (lasagna), I go right ahead and eat it. I just eat only 1/3 of my normal portion. Not feeling deprived has helped me stick w/ it and drop 25 lbs in 3 months. Eat 10 calories per lb of body weight a day to help lose weight while you’re toning up. And get some lean protein in that diet! Good luck.
