Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mandy asks…

What was your weight loss success story?

-how much you lost?
-how long it took?
-size i guess? (weight,height,age, etc.)
-what kind of food and exercise you did?
-why you did it 🙂 everybody has their pride and motivation. i find it inspiring to myself and others.

weight loss cardiff answers:

-35 pounds (155 to 120)
-the first 25-30 pounds took like 2 months exactly (8 wks, 2 days)
-5’6, 22, medium bone structure.
-I went to this wilderness program and we cooked all of our own organic food and we took out all candies, sugars, processed food, etc etc etc out of our diets. We only drank water all the time and we had no cars or bikes or anything. We also carried 50-60 pounds packs on our backs and we would go on week long expeditions, walking like anywhere between 4 and 8 miles a day. It would take hours each day. Also I don’t eat much under stress and pressure and the food was somewhat nasty most the time.
-I did it because i wanted to get mentally and physically healthy at the same time. This program helped me to achieve that and I learned so much about myself.

Linda asks…

For people who took acai berry or bromolite?

how many pounds did u loose and in what time
now, please, i know all of u critics out there saying it’s a scam. Except i don’t want opinions on how bad u think it is because i can guarantee you 75% of these answers will say u don’t loose any weight. And for the people who do have weight loss success stories– how did u do it. Exercise, diet, ext. Thanks, i really appreciate it

weight loss cardiff answers:

I lost 20 lbs in about 2 weeks .But it wasn’t just acai berry pills which made me lose my weight.I took advice from my dietitian, followed my diet plan and exercised regularly.

Chris asks…

What do you think about weight loss success story books?

Do you think they are dumb and a bad idea?
Or do you think that they are smart if they have a practical solution ?
Just to be clear, I am not writing a book. I just want your opinion

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think that Weight Loss success books are great. Anything to help someone lose the weight they want to lose. It is very hard to motivate oneself to lose weight. Sometimes it seems more possible when there has been other people that have been successful in doing it themselves. I feel that it is very uplifting and helps to get motivated. So I say yes go ahead and publish a Weight Loss Success Book. Some people are not that fortunate to have friends or people in their lives that will help them to lose weight. These stories will be their support system. Good Luck with your book!!!!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Jenny asks…

What is the best way to lose thigh fat and become lean without bulking up?

I have a slim figure but i think my thighs are a little “chubbier” than the rest of my body. I’ve tried running but i seem to have gotten bulkier and bigger legs. If there is any method to just lose thigh fat without getting muscular, all suggestions are HAPPILY accepted- THANKS A BUNCH!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

Susan asks…

What’s a good exercise for getting rid of lovehandles?

I recently gained about 10 lbs and it’s not much of a problem except that my lovehandles are bigger. Now that I’m away from the greasy college food for a while, I’ve been able to eat healthier and lose a lil weight, but my lovehandles have not decreased any at all. Is there an exercise that I can do to target this area?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Please read the recommendations below. Also, go to the book store and locate the book “Weight Training for Dummies”. In chapter 15 you will find excellent information on how to perform abdominal exercises correctly. Page 218 of the book dispels all the myths surrounding abdominal training.

Mark asks…

I work out three times a week and eat healthy how long will it take to lose 5 pounds?

I work out three times a week, and I eat healthy, i want to lose more weight, but about how long will it take for me to lose 5 pounds in a healthy amount of time.

weight loss cardiff answers:

