Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Mark asks…

Why should an obese person lose weight with diet and exercise and not weight loss surgery?

Me and my sister are having and argument on this.

I say it’s better to lose weight on diet and exercise.
She says get surgery because it’s ‘easier’.

Who’s right?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Surgery is costly, and has dangers of it’s own, such as hospital infections(golden staph). Weight loss through exercise and diet actually changes the individual’s lifestyle so that they are used to doing physical activity and eating right. This is the key, where as surgery wouldn’t of changed your lifestyle choices.

Thomas asks…

What’s a great diet to follow for fast weight loss?

I’m trying to diet, and everything I’ve tried is way to hard to follow. Does anyone have any suggestions on how and what I should eat? Or does anyone have a basic diet I can follow that you’re willing to share? Are there any free diets out there that are easy to follow? I’m trying to maintain muscle mass, but loose alot of fat as fast as possible.
Please help!
Thank you!

weight loss cardiff answers:

The Best Answer:

Basic Diet Consists of 3-4 days of eating the following foods at each meal (4-5 meals/day):
4-5 oz of fish, chicken, lean beef, turkey
4 cups of veggies of these types (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, brussell’s sprouts, collard greens, spinach) – these are usually frozen and I measure out 4 cups total of any combination of them
1 tablespoon olive oil
seasonings to taste (salt, pepper, hot sauce, soy sauce – anything without calories). No need to limit salt intake here if you like to salt your foods.

Supplements consist primarily of:
Specially formulated blend of Antioxidants
Specially formulated blend of High-Potency B-Vitamins
Ripwire
Branched Chain Amino Acids (a lot!)
Several other esoteric supplements like 7-Keto (I’ll go into these in detail at a later time).

Then, every 4rd or 4th day my diet consists of (really!):

Pancakes
Haagen-Daazs ice cream
Snickers bars
Rice
Bread
Donuts
Pasta
Ice cream shakes
Fill in with your imagination…

Amounts? AS MUCH AS I COULD STUFF INTO MY BODY. I averaged 6,500 calories on these days.

Doesn’t sound right? Doesn’t sound possible? Doesn’t sound healthy?

Well…

The proof is in my fat loss — so I must be doing something right
As for health, my cholesterol is less than 170, my HDL/LDL ratio is great, my triglycerides are very low, and every indicator of health on a recent bloodwork was exceptional.

I WILL BE HONEST HERE!

The last 3 weeks or so coming up I’ll be a lot less liberal on the all-you-can-eat junk food days. In fact, I’ll only have a high carb meal at the end of the day on Monday and Thursday for the next 3 weeks. This is only in order to get to the very low bodyfat levels.

HOWEVER….

Remember what I’ve been eating along the way and still lost all this fat. I’ve done so NOT in spite of what I’ve been eating (important!!!), but a result of WHAT I’ve been eating, INCLUDING all of the junk food. Junk food has ACCELERATED MY FAT LOSS to this point.

This means if you want to get to a significantly good shape, you DON’T have to give up your favorite junk foods. In fact, you should PLAN THEM into your diet every 3-4 days. If you don’t, then you WON’T get the results you’re after — TRUST ME!

Then, when and IF… your progress stagnates should you then do the restrictions I mentioned I’ll be doing over the next 3 weeks.

It’s really pretty easy. You can find out more tips here:

Daniel asks…

easy weight loss?

So, I’m 13 years old, and I don’t want to lose a lot of weight, I just want to feel comfortable with my bodyu. I weigh 130lbs, and want to drop 10 pounds in like, 2 months. So not a huge loss. I don’t want to be anorexicly skinny, just slender.
Any Ideas?

Also, has anyone heard of the Negative Caolrie Diet? Does it work? (If you have never heard of it please do not answer this)

weight loss cardiff answers:

If you only want to lose ten pounds don’t go on any diet. This is my answer to most people who ask about losing weight I hope it helps.

