Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mandy asks…

Weight loss pills and adderall?

has anyone else heard of a type of zion pill?
something that causes extreme weight loss.
oh and what are the regulations for getting adderall like if you get a subscription

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss pills come in a variety of names and sizes, choosing the one that works best would be highly dependent on the individual. This means that what may work very well for one person may actually be detrimental for another. That being said, there are some weight loss pills which work for most people.

The pills of which I am talking about are ones that don’t make you lose weight, but rather remove your constant cravings for food. Think of them as nicotine patches. You take one, and you no longer crave cigarettes, or in this case food. You must be sure that these are the types of pills which you are taking because most of the other types of pills can actually cause physical diseases such as cancer, and mental ones such as depression.

If you would like a good recommendation, I would recommend visiting the site that I will put in the source section. It is definitely a good place to start as it defines the science behind the pills which it is giving you. Visit their site and do some research. I hope this helps.

Sharon asks…

weight loss pills?

What is the best weight loss pill to use?

weight loss cardiff answers:

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS! They are dangerous!!

Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills (Leptopril -does not contain ephedra) on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5’11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn’t feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.

My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.

They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that’s why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.

I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.

Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I’ve lost weight after this)

The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.

Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.

In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)

Practice portion control. Yes, you’ll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won’t have that feeling anymore.

Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)

Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas.

Nancy asks…

Cheap and effective weight loss pills?

im looking for cheap and effective and safe weight loss pills that i can buy online at either ebay or amazon.com. im 14, dont judge, my parents said it was ok aslong as it wont harm me.

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you are currently taking weight loss pills, or are even considering taking them, then you should be aware of weight loss pills side effects. While some side effects may seem minor and worth the risk, some side effects are very dangerous and can even be deadly.

Natural Weight Loss Pills Side Effects

At the very least, you must consider that most natural weight loss pills are not Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved. What this means is that the long term effects are virtually unknown. It also means that these types of pills have not gone through any type of research testing. Although natural diet pills might seem like the safer alternative because they are ‘natural,’ that is not the case.

Natural herbal diet pills carry much the same risk as prescription or other diet pills do. In fact, some can even be more dangerous. For instance, you have probably heard of ephedra (ma huang). Ephedra was actually banned from the market because of the horrible side effects that users experienced and the cases of death. Yet, you can still get ephedra in tea products and on the internet.

Other side effects of natural weight loss pills can be:

increased heart rate
undesirable interactions with prescription drugs you are taking
insomnia
stomach irritation
nervousness or irritability

Prescription Weight Loss Pills Side Effects

Prescription diet pills, although safer because they are FDA approved, can and often do, carry some of the same risks and side effects. Most prescription diet pills are appetite suppressants, or fat absorbers and blockers, and are prescribed as a last effort when nothing else has worked.

Some of the side effects are related to amphetamines, which means they are highly addictive and must be monitored by a doctor. They can:

increase blood pressure
cause dry mouth
cause constipation
cause insomnia

Over the Counter Diet Pills Side Effects

The most dangerous of diet pills are the over-the-counter types. Some of the side effects to be aware of are:

headache
diarrhea
heart irregularities
high blood pressure
stomach irritation
nervousness
stroke
heart attack
addiction

There are literally hundreds in this category, and they are not regulated at all. This means you really do not know what you are getting when you buy these pills. Many of the companies make false claims that are too good to be true and carry huge risks!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Lisa asks…

how to lose weight easily?

im 14, about 5’4 and maybe 15lbs overwieght. wat can i do (im not that good at exercising other than maybe basketball after school)

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi there,

I think you might be getting a little mixed up with what you want exactly. You say that you want to lose “weight” but that means you might want to get rid of some muscle too. You then say that you’d like to “shape” (I’d call it tone) your body a little which implies you want to build some muscle. I’m not trying to pick at your question – I just want to clarify the point for you.

To answer it in the best way, I am going to look at it as if you want to get rid of fat AND build muscle at the same time. If you’re looking to “trim” and “tone” your body, and espectially because you suggest you are not that overweight, I would suggest you start performing more intensive aerobic exercises such as jogging. I wouldn’t think you need to change the whole way you eat or go on a diet because if you’re wanting to build muscles – it’s better to do it all with exercise.

Exercises like jogging won’t exactly “build” your muscles on your stomach but they will help reduce the extra fat around there. Depending on how fit you are, you should go on daily or bi-daily jogs of around a mile. To build muscles, you should concentrate on anaerobic exercises such as sit-ups to help build muscles.

These muscle-building exercises will give your muscles the toning and training they need to grow and become more prominent. To start to see a real difference with sit-ups, you should be looking to do no more than 100 every day (more than that will often hurt your muscles).

