Joseph asks…

How do I make the drink for The Master Cleanse diet?

How do I make the drink for the master cleanse diet? What are some results that people have had? I am not doing this for weight loss, but to lose a few pounds would be great. I want to clean out my system, since I recently quit smoking. Does anyone have success stories doing this diet? Thanks

weight loss cardiff answers:

One thing that will help you lose weight: a colon cleanse. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few until I found a great one that works (its all natural too! – it’s just pills, but you’ll detox, lose weight, and fell much, much better). You can go to
http://www.fit-diet-fun.us and order you free trial, also you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling. Good luck!

How can I conceive naturally with PCOS?

I am waiting to attend my gynaecologist now in 3months to start clomid to try and help me conceive. I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 mnths ago and Ive been trying for a child with my partner for 2 yrs now… Is there any way to try and fall Oreg without medication like Weight loss etc..Have you any success stories to help me feel more positive as Im very depressed about this, its beginning to really get to me!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Don’t get depressed. I know how overwhelming it is, especially with the lack of education and assistance from your doctors. They’re just there to force pills down your throat as a band aid fix, they don’t seem to generally care about your health.

YES! There are plenty of ways to conceive naturally. Losing weight the right way will help control your insulin resistance, which will postitively affect your hormones and help them regulate, therefore helping regulate your cycles and ovulation.

I posted TONS of articles about diets/weight loss, herbal/natural remedies, etc. To help those with PCOS — check them out here:

I’d love to post all the info here but there is too much for one answer! Please feel free to contact me (my email is on the blog) if you have any other questions. I am here to help you…..

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

John asks…

How To Stay Vegetarian Without Losing Weight?

I’m 14 years old. Around 100 + lbs. 5’8″ tall.

I have been a Vegetarian since June 23rd, 2007.
I never really liked meat. Recently my mother and I had a discussion about my decision and I happily had my request granted. [:

Now theres a problem:
My mother keeps stating that I’ve lost weight, and appear ‘pale’ with under-eye circles…

1) I’ve always been pale, due to my habit of staying inside.
2) I usually stay up late
3) I’ve always been skinny

So really, I do not notice the difference, other than in my health.
I feel healthy, But am I?

How can I stay Vegetarian, without losing weight?

Thank you for reading! <3

However, I don't use yahoo. Only for questions as such.
So ask to contact me on my messengers at any time!

-Mucho appreciated. [:

weight loss cardiff answers:

A person’s weight is influenced by many individual factors such as metabolic rate (how fast you burn calories), nutritional habits, and level of physical activity, for example.

As for myself, I have also always been lean and do not gain weight easily. Ironically, one of the only times in my life that I actually gained weight was when I became a vegetarian- I’m not talking about major weight, maybe 5 pounds. My theory is that I needed to eat more food to get full, since meat tends to have a lot of calories compared to most veggie-based food. This was ten years ago, and I’m still at a similar weight, although I gained a bit more due to lifting weights- muscle is dense and therefore building it makes a person heavier.

My advice it to monitor your weight, and be mindful of nutrition. There are a lot of questions and answers relating to vegetarian nutrition here. In general, it’s very simple- with a healthy diet it’s almost impossible not to get enough protein, just make sure you get your vitamin B12. Often people have the opposite issue of gaining unwanted weight, which can be caused by eating too much “junk” food. If you want to gain weight in a healthy way, try doing some weight training. Lastly, lack of enough sleep is a direct cause of circles under the eyes, so get some good rest.

Congrats on beginning your vegetarian journey! The more you learn about being a healthy vegetarian, the more you can ease your mom’s (and your own) concerns. Keep it up!

What is the best weight loss supplement out on the market?

I am looking for something to use once I am done breastfeeding, that will work well to loose weight. Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Please do not try diet pills because they are not the long term answer and many can cause negative health effects. Consider a healthy lifestyle change.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/carbohydrates.html

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is “Muscle and Fitness”. Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Send me an email or yahoo instant message to “gainbetterhealth” if you want an indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have any questions.

Steven asks…

How do I maintain a consistent workout everyday to lose 20 pounds by the summer time?

I am a 15 year old girl who is 5’4.5” and weigh about 140 pounds. I want to exercise by doing Pilate’s and jogging everyday for 30-45 min. I don’t know if I can manage my time easily with my schoolwork and stuff. How do I remind my self to do this everyday? Will this be effective? When will I see and feel the results?

weight loss cardiff answers:

You seem fine to me :/ but if you must, you’ll need to increase your cardio gradually so that you don’t plateau ( meaning, that your body will get used to this and you won’t lose anymore weight). It’s possible…i’ve lost about 2 inches since september by cycling for an hour and then running for about 20 minutes. So you might be able to meet your goal sooner than you think. Stay away from the cookie jar and you’ll be fine.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Paul asks…

How can I incorperate more protein in a vegetarian diet?

On average, I’ll eat half my body weight in grams of protein daily. However, I get a lot of this through milk, oatmeal, bread, pastas, nuts, tofu, veggies, greek yogurt, soy products, cheese, protein bars, peanut butter, and these vegetarian cuisine things my mom buys me that are fortified with protein and vitamins and minerals. I weigh roughly 100 pounds so I eat about 48-50 grams a day of protein. However, somedays I’ll only get as much as 35 grams and I feel it’s definetly not enough. Should I start considering a protein shake or whey protein? I think I could convince my mom to get them for me if thry’re inexpensive, but also which ones are best in your opinion? I’ve heard ensure has a lot in it and can help you maintain weight. I’ve tried Special K because I like the taste, but they’re for weight loss and I don’t need that. Is there also any other vegetarian options that have a good amount of protein? I’d really rather not take any pills like some people do, mostly because I take so many medications and I don’t want to have some bad side effects. :/

Maria asks…

How long will it take me to reach my ideal weight?

I’m 14, 5″5 and 148 lbs… :/ I really want to lose weight and get toned. My diet will mainly be protein and veggies/fruit, but i really don’t know what exercises to do. I have a gym membership, i am really no good on the treadmill but what are the other machines that are good for weight loss/toning? I want to lose about 36-50 lbs (don’t tell me it’s too much please!) Other than the machines in the gym, are there exercises at home to tone my body? If i exercise about 8 hours a week and eat really healthily, how long do you think it will take me to lose the weight? And will i notice myself getting fitter? Because i do hardly any exercise right now and it would be nice to be able to actually run without getting out of breath quickly! Thank you 🙂

weight loss cardiff answers:

Okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a slow cooker /food steamer & rice/pasta cooker to make it easy on you)…(vegetables might not seem “tasty”, like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)…avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc…and drink mainly water (green tea , juice & milk being the other options you drink). If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

Also, do an hour of walking each day at least. Or some type of excercise.

* you should lose about 10 lbs per month

** for a very healthy “snack”..learn how to make “huumus” (look online for very easy recipe)..it fills you up and is very low in calories and is very tasty.

Betty asks…

What are some good easy meal recipes for weight loss?

Hi. I have started to train in a gym. I’m 115kgs and aim to be 85. The exercise program I understand but what are some good foods to eat and are there any tips to avoid junk food?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Have you heard of Paleo Diet? Basically it’s a diet from ancient times that they have somewhat modernized to fit the taste of people from today. You still get to enjoy the taste of food because you really don’t have to give up all that much because the diet is flexible but it does some great effects.
