Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mary asks…

What are some important components of a successful weight loss plan?

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what are some good ways to help people lose weight?

For instance, if you were to create a weight loss program what would be something that you would make sure to emphasis or implement?

Thanks in advance for your time.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The most critical aspect of a weight loss program is selecting foods that are nutritionally rich and lower in calories.

I lost 80 pounds by simply changing to a low-fat whole plant based diet as described by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr. I do exercise, but I learned through experience that diet is far more important than the level of activity. That being said, I do exercise moderately for about one hour each day. Weight training is also a good way to build muscle rather than fat. The volume of tissue created with the same number of calories is seven times more for fat than muscle. I’d rather have an additional pound of muscle rather than seven pounds of fat.

I also learned that maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle change. You don’t keep weight off by joining Weight Watchers for one year. Most victims of commercial weight loss programs learn that they cannot keep the weight off for more than about a year or two. Atkins and calorie restricted diets also do not work for the vast majority of people. (Kolata)

Michael asks…

What’s the most effective weight loss program out there?

So I’m trying to loss some serious weight before my wedding date, which is 7 months from now. Can anyone recommend a good weight loss program?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m.
I know a woman who lost 60 pounds a month on it. She did nothing else!

Mark asks…

Why does the weight loss program discourage exercise?

I’m on this weight loss program and they say not to exercise too much since I’m only eating 1200 calories. why do they discourage much needed exercise? Isn’t it healthy?
I want to work out 5 times a week one hour a day on the elliptical and I know I will have better results…do you think this is a good Idea, I’m also a bit used to it
Yeah…I thinking money…..

weight loss cardiff answers:

They say a body needs 900 calories (minimum) to function properly. If you are burning more than 300 calories in exercise, there’s your reason…

I would suggest you increase your caloric intake by how much you plan to burn off (on the treadmill/elliptical/whatever)

consult your trainer and tell them that you want to lose weight but you also want to be fit. Compensate with food what you lose in the gym!

GOOD LUCK

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

George asks…

What is the best weight loss plan?

I’m 5’9 and about 160 pounds, it has finally dawned on me that I really need to start losing weight. What’s a good daily plan I can stick to?

weight loss cardiff answers:

The most commonly known weight loss programs available in America include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, eDiets and Nutrisystem. However they are not always the same. Some programs such as Weight Watchers may ask you to visit their centers for regular meetings, while others such as Nutrisystem encourage you to work on losing weight at the comfort of your home. Some may promise a fast weight loss while other focus on setting a realistic weight loss goal.

Some important questions you must ask before choosing a weight loss program:

* How much weight do you wish to lose? Setting a realistic goal is very important to keep you motivated!!! To lose 1 lb to 2 lb a week is more realistic than trying to lose 40 lb in a month!!!
* How much support will you receive from the program? Any online weight loss classes? Online personal weight loss counseling? Support groups? Chat rooms? Etc
* What is the Total cost for the program? Will you have to pay extra on top of what you have paid? Does the total cost include foods?
* Will they consider your lifestyle before making a diet plan for you? Or do they simply restrict your normal eating habit so that it’s tough to follow through? Is the program able to personalize your likes and dislikes?
* What kind of maintenance program is provided and at what cost? Find out what the maintenance program consists of, how long it lasts, and what you must do. Remember that the longer the program focuses on helping you change your eating and exercise patterns, the greater the chances of long-term success.
* What is the refund policy? If you are not happy, you should have every right to quit the program and receive your money back.

William asks…

What is a good weight loss plan?

I have a bad weakness for you know fatty non-healthy foods. How do I overcome that? Anyway, what foods should i eat. I’m not looking for super hard to make foods just quick easy things to eat. Also what are some good exercises to lose about 15 to 20 pounds OR to flatten your stomach. Ok well thank you. or if you have a good recomendation for a FREE website to customize your own weight loss plan for teens that would be helpful too. Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss plan basics (just for you)
1. The plan works out around 1400kcal per day: 300kcal for breakfast, 350kcal for lunch, 450kcal for dinner and 250kcal for snacks. But these figures are approximations that average out, because people’s ideas of what ‘small’ or ‘thinly spread’ is varies so much.
2. Watch your portion sizes – stick to the recommendations. Little changes like using more oil than suggested, having extra meat or using standard margarine or whole-fat milk will add to your daily calorie count and mean weight loss is slower.
3. Never skip breakfast.
4. Keep hydrated: drink at least six to eight glasses of water each day.
5. Dress your salads with fat-free salad dressings or a splash of balsamic vinegar.

All the best

weight loss cardiff answers:

The weight loss programs usually adopt a holistic approach. The more, the merrier – all facets of life are necessary and better together than alone. Dieting or fasting alone is not the best means to reduce your body weight. The ideal weight loss programs usually combine a sensible diet (to shed weight) along with fifteen minutes of daily exercise (to lose the extra inches). The key to successful weight loss is to make enduring changes in your eating habits and lifestyle. If you really want your weight loss programs to be effective, you must feel strongly about it and adhere to the weight loss programs full-time. Do not despair if you stop losing pounds after a certain period or level of shedding weight. This is a ‘weight plateau’ that most people hit, and is usually a transitory phase.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Ways To Lose Weight Fast

3. Limit any treats containing sugar to three times per week. This includes chocolate, desserts, ice cream, cake, cookies, pastries, etc.

4. You should include a lower fat source of protein at most meals: fish, chicken, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt. Have nuts, eggs and red meat occasionally but not every every single day.

5. You should plan at least one dinner and lunch every week without cheese or meat. Build those meals around whole grains, vegetables and beans to increase fiber and reduce fat.

