Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Robert asks…

How long should I wait to see results?

I recently posted asking about how many hours weekly I should walk in order to lose weight and see results. Many people said that walking is great, and others said that with walking alone, I will not see results.
I do have 3 younger siblings who are my responsibility during most of(if not all of) my free time. So whatever I do has to sourt of be fun for them also. I thought up a plan that will help get us all active together…

I have scheduled the following in my weekly planner.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday we will be going swimming at an indoor pool. We have gone before, and usually spend about 2 hours swimming.
Because my only other free day is sunday, I will be trying hard to get at least a 2 hour walk into my day.

I am 4’11 and almost 195lbs. I already have healthy eatting habbits. I have been trying to lose weight for some time now and I think the reason for it not happening is lack of exercise.
I have to add that I work full time (40 hours a week) and I am a full time college student. Fitting this exercise into my schedule is going to be a challenge because already, i have very little time!

Suggestions would be fantastic… but please keep in mind that whatever I am doing has to be okay for my siblings (5, 6 and 7 years old) to do as well…as they are ALWAYS with me during my free time.

Thanks so much!
more details!! (I keep remembering things)

I’m only looking to lose about 10-15lbs at first. I tend to set my goals much higher, and then I usually get discouraged and fail.

How long do you think, with keeping my weekly plans the same (Swimming 4 days, walking 1 day) and eating healthy….how long should it take to lose 10lbs

I know that all of our bodies are different, im just looking for estimates

weight loss cardiff answers:

It Will take only a couple of days before you get results in your workout. You’ll notice that you’ll be walking easier and longer, swimming will become easier and won’t tire you as easily

but you won’t start seeing real noticeable changes in your body for about 6 weeks. Sounds like a long time, but generally this is why most people quit working out because they don’t see noticeable changes soon enough.

EDIT: A good rule of thumb for weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week because any more any your not losing fat your losing muscle or water so it will be easier to just gain that weight back. For the most part 1-2 pounds a week is more than good enough if you stick to your workout.

On last thing, the most important thing to remember is not to be discouraged by the number on the scale. Sometimes, especially if you do any kind of resistance workouts, you may not lose pounds but you may be losing inches. The reason is because you are losing fat and the muscle you are gaining is “preventing” you from losing weight, but don’t be discouraged. Losing inches is far more important than losing inches not pounds.

Thomas asks…

What is the fastest way to lose thigh fat?

Im almost 16, 5’4″, and in 155 lbs. I really want to make cheerleading, but im very shy about showing my legs because of my inner fat. Im trying to lose weight by doing squats and leg lifts, but nothing is seeming to work. Please help me. I have until April until cheer season, and i would like to have decreased my inner thighs alot. Thankssss =)

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi,

Regardless of your leg, butt, hip, thigh and tummy goals from fat/flab/cellulite reduction to firming, slimming, building, toning, lifting and sculpting. The “right combination” of exercise variables will give you much better results in a shorter amount of time. Combine these variables improperly and you’ll just keep spinning your wheels, with no results to show for your efforts. Just a lot of frustration, anger and wasted energy.

You have several hundred muscles in your leg, butt, hip, thigh and lower stomach area. The major problem is, not exercising these muscles correctly will make your trouble spots worse and more pronounced, while risking serious injury. However, the right exercises that use these muscles in harmony with each other can bring definite results without spending unrealistic amounts of time on ineffective exercises and risking long term set-backs. You don’t need access to a gym because this type of approach doesn’t require weights and machines.

A year ago I was an out of shape with my lower body was the worst, carrying an extra fat on my stomach. My thighs and butt are quite big. After joining a program which i accidentally found while surfing the web for my consultancy project, i have made the dramatic changes and i feel young, healthy and sexy again. Even my legs are much more slimmer then before. The point is, there’s a much FASTER, BETTER and CHEAPER way to get fit and melt the body butter once and for all without gyms, weights or fancy shmancy expensive exercise equipment.

Previously, i have tried all kinds of workouts and spending a fortune just to look good while presenting my clients, but without success. I recommend this workout to you because it’s affordable and this is the program that finally boost my self esteem. The trainer is a real pro with a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. He could easily be contacted by email or through toll free number and office address display at the site. Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Joseph asks…

What is the best way to LOSE weight from your bum and thighs?

I am very slim on top (size 6-8), but my bottom half is a size 10, I feel very out of proportion and am desperate to lose weight from my bum and legs. Whenever I lose weight through dieting it just goes from my top half. Are there any weight loss specific exercises for your legs and bum at all? Thank you in advance for all sensible answers! X

weight loss cardiff answers:

So you’ll need some cardio for burning off the fat as well as toning 😀

For toning, you need to lose a bit of weight to show the “toning through” if that makes sense. You’re not really losing weight since it’ll be replaced with muscle (that you’ve toned up) because you probably have untoned “fat” if that makes sense.

