Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Thomas asks…

18in4 diet plan?

Can someone please kindly assist and mail me the diet plan. I can’t afford to buy the book. If someone has it please kindly mail me. I know it is not a balanced diet but it is better than water fasting coz looking at what the scale says thats where I am heading, yes water fasting. I just urgently need a quickie diet to jumpstart.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I don’t know about the 18 in 4 diet plan, but:

Try the Souper Soup Diet (a version of the Cabbage Soup Diet) at lillieross.com. You can sign up to receive the diet for free & they will also email you diet tips Tu-F each week. This diet really works…I have used it several times; especially when I wanted to lose fast. In fact, I’m on it now and have lost 12 lbs since last Monday.

Or

Try the Fiber One Diet:
1 bowl of Fiber One cereal 3 x day (breakfast, lunch & dinner) with skim milk (I use fat free Lactaid)
1 tv dinner (400 calories or less) for dinner
Drink 64 ozs water (drink plenty water or the fiber will constipate you)
Exercise 30 minutes each day
Note: This diet keeps you very regular (bms)

GOOD LUCK!

weight loss cardiff answers:

You have a reasonable plan so far as time and weight loss are concerned but the diet is not so good. If you can do so,consult with your family health care provider about diet. If not..well, you need protein in your diet and a certain amount of carbohydrates as well as a little healthy fat because you do not only want to get thinner, but to stay healthy while you do it.

Baked beans, peanuts ( a small handful of them a day), turkey, fish and chicken are all good sources of protein that should fit into your diet. The fish can be canned, frozen or fresh as you prefer but fresh is best and you should not eat more than one small tin of tuna..or the same weight fresh, per week.

Dry fry food in a good non-stick frying pan, or if you need a little oil then make sure it is a little..half a teaspoon in the bottom of the pan. No sausages or fast foods, soda or candy..if you like these things then it is easier to give them up than to try to limit yourself to tiny quantities of them as treats. One of my favourite substitutes for chinese, when other people in the house are ordering out, is a dish of white or basmatti rice with prawns or shrimps and a good helping of thawed frozen peas..warm the prawns and peas up gently, they are already cooked, and then stir them into the rice with a splash of soy sauce to finish..it is delicious, easy and fat free…besides having good amounts of carbs, fibre and protein in it.

You will find that the longer you go without eating sweet food, the less you enjoy the taste of sugary things.

Mushrooms and beansprouts, kiwi fruit and pomegranates are all exceptionally good for you, peas are close and raw cabbage and onion..in a coleslaw with low caloried dressing perhaps..are good for asthmatics..which, by the way, citrus fruits are not.

There is no way of dieting for one particular area of the body but the Tony Little “Gazelle” can work wanders on your stomach, hips and thighs in just fifteen minutes a day..which you work up to..and with very little strain or effort. You can often get one second hand for a good price on Ebay or elsewhere and if you have no problems with your back or hips.it is the gentlest way I know of for taking off the inches even if you do not go at it like a maniac. You can use it at a gentle swinging pace and still benefit so there is no need to get breathless.

Swimming is the best overall exercise anyone can do, so if you can and do swim then try to spend a routine amount of time in the water a routine number of times a week. Again, no need to break any records..by allowing yourself more than a year to reach your target weight you have given yourself the best chance of doing so and of keeping the weight off which most dieters do not achieve because they have not actually changed their daily routines over the long term but only modified them radically for a short time.

So..a little more variety than just salads..and if you get hungry between meals, have a cup of soup, and if you get desperate for some candy then make it sugar free gum or mints. Take care and the best of luck.

P.s. Ab crunches..great for building muscle, but once you have converted fat into muscle it is much harder to lose.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I don’t have a diet plan, just a few suggestions that might help along the way.

To divide it into two can I separate [A] “good diet” and [B] “eating what is not good”. One of these must overcome the other, but not as a battle. You clearly want [A] and rid of [B]. And it is very hard, isn’t it?

I don’t have a weight problem, but found out I had hypoglycemia, so no surprise a complete chocolate head [or cream, biscuits, etc]. So, [B] was winning at that point. Now, I’m happy to say, [A] is winning.

Cook your own foods. As in “from scratch”. Not absoluteley everything, but make your own bread, batch-cook chillis or curries – crammed with different veggies, low meat content – and portion & freeze them, etc. Make it darn tasty too, so you can’t wait to eat it! These things aren’t fattening if they’re not made fattening. This is a way of REALLY taking control of your own diet.

Buy a rice cooker and some good rice. Rice in your diet is a good thing, gets rid of toxins too. Once you find a rice you love shop around for 5kg or 10kg bags and save loads of money.

Best wishes!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

David asks…

How can I lose weight without drastically changing my diet?