You could lose 5 pounds easily in 2 weeks!
I am 5’5 and weigh 135 I am also 28 and have had 3 kids. Also, I don’t know what your eating habits are, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt for me to tell you that portion is everything. Instead of eating a whole candy bar, eat half of one, hell, eat HALF of everything you eat and you will never have a weight problem.Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water a day, green tea is very good for your body as an antioxidant and help subtly speed up the metabolism. Salads (without fatty dressings and cheese) are very good for you, chicken is the king of meat in my opinion, as long as you don’t fry it. Avoid fast food entirely, and walk anywhere you can as often as possible and buy a 10 minute tae bo dvd on ebay. Drink diet sodas and juices (aka – cherry coke zero, sobe lean, crystal light, etc.) avoid sugar, switch to the 100 calorie snack packs, including popcorn. Eat apples, they are very filling! Cheese is an unecessary evil as well, so is milk, if you have to have it, drink the fat free kind. 100 calorie popcorn is a great snack. Eat turkey lunchmeat instead of a whole sandwich, etc. Eating is necessary, over eating is not. I also have a meal shake in place of a meal, I find it incredibly helpful at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Michael asks…

does anyone know any weight loss pills that actually work?

has anyone ever used that weight loss pill called AKAVAR?
i want to know if it really works before i use it myself
give me some feed back! i would really appreciate it!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I understand that you want to turn to weight loss pills to lose weight. Now that Ephedra is gone, this is never the best solution. I do a LOT of reading about supplements and diet pills, and have never heard positive feedback about Akavar. Adding a healthy all natural supplement to your diet might do the trick.

Instead, what I recommend is to get a free trial of Extreme Acai, which you can get at the source link below. Then you should follow some of the other links on that site to find a sensible diet and a moderate exercise plan. Try to eat fewer carbs at night, and fewer calories over all if you think you can’t lose weight. Give it 1 month and you should be able to lose 15-20 lbs easy.

Acai berries have far more antioxidants than any other fruit. Even more than blueberries! Besides that, the nutrients in acai berry supplements help many other diseases and maladies, from diabetes to arthritis to blood clotting. It really is a worthwhile supplement to add to your daily nutrition.

As far as the acai berry assisting with fat loss, acai can be a great weight loss aid. The berry’s natural concoction of essential fatty acids, fiber, phytosterols and amino acids work together to help your body burn fat more efficiently, process food more quickly and shed the unwanted pounds that you’d like to lose.

The fatty acids and amino acids aid in both muscle development and proper digestion, both of which are essential to fat loss. The fiber helps your body to move food out of your system quicker and also to help you feel full, as do fatty acids. Phytosterols help fortify your digestive tract, moving waste materials out and absorbing nutrients more efficiently.

I wouldn’t say that acai berries are the magic weight loss pill, but I would say that acai could be an important ingredient in your vitamin / supplement / weight loss arsenal.

Go ahead and order a free trial of Extreme Acai from the source link below. This is the product I use, and honestly I feel better every day. If you don’t like it, just don’t reorder it… But you’ll like it. =)

Lisa asks…

Which is the best way to lose weight healthily?

I have tried numerous weight loss methods and I lose a little here and there, but I am still not in the best of health. Please help.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hey 🙂 I just found this awesome article on “the science behind weight loss”. I got it from dietnation.com but I’ll paste it here to save you the trouble:

“Your body needs a certain amount of calories each day to maintain performance of normal activities, such as walking, breathing, sleeping, and thinking. Depending on your size, your body will require a different amount of calories each day.

On the flip side, if you eat too few calories your body will think its starving. This phenomenon goes back to the days of the caveman, when cave people weren’t really sure when or where they would find their next meal. The body learned to store excess calories as fat for future use. Well, we no longer live like that as we, fortunately and unfortunately, have unlimited access to food thanks to modern conveniences. What this means is, if you’re not eating enough calories your body will store the calories it does get as fat rather than trying to burn those calories. That sounds counterproductive, and it is. That’s why it’s important to feed your body regularly with the right amount of calories from the right sources.

One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories of stored energy. To lose weight you need to eat fewer calories each day or get your butt to the gym and burn off those calories. It’s that easy – you don’t need to be a mathematician to lose weight, you just need to start taking a look at some of your daily habits. Losing weight could mean shaving an extra 250-500 calories off your daily intake. Start your morning with a tall latte? Just one Vanilla Latte could pack an extra 250+ calories onto your daily caloric intake. By simply substituting your latte with regular coffee or green tea you could reduce your caloric intake substantially. If you want to try more exercise, calorie-burning activities such as walking to work, going for a jog with a friend, or taking the kids on a bike ride are all fun and easy ways to increase your daily activity level.