6. Reduce the fat content in your milk products. If you are currently drinking whole milk, reduce to 2% fat. From 2% reduce to 1%. Choose lower fat cheese and yogurt. When you buy yogurt, also check that it does not contain sugar.

7. Have at least two servings of fruit every day. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season.

8. Drink water instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol. Avoid diet soda – the sweet taste only encourages you to crave sugar. Hot water with a slice of lemon can be very refreshing in the morning.

9. Include at least two servings of vegetables at lunch and dinner. If you are getting hungry, have more.

10. Eat slowly. The body is slow to register when you are full and it is easy to eat too much if you are racing through your meals.

Lisa asks…

How can I lose weight without the systems, diets, or pills?

Hi everyone. I’m 5’6 and i’m about 162. 5 months or so ago i used to be 180 so since then i’ve lost 20 lbs, but for the past month or two i’ve lost basically nothing. I eat healthy most of the time and always work out. I sleep well and drink lots of water. How can I lose weight fast without the systems, diets, or pills? I know everything that your suppose to know about weight lose, but for me nothings happening.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi,

I graduated high school at 240 pounds and at 5 foot 3 that made me about as round as I was tall. I was one of those overweight teenagers who ate anything and everything without any regard to the effects it was having on my own body. Therefore, I began the diet pills, which did not work; I ate the special diet foods and even began drinking diet beverages. None of this stuff worked for me, just as it does not work for millions of overweight people. Eating less did not work and I was not one to work out or even get up and do anything remotely related to exercise. I knew I would look silly and it would hurt. I never thought or really cared about the health effects this would have on me, back then.

A year ago after a successful weight loss plan, now at 120 pounds, it is a major difference. I’ve lost 30 pounds in the first month. The most significant change in my life is the amount of energy I now have and the way my clothes fit loosely. Everyone close to me and people I haven’t seen in a while are amazed and tell me that I look really good. This is a life changing experience for me although at first I was skeptical about the weight loss plan.

Our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. The weight loss program has proven to be effective in the short and long-term, without need to endure starvation and without any daily athletic workout. (But taking a light exercise every few days is highly recommended). Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight The weight loss program is affordable by all and do not need to pay a monthly fees to use it. In contrast to diet pills regime where you need to buy it on a regular basis and you will gain more weight when you stop taking it.

The success has inspired me to help others and i am sure you won’t be disappointed. Get your free “Top Fat Loss Tips” and discover how you can become noticeably thinner in 15 days by eating in a way you’ll actually enjoy.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Nancy asks…

What elliptical is best and cheapest with a weight loss component?

I am about 145 pounds. I want to lose atleast 20 lbs. Can anyone who knows what they’re talking about provide me with what is the best and cheapest machine they suggest and ALSO if anyone can tell me whats the best speed, resistance, and time as well as days a week to work out on the elliptical in order to achieve my 20 lb weight loss goal.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Being cheap with fitness equipment is never a good idea because it often gurantees that you will never actually use it to achieve your fitness goals. You should find a specialty fitness store and participate in a trial membership at local gyms. This will help you identify what ellipticals you like best. They are all different because of patents. No one elliptical can provide a better work out than another. Losing 20 pounds is easier than you could imagine. At a conservative pace it should only take 6 weeks tops. The best speed is to keep pushing your fitness level higher. So, if you can only maintain 6 mph continue to do so while always pushing yourself to hold 7 as long as you can.

Sandy asks…

Is GNC 7 day weight loss an effective product?

I am interested in trying GNC’s 7 day weight loss program but my wife is unhappy with the idea. She thinks that dietary programs are basically scams. Has anyone tried it and how did it go for you?

weight loss cardiff answers:

I would not say they are a scam.. I would just say that is not the healthy way to lose weight. What is easier is rarely healthier. These products will make some people lose weight, and they may kill some other people. I have read and heard some horror stories about those products..

Eat well, and exercise..

I bet your wife would not have a problem with that.. Check out this great weight loss program…

Sandra asks…

How do you get a reluctant Doctor to prescribe weight loss medications?

I am 5ft2 and almost 200 pounds. I have a hard time losing weight through excersise because I have severe Fibromyalgia. I eat a very good diet of 1,000 calories a day but although I am not gaining I am not losing either. My doctor says he doesnt like to prescribe any weight loss meds to anyone. I do not want to go see another doc because this current one is so good with my other illnesses and it is in my contract that if i see anyone else, he will not see me anymore. What do I do?? Help!
Ive decided to add some more on this post to thank you all so far for your input and helpful advice. I have a Response for “M’s” question. Most doctors who deal exclusively with pain management will have their patients sign this sort of contract. It pretty much just means that since they are handaling all of the intricate specifics of your unique case that it would not be benificial and would cause much confusion to bring in other doctors without his permission first. If you, the patient wish to see a different doctor than your pain management doctor , you are more than welcome to a second opinion or whatever you are seeking but it is in your primary pain management care providers discretion to see you or to (more than likely ) not to see you as a patient again. Thanx for listening and responding.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Ask him to recommend a nutritionist for you to consult with. If he won’t prescribe anything, then the least he can do is work with you in other ways. Maybe a nutritionist can adjust what types of foods you are eating and make it possible for you to lose weight. Actually, you might not be getting enough calories and if you ate certain foods and increased your calorie intake by 200, you might have better luck. But I’m only guessing. Don’t get discouraged. It might just be a 1 lb. Loss per week, but that’s 52 lbs. In a year.

I know you said you have severe Fibromyalgia, but can you just try walking 10 minutes each day and try to gradually work up to 30 minutes over time? If you don’t feel like walking outside, the Leslie Sansone walking DVD’s are easy and a lot of people like you lose weight using them. Basically it’s just walking in place in front of your TV for 15 minutes.