I have no choice but to eat what I’m fed. I tried to get my mother to buy healthy foods before. She does so every once and a while, but she says they are too expensive, so I’m usually stuck eating unhealthy foods.
I’m not allowed to go outside often because I live in an awful neighborhood. So that cuts out running food off.

So how do I lose weight without changing the above things.
What exercises can I do inside?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Diet: u can eliminate white processed sugar. I quit adding white sugar and i lost 5 pounds in 7 days.

Fitness: u can do sit-ups and push-ups. To lose weight, sit-ups are probably better because they crunch the abdominal area.

Groceries: keep encouraging your mom to buy healthy things. Eat fiber-enriched food. Fiber is very important for your body.

Charles asks…

Can you lose weight if your on a strict diet yet doing no exercise?

I’m going on a strict diet i’m not going to say which one because you will just tell me it’s unhealthy and i really don’t give a damn so yeah all I’m asking is can you lose weight without doing any exercise.Because the diet i’m doing is pretty extreme and I probably won’t have the energy to exercise. So can you lose weight without any exercise .

I appreciate all your answers, thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes. I never exercise I just watch what I eat and I stay slim.

Nancy asks…

Am i still losing weight even if i dont exercise?

My base weight is 160 -165. My bmi is like 27. I dont exercise because im a little lazy. Though im have cut my diet to like 1000 calories and 150 carbs and low everything else. I try not to eat a lot. Though i was wondering even with the diet can i still lose weight without exercising?

weight loss cardiff answers:

The only way to truly see weight loss is to incorporate exercise. Low calorie diets and low-carb programs will do you no good, so cut those out completely. I would definitely recommend exercise daily for weight loss, but a good way to burn fat/lose weight is to incorporate 4 small/medium sized meals throughout your entire day, don’t skip meals, and eat carbs (THE RIGHT KIND, veggies, whole grains, fruits) Eating every 3 hours or about 4 meals a day incorporating CARBS (do not cut these out, you need them) will keep your metabolism burning, speed digestion, and give less time for food to be stored as fat. Plus, with a 4 meal program, you aren’t starved by the time the next meal comes and end up overindulging in it. Snacks are alright, I recommend greek yogurts (Chobani is delicious) cottage cheese, and Peanut Butter (Natural PB, but pay very close attention to serving size, overdoing it will be counterproductive). So pretty much 4 balanced meals with each including some form of carbs to keep your metabolism working. Good luck!

Mandy asks…

What do you recommend for a weight-loss supplement?

I am trying to lose weight (30-40lbs), I currently work out 4 times a week and burn around 1,000 calories each work out session. I have lost a significant amount of weight before but have gained some of it back, I am at 255 now.

I have looked into Clinicallix, Lipofuze and smiler’s like it. I have also looked at Alli but i don’t think its for me. What are your recommendations for a weightloss supplement?

Donna asks…

Will my doctor agree to giving me a weight loss supplement?

I’m a teenager and I’ve been trying to lose weight. My doctor is aware of my plans but I’ve found I’ve hit a plateu and have not lost any weight at all. I started running/jogging, do zumba sometimes, and I’m on my feet and lifting things constantly at one of my jobs. Also, I’ve been eating better and still, my weight has stayed the same. Is it possible that my doctor can give me a weight loss supplement to help me move along?

weight loss cardiff answers:

A “weight loss supplement”? No such thing exists.

If doctors could just give the hyper obese a “weight loss supplement” do you think obesity would be such a problem?

Try eating less.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Linda asks…

What are some good ways to lose weight for a teenager?

So I’m 16 years old, 6′ 0″ and I weigh about 255-260 lbs. I really would like to lose weight over this summer, and I need some good ideas. I’ve cut out a lot of unhealthy stuff from my diet, started only eating meat if it’s white meat, and exercising a lot. I would like to know of some good cardio work outs (other than running because my stamina is downright terrible for running) and other good workouts to lower breast fat. Because in all honesty it seems like my ‘manboobs’ are much more noticeable than my belly fat.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Eat healthy: eat 3 whole meals a day. For your meals, you want something healthy and that fills you up so that you don’t get hungry again for a long time. You need to also make healthy choices like eating whole wheat bread or whole grain bread instead of white bread and brown rice instead of white rice. Cut all junk food. They are bad for you and cause weight gain fast. Cut fast food as well! If you get hungry in between your 3 meals, eat a piece of fruit/vegetable, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, or fruit juice. THey are all good and healthy and will burn fat. As well as eating healthy, combine with exercise and you will lose the weight healthfully and easily. Diets don’t work in the long run. When you consume too little, or deprive yourself of certain foods, you are also not getting the essential nutrients. That’s why everyone gain the weight back and more in diets. Diet’s are a plan for fail. INstead, just focus on eating healthy. You will feel better, look better, and perform better. Opt for a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. That’s how you lose weight and keep it off for good.
For the exercise, don’t overdo yourself. Just walking, jogging for 1 hour each day will be more than enough. Rememeber to rest for 1 day of the week. Also, if 1 hour is too long for you, you can BREAK IT DOWN thorughout the day. Nobody said you have to get it all done in one shot, just do some after you wake up, some in the afternoon myabe, and sometime before or after dinner. It’s more managaeable that way. Walking, jogging, running or swimming are aerobic/cardio exercises and they burn the most calories and fat. They will make you strengthen or build your muscle and keep you burning more calories and fat.
Eat healthy and exercise is the golden rule of losing weight. Good luck hun 🙂

Michael asks…

HELP!!!!Not losing weight?