*If want to get fit and/or lose weight, here’s my Weight Loss Program through Body Building and Nutrition. It works! First, don’t Use Diet Pills. They are bad for you. Most of them are just a scam or they are addictive. Counting calories is a pain in the neck. It will drive you nuts. But, losing weight is simple. You just have to do the right things.
*(If you are older and have not exercised in many years you should see your doctor and have a stress test done to be sure your heart is ok before starting this program. Also, walking eveyday is a good lifelong practice.)
*Fad diets sometimes work but, you can be sure that at least 25% of the weight you lose will be muscle. Then when you stop the diet you will gain back all of the weight you lost but no muscle. So, you will have 25% more fat than you did before! Fad diets just aren’t worth the bother.
*Fasting or skipping meals will teach your body that famine is common in your world and your body will begin to store more fat to get you through the next period when food is not available. It’s better to eat healthy foods often to teach your body that food is plentiful and that there is no need to store calories as fat. Instead, eat a raw a vegetable or fruit every two hours.
*Here’s a simple trick that can help you lose weight without doing anything else. Drink a litre of water as soon as you wake up in the morning and then drink two more throughout the day. You’ll notice a difference the first month.
*Here’s another trick that works. For every pound of muscle that you add, your body will burn 3000 calories (1lb) of fat every day. That means that just by having an extra pound of muscle on your body you will burn a pound of fat every day! So, add muscle!
*This is the fastest way to add a pound of muscle. Squats and Pushups! You do them on alternate days; squats one day, pushups the next. And you need to do them SuperSlow style. That is, you do the easy part twice as slow as the hard part. That way you fatigue the muscles quickly. Then you
rest the muscles for 48 hours which gives the body a chance to make new muscles.
*Squats should be done with a wide stance and all the way to the floor. Pushups the with palms shoulder width apart and all the way to the floor, then all the way up. Use the full range of motion of the muscle group you are trying to develop. If you are too weak to do pushups, try them with your knees on the floor or do them with your feet on the floor and your hands an the bed.
*The idea is to tire the muscles out completely so do a set of squats until you can’t do another, then rest for a couple of minutes and do it again. Do that 3 times and you’re done for the day. The following day, don’t do squats but do pushups. Do them the same way, going down twice
as slow as you come up.
*You will lose weight fast, unless you add more junk food and fat to your diet. Instead, eat at least 5 to 7 different raw vegetables and fruits every day. Cut out anything that comes in a bag, box, can, bottle or any kind of package. In other words, cut out all processed foods, soft drinks(unless it is freshly squeezed juice) and sweets. Eat more grains and less red meat. Check out the
Food Pyramid.
*If you really want to give your body the best possible chance to be
healthy and fat free, go to infinity2.com and order their weight loss
formula and Essentials for Life. That will give you all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics that your body needs and will keep you feeling better and healthier. They also have a Proteabolic Mass Formula for serious athletes who want to build muscle mass quickly and safely.
*Weight loss without exercise is not good. You need to eat healthy, exercise and get your rest. You will feel better, look better and be healthier. Try it for two weeks. You will notice a difference. You will feel better and that will motivate you to continue.
*Losing weight only in specific areas of the body is impossible. You can’t just lose weight around the belly, for instance. So, if you want
tight, rippled abs, do crunches and leg raises every other day the way I described above.
It might also be a good idea to avoid the scales for a while once you begin this program. Avoid them for a couple of weeks. Don’t focus on the number, but on how you feel. Then after you’re feeling better and motivated, check your weight and you’ll be surprised!
*One last point, stretching is essential for a number of reasons. Pick up a copy of ”Stretching” by Bob Anderson. Read the intro and understand his reasoning before you do the exercisis. Good luck!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

David asks…

Can I become a dietitian with a kinesiology degree?