Since you’re female you’d want to do toning exercises that build lean muslces, so I suggest 30-60minutes of pilates a day, but you should always have a recovery day. Start out with 30minutes and eventually after maybe 2 weeks work your away up to 40/60. So every 3 days pilates, rest, and 3 days again of pilates. They’re really easy to do with your favourite TV show, revising etc.

Here’s a YouTube channel I’m using atm, I’ll send you some for thighs, legs and butt. There’s loads on the channel though, there’s even a 30minute pilate workout! They’re absolotely killer!!

Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzZSCsw6i… Butt workout, with songs by beyonce, the girl really makes you want to do it as well,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHfe0rG_T… legs and thigh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I-c-yw5Z… slimmer inner thighs!! 😀

And you should pair all of this with some cardio, and since you have a treadmill, you can go on it for 30minutes/45minutes. You could put your laptop in front or something that’s what I do, and listen to music, go on chatroulette haha! But don’t ever give up, the extra 5minutes makes all the difference! And remember you’re doing it for you 🙂

Also try to drink 2Litres of water a day, what I did was, bought a massive 2L bottle of evian, and changed the lid to a “sucker” lid as opposed to a cap lid, so I felt more inclined to drink it.

Http://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates/v… – And here’s the channel with all her videos, there’s some summer edition ones. They’re intense though!
Goodluck!

I just found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1DS7G9Oj… ab workout one, on the same channel. Usually ab workouts strain my neck, but this one has a lot of “non-neck straining workouts” check it out! 🙂

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-wEz5XZw… here’s a fun cardio video by her also 😀

They aren’t hard, and she has really fun stuff like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDpB8pWEj… a call me maybe, squat challenge! I never liked the song until I did this

Pilates works the core too, and she has great ab videos 😀
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nng_M4Zi… a ONE MINUTE ab challenge video! IMagine if you did this 3 times a day? Haha that would be a good start to toning 🙂

Really push yourself, and don’t give up! The extra few seconds really make the difference, remember you’re doing it for you!

David asks…

How could a 15 year old start her weight loss?

Okaii so we just broke up for Easter holidays. Woo! And i’m suddenly really motivated to ‘get in shape’ Easter may not be the best time to choose it, chocolate an all, but yeah…

So today I realised i need to change. I feel like a lump. I’m female, 15, 5’3″ and 10 stone.
Today I got a duo whisper and a big galaxy bar (the ones for £1) – dont worry i shared the bar haha.
And i also had an Easter egg from my form tutor and one from being a student ambassador (which i didn’t eat today but i eat the other) and i just thought… its getting ridiculous now the amount of unhealthy things i eat!! And for once, i dont just want to exercise and eat healthy to lose weight, i was on youtube and an old advert came up before the clip i was watching and it was the one where they carry their hearts around… and i was thinking, if we did that mine would be one of the beaten ones. PLUS i finally got a boyfriend and proms soon. So i have 2 weeks to start this weight loss journey. I know its a lifestyle choice and i want to choose it. Im sick of being this heavy chick that cant do anything without getting red faced and tired.

So- my question. I know that the healthy weight loss is around 1-2 pounds a week, how could i go about this. Im sure i could burn more than that a week and still be doing so healthily, my weight differs quiet regularly, never below 9 stone though. What exercises should i do, e.g. 20 sit ups before bed and when i wake up, push ups x amount a day/week, and what about eating, my parents are away for work during the day meaning for the first time all year im in charge of what i eat at lunch- and my usual choice of breakfast of course (not that im lazy but my mom normally cooks family meals for dinner and tea) so… what should i cook myself. Or should i go buy some pots of fruit and stock the fridge with them? Like i say for the first time ever im actually motivated and wanting to get it done. I want to take the chance before i go back to being demotivated, bored and well yeah… an ugly version of me.

