Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Lizzie asks…

Hypnotism and Weight loss? does it actually work?

I’m doing a research paper on hypnosis and weight loss. I really need to get some more information on it. I want to find out if hypnosis is valid and if it is, how can it work for weight loss? If anyone has any information or success stories that would be great.
I’m also having a hard time finding resources for my paper. Does anyone know of any good ones on my topic?

weight loss cardiff answers:

This is quite useful to get a general idea about how hypnosis actually works on the brain (or theories I should say) This is a really good starting point.

Threre is some interesting research on hypnosis within cognitive psychology. You should be able to find links between research and therapy techniques.

Good luck

Nancy asks…

Can someone share an honest success story?

Please share a sincere success story of real weight loss involving plain brisk walking, including duration and frequency. I’ve read books touting claims of substantial weight loss by merely walking “x” distance, for “y” minutes, “z” times per week all while not changing one’s eating habits. It doesn’t work for me. So if you’ve had good results please share.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I had to do more than walk to lose weight (without dieting). Keep in mind that building muscle will burn more calories – something you’re NOT doing while walking. That leaves cardio – and a lot of it. Sadly, most of those claims for “walking without dieting” are bogus. You might lose 2 or 3 lbs a month (compared to 2 or 3 lbs a week on other programs).

BUT there are other things you can do that would help – little lifestyle changes. Walk (or bike) to the store when you can. Park in the back of the lot, take stairs, do more chores around the house. If nothing else, the more time you spend doing other little things, the less you’ll be around tempting foods.

Jenny asks…

Can someone tell me the best diet to be on to lose weight the fastest?

You hear everything from everyone saying their diets are the best. It’s so hard to choose. Is it better to be on a protein diet or no carb diet or counting calories?! I just want something that will show me weight loss results quick so I don’t get discouraged. Also along with your dieting advice please tell your success story if you have time. Thanks in advance.

weight loss cardiff answers:

A high protein low carb diet is a good one. I dropped weight pretty quick doing that. Any diet will take a week or two to start seeing results. Whatever you decide just stick with it. I personally like that diet because when I eat less carbs I don’t feel so full all the time.

Exercise too!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

How do I tell a new friend that I’m having weight loss surgery?

I am having weight loss surgery next month and I recently started seeing someone. I’m not really sure how to tell him or whether I really need to tell him. I’m not really sure where our relationship is going and it’s not like I will be able to “hide” it. Just wondering if I should say anything and if so how do I bring it up in a conversation.

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you think that this relationship will last, the conversation will inevitably come up… Either during your surgery and recovery or when the weight starts coming off. Since your diet will change significantly (what you eat, how you eat and how much you eat at each meal), you will not be able to avoid questions from a significant other.

A good way to begin the conversation may be something like, “I have made a decision that is going to greatly affect my life and I want to share it with you.”

You can then proceed to discuss:
* Why you decided to have the surgery (health and emotional reasons, but focusing on the health reasons often makes it “hit home” with someone who’s unfamiliar with the benefits of surgery)
* What it will mean to your day to day life (i.e. Diet changes… Despite what many think, bariatric surgery is not the “easy way out”)
* The support that you will need from those around you, especially as it relates to diet and exercise. The last thing you want is for your partner to tempt you with things that may be harmful such as sweets or unhealthy food. If they understand the implications, they’ll be more likely to be a positive influence rather than pulling you in the other direction.

After having the conversation, refer him to a resource where he can learn more about weight loss surgery, including the research that supports it, the health conditions it improves and what life is like for patients afterward. These 2 pages are good places for him to start:
* http://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/bariatric-treatment.html (Bariatric treatment overview)
* http://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/life-after-weight-loss-surgery.html (Life after weight loss surgery)

If he’s a “keeper”, he’ll understand and support you!

Donna asks…

Is there a weight loss supplement that does not make you heart race?

I have tried many weight loss supplements, but everytime I seem to try one it makes me all wired and my heart races.

Is there anything out there that does not do that?

weight loss cardiff answers:

EASY WEIGHT LOSS:

To achieve a gradual, steady but an easy weight loss without any side effects is certainly very difficult.

Hence a safer and a more secure method of modification in food consumption and lifestyle pattern are highly recommended to reach the goal of an easy weight loss program.

Therefore, right kind of food in right proportions is encouraged in a weight loss program.

Daniel asks…

Confusion about weight loss? How is it possible to have permanent weight loss if dieting slows down metabolism

well, i know that eating less will have the body adjust to the new calorie intake and thus, no further weight loss. So how is it possible to have permanent weight loss if eating less doesn’t work?

Please give tips and suggestions, people who have sucessfully lost weight. thanks soo much!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The trick of losing weight is to fool your metabolism into thinking it is getting fed normally. If you try to lose weight by starving yourself, then your metabolism kicks in to low gear and hangs on to every scrap you feed yourself, making weight-loss impossible.Plus, after you have managed to starve yourself and not die,the minute you start eating again, your body sucks up every calorie it gets, and you pack the weight back on.
If you want to lose weight, which is a very difficult thing to do,you have to eat proper food:grains;veggies;low-fat meat./fish;drink plenty of water;and do some exercise. It sounds very simple, but it is very hard to do when you are de-toxing your body from fats and sugars.
Ask your doctor for an appropriate food plan for you.Don’t use or think of the word”diet.” It only serves to defeat you because it implies deprivation. And as humans,we do not like to be deprived of anything.
I might also suggest that you join a weight-loss group, like Overeaters Anonymous,or better still,a group like Weight Watchers.it is easier to lose weight if you are partnered with people who have the same goal as you.
Good luck to you,and eat healthy!!
PS:If you are a young person and need to lose weight:Start now because with every year,it becomes more and more difficult to lose weight and keep it off.Take the word of an old geezer.I know whereof I speak, sadly.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

What are some ways a dietitian be used at a culinary arts college?

I have a job interview next week and want to show how useful a dietitian can be to my future employer.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Teaching the future chefs how to make healthy changes without damaging food quality.

Mary asks…

How do you become a registered Dietitian?

Do you need a nutrition degree then do another in dietitian? A step by step answer would be great as i’d love to be one but do not fully understand how to become one.
I have taken the as levels of maths, biology, psychology and art, i am planning to drop art at the end of the year. Is this enough to get in? thanks

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’m not sure if those qualifications will cover your entry credits, my Sister studied this and she had to go to College at 24 years old and do A-level Sciences to gain entry

She studied at Leeds Metroplitan Univeristy and gained entry onto the BSC (HONS) DIETETICS however after year 1 decided she was more interested in the nutrition side and transferred to BSC (HONS) PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION.

Her reasoning was she did not want to work for the NHS, dietetics is very clinical/hospital based, taking bloods etc (shes squeemish so was no good for her)

Her interests lay in helping people improve their diets through better food.

I’ve added the links for you below to both courses, you should contact Leeds Met and ask about entry qualifications

Leeds is one of the best if not THE best in the UK to study these subjects, also placements in Newcastle on your last year would be advantageous their hospitals/clinics are specialist.

Linda asks…

What could I do with a degree in Nutrition but I do not want to become a Registered Dietitian?

I’m currently in the Nutrition program at an accredited school and I love nutrition but I do not want to be a Registered Dietitian like the program is geared towards. What else could I do with this degree?

I’d rather do something relating to exercise and nutrition OR traveling and working with cultural foods.

k thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

You could build on this become a personal trainer and offer nutritional advice