It is also important to remember that you need to eat the right calories from the right sources to lose weight and to maintain your weight loss. A meal of jelly beans and ding dongs that equals your daily caloric needs will not help you lose weight because these types of food are not nutrient sources that your body can use efficiently.

Eating right is a vital component of any weight loss plan, but it’s also very important to ensure that you get enough exercise. Combine aerobic exercise activities (also know as cardio) like walking, jogging or cycling with weight training (it doesn’t have to be anything too intense, but it helps a lot to lift some weights) to maximize your weight loss.”

I really like how this explains weight loss! Also while I was searching around I found this fantastic video which you should definitely check out, has a pile of great tips for how to shed the pounds: http://tinyurl.com/lose-weight-be-happy

I really hope this helps, the fact that you’re looking for help is a great start!

Good luck 🙂

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Carol asks…

How long do you think they take to think up these questions?

R&S seems to have more than their fair share of posers and haters. Do some just sit around all day thinking up questions like these or do you think they are spur of the moment kinds of things?
Since farmers are intelligent designers, does this mean opponents of ID shouldn’t eat farmed food?
Would it be considered bad manners for R&Sers to raid the Etiquette section?
Protestants how can we tell the difference between a real women and an Imp?
Spiritually speaking Fundies Protestants Does the Devil Steal infants?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Not long because we keep getting pretty much the same ones over, and over, and over…yet every poster seems to think that they… In their infinite brilliance… Have stumbled upon THE unique truth that has eluded 20 centuries worth of theologians.

YES, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Luther, John Knox, C.S. Lewis, St. Ambrose, all pale in comparison to some suburban 15 year old going under the name of “Darth Hefner” that can’t use a spellchecker.

The other one is, I do wish we could see a question that applied to reality at some point. Most of the questions are strictly “Straw Man” arguments. Something that had some logic to it would be nice.

I do enjoy it when Lime Green Ninja posts…he/she is smart, and knows big words, and is educated.

David asks…

Christians what resources are you using or have used to study Theology outside the Bible?

I have found The Truth Project to be the most amazing resource of all time.
http://www.thetruthproject.org/ check out the trailer if you’re interested.

Also the download section will show you teasers of each part of the series.

So what do you recommend as the best resource for studying Biblical theology and Christian worldviews?

weight loss cardiff answers:

C.S. Lewis is almost essential for being an intelligent 21st century Christian. Francis Schaeffer’s work, especially “The God Who Is There” and “How Then Do We Live.” This was the stuff that really strengthened me after I was first born again in the 80s. At the current moment the most important teachers out there are N.T. Wright and Tim Keller. Just google their names, or go to your big local bookstore. John Piper is pretty vital as well, and whenever you’re down or feeling doubt or pain, Brennan Manning is the man to read. Going back a few years, Charles Spurgeon’s stuff from the 19th century holds up amazingly well. If you really want to stretch your brain as well as your spirit, read “The Cost of Discipleship” by Dietrich Bonhoeffer or anything by Reinhold Niebuhr. Of course anything by Wesley, Luther, or Augustine is always good – don’t let Augustine’s being a Catholic put you off, he worked in the 3rd-4th centuries before that church became corrupted. (Speaking of Catholics, Fulton J. Sheen’s work is 98% excellent, as he was speaking to people first as a Christian and only secondly as a Catholic.) I’d also recommend Peter Kreeft, William Lane Craig, and Thomas (Thom) Howard, if you’re “philosophically” inclined.
But here’s the point. Keep Jesus at the center, and the Bible as your main resource. We are called to follow Jesus, not to attend churches or read books or study theologians. If these books don’t help you follow Jesus or enhance your daily walk with him, forget ’em. Best wishes!