I want to be the best version of myself…

So. Any tips welcome at all- large answers welcome and sorry for such a long question thank you in advance, means a lot xxx

(Btw i cant go for jogs around a park nearby yet because i live in the UK and we are experiencing rather deep snow and lots of ice- for once its a viable excuse in my opinion. But doesn’t stop me joining a gym or working out at home- which id prefer to in the comfort of my own home anyway)

weight loss cardiff answers:

Do you have a skipping rope? If so, first thing in the morning try and do 15/20mins of skipping.
You probably won’t be able to manage that at first, but work up to it, start of with maybe 5mins everymorning, then move up to 10mins etc. 15-20minutes of skipping is a full body workout.
– Breakfast is the most imporant meal of the day and your biggest meal, I would recommend porridge!
It’s full of fiber, lowers your cholesterol and is really filling. I like to have:
30g oats – 1 Cup Almond milk (any milk is fine) – My fav topping is a banana with a tsp of peanut-butter or cinnamon! Peanut-butter is healthy in small amounts. Cinnamon boots your metabolism. But you can put anything you like on porridge, maple syrup, honey, berries, apple, dried fruit, nuts (almonds/walnuts/pecans..) try different things out! 🙂
( Alternatively: Yogurt and fruit/nuts.. Make a fruit salad.. Some muesli / bran cereal but make sure to read the label for hidden sugars etc! )

I tend to not have anything to snack on before lunch as porridge fills me up but maybe some almonds or a piece of fruit if you do- but you’ll find that once you start eating more ‘whole’ foods, with more fiber and things you’ll won’t get so hungry / crave things!

Just before lunch I like to walk my dog, well even if i’m not i just like to go a walk.
So for lunch.. I like to make a nice big salad! (lettuce/tomatoes/olives/fetta/mozarella/cucumber/avacado..) greek salad is my favourite, but there are loads of different versions and things you can throw together! Sometimes I like to have some fish to bulk it out a bit if I’m hungry, or I’ll have a piece of bread. (we have a bread machine so i like to make my own bread, free of preservatives etc!) so if you’re going to have bread get a nice brown/seed bread.. Whole grain…
( *When i’m at home i have that or if i don’t feel like something savoury I’ll have a yogurt with fruit.. Just depends how I feel – At school I’ll have a salad with a natural yogurt and fruit )

I do like to have a snack between Lunch and Dinner – At the moment I like to snack on Dates!
But carrot sticks/cucumber/celery with hummus/peanut-butter.. Dried fruit.. A piece of bread..
Just depends on how hungry you are.

Dinner! I have lots of cooking books. I would recommend buying some of them maybe-
Omlette is something healthy, quick and easy! Plus you can add lots of veggies to it and have a side salad with it 🙂 Salmon, broccoli and brown rice..
Http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/ – Love this blog! I don’t always have all the “vegan” igredients but I just choose the non vegan option! For other ideas stiry-frys are delicious.. Fish is great for you!!

Tips:
Drink lots of water (2L Maximum) ; Star drinking Green Tea ( add a tsp of honey) ; Add a teaspoon of cinnamon to yogurt, smoothies, breakfast ; Eat more spicy food ; Make exercise a habit (Find something you enjoy! You can buy other work-out dvds online- search around, check reviews etc.

Now for treats and cravings.. ! I don’t eat healthy 100% of the time and I would be surprised to find anyone that did. Whenever I get a craving/having a bad day, one of my favourite websites is:
http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/

The most delicious thing for me is peanut-butter, banana and chocolate. I just have dark chocolate 70% cocoa (anti-oxidants).. Dipping strawberries in melted dark chocolate is so good too! Don’t have to feel guilty either! Also Banana and Oatmeal cookies.. Litterally just mashed banana with oats, roll them into balls, put them in the oven for a few minutes and bam! You can add chocolate chips if you want too!

**If it’s someones birthday, i’m at a restaurant, round someones house.. Then i don’t make a fuss, it’s one day, one meal, it’s not the end. I let myself enjoy it and then get back on the wagon the next day!
If i do have a binge wich HAS happened before, but that was because i was restricting myself too much so now i make sure i’m eating a bit of everything, make sure you drink lots of water after and don’t beat yourself up about it- work out why it happened to prevent it in the future- you won’t gain weight frm one binge, nothing significant atleast.
Having a few healthy days but eating junk the rest of the year is not going to make you healthy. Same as having a few “bad” days but eating eating healthy the rest of the year is not going to make you gain weight/be unhealthy! <3 Good luck with your heatlhy lifestyle 🙂 <3

Mandy asks…

Is it possible to lose weight the week of your period?

I have been working on losing weight by eating healthily and exercising, but I know that during menstruation, you can gain a few pounds of bloat. I put in extra effort on the weekends since it is easier to get more weight loss in. My question is, if I work hard this weekend, will I drop my bloat weight AND the weight that I would lose during this time?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Of course you will lose your extra wait in this time. But i can give you another suggestion.Don’t drink water half an hour before and after taking meal. This system can help you a lot to lose some extra wait.I did it and get result.Thats why my advice is keep hard working, walk every day and dont drink water before and after meal.