I dont get how people say to eat more than your basic calorie intake to MAKE UP for the calories you burn or youll go into starvation mode? My net calorie intake (inclu. The calories i burnt from gym) has been about <1100 kcals. So is this true? But wont you have to eat less to lose weight??

Im 15, 125 pounds, 5’4

Ps- wont eating what u are going to burn bring your net calorie to your basic calorie needs to maintain your weight be USELESS?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is about 1,430 calories (female, 15yo, 125lbs and 5’4), to which you should add calories you need for aerobics (like 8 calories/minute at your weight) plus calories for your growth, as you’re a growing teenager, so you need to eat more when having a growth spurt as to not stunt your growth (you get ravenous).

You should eat enough calories to at least cover your BMR or your body will adapt to a low caloric intake and lower your metabolism, making it very hard for you to use your body fat as you get an adjusted lower BMR and there are no formulas for those. And then, as soon as you would eventually start eating normally again, you would make body fat very easily, because you would have a lower metabolism and therefore regain all the weight you lost and keep going up, unless you exercise A LOT.

Your BMR is what you need to be alive because your body is dreaming, digesting, breathing, fighting off bugs with the immune system, repairing and regenerating, pumping blood with the heart, handling oxygen with the lungs, keeping your core temperature constant. Your brain, liver, lungs, heart, kidneys, intestines, all your organs are working 24/7. Even your skin is doing a good job to protect you from germs and stay hydrated.

Women’s BMR:
655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) – minus (4.7 x age in years)

Men’s BMR:
66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) – minus (6.8 x age in years)

You’re not a 60-year-old, 5’5 and 120lbs woman having a 1,200 calories BMR and eating more than that as hopefully she’s physically active.

You seem to be confused but the way you phrase your question confuses me as well… “wont eating what u are going to burn bring your net calorie to your basic calorie needs to maintain your weight be USELESS?”. I don’t understand that question.

To simplify things, I would suggest that you do not mix up your apples with your oranges (calorie intake vs. Calorie expenditure).

You do not lose weight by eating less…you only eat less if you were eating too much so you now you eat what you need and stop gaining weight (usually you have to lose weight because you gained too much weight, if you either ate too much or did not exercise enough or both).

Just eating less to lose weight puts you at risk to eat under your BMR (which is what you’re doing right now btw) so you’re sending your metabolism down the drain and any weight loss you could achieve would be irrelevant, as you would regain the weight back eventually…either that or you enter “eating disorders” territory.

Once you can manage to eat enough to cover your BMR and growth, then you can lose weight with exercising (3,500 calories of exercising for each pound of body fat that you wish to lose) so you don’t mess up your metabolism.

So you should eat 1,430 calories + whatever you want when having a growth spurt. Being ravenous and eating a lot (above your BMR) is not bingeing but growing when you’re a teenager. You’re supposed to gain 3 to 5 pounds a year until you reach your 20s and your adult body. BUT you already have an adult body weight and you’re only 15. Still your body wants you to gain weight every year and makes you ravenous so you eat more to get more nutrients for your growing bones and organs.

Now, if you want to lose weight because your friend (same age and height as yours) weighs only 95lbs (at the 5th percentile) and you weigh 125lbs (at the 67th percentile), then you feel fat because you weigh 30 pounds more. If you try to lose weight when your body wants you to gain weight, you’re fighting a losing battle. You could lose weight by eating under your BMR but that would not be a success as you would develop an eating disorder which would not feel like you’re winning your battle.

What you could do is MAINTAIN your weight for the next 5 years. Still eat enough to cover your BMR + growth, so you don’t mess up your metabolism and you can get taller but then when you’re having a growth spurt and needs to eat a lot…you just exercise more. I had a huge growth spurt at 16. I grew up 4 inches (eating like an ogre and being active all day long). The body looks much better when you’re taller.

Helen asks…

easy ways for a teenager to lose some weight?

I seriously need to lose 20 pounds, and I feel like I’ve tried everything. Anything you know of that could help me?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Well i’m a teenager and i see ur difficulty and most of these methods i use and i have lost 15 pounds (and it is harder for females to lose the weight)