If you stick to doing those two forms of exercise – jogging and sit-ups, you should see real improvements in a week or two. Remember, you should do them as often as you can (I.E every single day).

Linda asks…

How can I lose weight easily?

I don’t want to lose like tones of weight, I just really want to tone up. I’m an extremely fussy eating and honestly am petrified of food as everybody in my family is allergic to something and I’m scared that if I find something I am what kind of things can happen!
I just want to tone up my belly and my bum can people PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me I’m desperate.

I try to exercise, but I suffer with really bad asthma, so after about 15 minutes i’m completely out of breath, even after I take my inhalers and drink lots of water.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I would use the elliptical! 🙂 they don’t make you breathe heavily like the treadmill! Not at all. Sometimes you cannot even tell you’re excersizing, but you are TONING your thighs and legs/calves, losing back fat and eventually belly fat too. I would lift as well. Lifting light weights contributes to minor fat loss on the arms and legs combined with adequate cardio (in your case elliptical easy cardio) and then you will look more defined, not like a twig, not flabby either. As far as eating, i cant help you with that, im a person on Yahoo answers. I have no clue what you are allergic too, but if youre worried about POSSIBLY being allergic to stuff, that’s dumb. My mom is deathly allergic to shrimp, my dad to bees, my cousin to peanuts, why would i care if they are allergic to something, it’s hardly heriditary if random members of your family are allergic to foods, even if you are all you would have to do is get some benadril cause the first time you don’t die, you just get a scratchy throat. If you’re seriously worried to to the doctor and they will give you allergy food tests, i.e., have you eat a peanut in front of them and if you swell up they give you meds

Tips on LOSING WEIGHT???

For the past two weeks all ive been eating is tuna, soup and salad and drinking nothing but water. And i havent seemed to lose any weight at all. Ive also been on the treadmill for the past 4 days for 45 min. I know i should stick to it for a while to see any results but i havent even lost atleast a pound. What are some good ways to lose weight that really work.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/carbohydrates.html

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is “Muscle and Fitness”. Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Send me an email or yahoo instant message to “gainbetterhealth” if you want an indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have any questions.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

James asks…

How do I convince my friend to get gastric bypass?

SORRY THIS IS A LITTLE WORDY!!! Hello. My best friend is a beautiful, smart, funny, pretty 25 year old woman. However, her lifestyle has caused her to gain significant weight recently, and she is overall living rather unhealthy, and now gaining weight rapidly.
she has always been a bigger girl, but 2 years ago was about 225 lbs (at 5’4″ tall) and currently is 270. Last summer she was about 260 but she lived with me for 2 months and lost 13 pounds with out even trying! But gained it all back plus another 10. That’s 23 pounds in 7 months. Her weight is just skyrocketing. It is 100% due to the way she eats, drinks and lives. She is lazy (I love her but we all have flaws and that would be one of the few she has.) I just mean she sleeps a lot, is not active and uses the minimal amount of physical effort in things. She also eats unhealthy. I will say, to be honest, she doesn’t truly overeat, its WHAT she eats and when. She eats only 2-3 times per day in big meals and she often eats pasta, like almost daily. She drinks a lot of koolaid but, worse than that, she drinks a lot of alcohol. I think the inactivity and the constant drinking are what is causing the rapid weight gain more than the food. I basically, could easily help her on a weight loss plan, like i said, just living with me made her lose weight significantly. The problem is her lack of motivation or concern and the laziness. She wants to lose weight, her goal is 100 lbs in 1 year (which I think is a reasonable/ realistic goal) but is full of excuses. I just don’t think she is up for it. Problem is, it affects our friendship and her lifestyle. She doesn’t want to do the active things I like to do and she seems to think I make her look less attractive. She actually said if she got married I wouldn’t be in the wedding because I am too hot LOL. I appreciated the compliment but obviously this joke is a window into her lack of self confidence. She currently doesn’t work or go to school, either. Our friend group is basically all healthy, relatively fit, very active/ busy and attractive. I think it makes her feel even worse that we all “have it together”. Thing is, this girl is GORGEOUS! But the weight takes away from that outer beauty now and puts her in downward spiral. I just feel like this whole rut she is in is pushing her away from her loving friends and towards some people who are the types who just sit around and drink all day. I actually think gastric bypass may be a good option for her because it kind of forces a healthy lifestyle and I doubt she has the motivation otherwise. I know that sounds awful but it is getting to a point where the risks off her current lifestyle or more than the risks of surgery. I don’t want to see her as an alcoholic or bedridden, diabetic, heart issues etc. I love her and she has a young daughter who I do not want to see lose a mom at a young age, and I don’t want to lose my best friend. I know a few people who got the surgery and though a couple have had some issues, they all lost weight, feel better and would do it again if they could. Also she is young and healthy so she is a good candidate. I think she doesn’t want to do it because of how it forces the healthy lifestyle on her. But really, I just don’t think she’ll lose weight the old fashion way, she won’t put in the needed work. Has anyone ever had an intervention with a friend about this surgery? What did you say and how do I go about it? Obviously it is touchy and she is rather sensitive and somewhat easily offended, though more open to my opinion than most people. Please share your stories! Thank you
Just read the first couple answers so I am adding this in. Thank you for the suggestions but they do not help with what I am asking so far. First off the surgery is 100% free where we live- no cost at all. And I do offer to workout and be active with her. I invite her to walks and work out with me, she won’t, I even kinda trick her by saying something is only “a few blocks away” and it is farther LOL. I also don’t drink and I tell her my positive healthy diet tips (I lost 35 lbs last year) but again, she just is in a long-term rut. I understand surgery has risks but severe obesity and alcoholism beginning young are even worse. If you do have tips that kind of force the healthy lifestyle like surgery does, that’d help too.

weight loss cardiff answers:

If she is very lazy and not willing to make some big changes in her lifestyle, then getting a bypass is not the answer for her. It will work at first, but she will just gain the weight back over time. The surgery is just a tool for her to use as she makes the big changes in her life. If she is not willing to do that and make a commitment to change, then it’s not for her. The people you say were successful in their weight loss probably made a big effort to change when they had their surgery. Now if your friend really wants to make a big effort to eat right and do the right thing when she gets the surgery, she might have a chance of it being successful long term. Getting the bypass is no miracle cure for obesity by far. It still takes work and commitment to keep the weight off over time. It does make it easier to do that, but it still takes effort on the part of the person getting the bypass. It doesn’t cure laziness and bad eating habits. That’s up to the person getting the bypass.

Charles asks…

What can you tell me about Weight Loss Surgery?

I am meeting with a doctor next week about weight loss surgery and I was wondering if anyone went through this and can give me some pointers.I have a BMI of 40 and really need this surgery. Any tips? or personal stories? Thank you!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Before you do this, please try what I suggest for 5 days. After the surgery you will be forced to do this anyway, it’s just that if you eat more than a few ounces you will throw up (and isn’t that just bulemia)

I *thought* I had a healthy diet, no fat, high carb, adequate protein & kept getting sicker and fatter. I started Atkins 5 years ago just to get my appetite under control. I am disabled and can’t exercise & I didn’t think it was possible to LOSE weight without hunger and exercise (which was how I always controlled my weight before I was disabled, I NEVER believed in low calorie diets) I started Atkins (didn’t weigh first) and my tight clothes got huge quick (or I shrunk) I have never tried to lose weight and when my calories got too low, I would force (lol, it was tough I tell you) myself to eat an extra 1000 calories a day with strawberry ice cream (cream, frozen strawberries, artificial sweetener and a stick blender) to bring it to 2000 cal a day & I still lost weight (over a hundred pounds) without trying, just making different low carb choices. I can’t worry about my weight until my health is better, but with low carb balancing my hormones, I am starting to heal. My cholesterol & triglycerides are now perfect (they were high before). Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a “diet” Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz “Life without Bread” & Taubes “Good calorie, bad calorie” are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths. I’m spreading the word one person at a time! I KNOW it WORKS!

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

Thomas asks…

What is the best weight loss plan you have found that really worked for you?

Me and my hubby are trying to concieve, but I’ve been told that this probably wont happen unless I lose at least 50 pounds. (told by a doctor not my hubby) My weight is causing an insulin problem which does not allow ovulation. I have started by getting rid of all caffine drinks, and cutting out the sweets. I’m filling my body with plenty of water and walking 20 minutes a day. I know its just a start and will take some time, but does anyone know any good, healthy ways to diet and exercise without hurting your body?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight watchers is a great program for weight loss. It really works if you stick with it. And starting out walking 20 minutes a day is awesome, but you’ll have to ramp it up to lose the weight. Find a Jazzercise class in your area. Me and my friends swear by it. Go and have fun and don’t give up, it gets easier the more you do it. There is a woman in my class that has lost 80 pounds with the WW/Jazzercise combo. And I’m working on it, I feel better than I have in my whole life! Good luck!

Sandra asks…

Why did the confessional church who opposed Nazism of German protestant churches form?

What made Germans like Martin Niemoller change their alliance and go against nazi’s?

weight loss cardiff answers:

There were a great many of the Christian faith who believed and preached pacifism and non-violence. One of the founders of the Confessing Church, holding such beliefs, and who was martyred by the Nazis was Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

A student of Bonhoeffer, Bethge, has written an excellent biography on his life.