I want to take kin because Im not sure if I want to be a dietitian or a physiotherapist. I want my options open and I was wondering if I can still get in the dietition school with a kin degree? Or do I HAVE to have a nutrition degree?

weight loss cardiff answers:

To become a dietitian you need to complete a dietetic internship (acceptance rate is < 50%). But to apply for a DI, you'll need to have completed your DPD courses, which encompasses chem, ochem, bio, biochem, microbio, physiology, food science, food management, community nutrition, and medical nutrition therapy classes, as well as some social science classes.

You don't NEED a nutrition degree, but you'll need to complete these courses. And the courses have the be approved.

If you're unsure, I would go with a degree in dietetics or clinical nutrition. A lot of schools for physical therapy and occupational therapy are less specific on the prereqs needed. The courses you take in nutrition should cover all of them, except for physics.

Charles asks…

Can a registered nurse become a dietitian at the same time?

I’m a registered nurse and I want to specialize on diets so I can put up my own diet clinic, offer consultations, sell diet products, and so on. I was just wondering if this is possible for a nurse to have a license as a dietitian at the same time. If this is possible, do I still need to pursue further formal studies to acquire a license? thanks.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’d check into the requirements in your state. Being an RN is not going to qualify you, in and of itself. Here are New Hampshire’s requirements, as a “for instance”–

Initial License Requirements:

* Submit a dietitian’s license application & pay the required license fee;
* Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the US and complete a major course of study in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, or food systems management;
* Successfully complete a dietetic internship of no less than 900 hours, pre-professional practice program, or coordinated program with documented experience in the practice of dietetics under supervision of a registered, certified, or licensed dietitian; and
* Successfully pass the examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Renewal License Requirements:

* Submit a dietitian license renewal application & pay the required license fee; and
* Documentation of completion of 20 hours of continuing education every two years.

William asks…

Could I study food science and nutrition, & then work with clients to improve their health (as a dietitian) ?

I want to study what a nutritionist does, but the job of a dietitian is more appealing to me. Is it possible to study nutrition and then work in a clinic that helps people to improve their diets? (Like a Dietitian does). So to sum up can I do a job like this after studying Nutrition ?

weight loss cardiff answers:

A dietitian in many states are required to be licensed, registered. Should that be the case for the state you want to work, then it is unlikely you could be a dietitian. The best thing to do is to contact the state board of medical examiner to ask if dietitian need to be licensed and if so, what activities are reserved for them.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Paul asks…

What to do 15 yr old trying to lose weight?

Hi I am a 15 year old girl who lives in mexican family. I barely have any control over what i eat. I weigh 176 pounds last I checked could be more. I am 5’5 or so don’t really remember. I have lived my whole life eating unhealthy and I am in a situation in where I am open to every junk food available. What can I do? I am absent minded. Get distracted easily and will be liable to not stick to stuff. I want to know what I can do as a teenager. Almost all the things out their are for adults or I can not do it as I have no money. What do I do? If need of more info ask.

weight loss cardiff answers:

There are 3 very good websites .
http://www.dwlz.com
http://www.3fatchicks.com
I know of 2 exercise tv shows that are low impact if you are not home when they are shown you can tape them for later use .
“Body Electric ” on PBS stations
http://www.bodyelectrictv.com

“Beverly Exercise” on Goodlife religious tv stations
http://www.beverlyexercise.com

There are probably several other exercise tv shows that can be taped for later use . Girl I know what it feels like to be young and have a weight problem and I wil not lie to you it is not easy to lose weight and even more difficult to keep it off , but it is worth the effort when you don’t see the “fat girl in the mirror ” any more . Good luck lose those calorie curves !

Helen asks…

Losing weight & toning thighs?

I’m 14, and i know loads of teenagers say ‘oh i’m fat, i’m fat.’ but i’m not. I’m carrying a little extra weight on my thighs, and it’s really embarrassing, because they rub together when I walk.

I’m carrying a little extra weight on my stomach, too,

I was kinda hoping to lose the weight by 13th June.

Does anybody know any ways to lose the weight on my thighs and tone my thighs easily?

Thankyou 🙂

weight loss cardiff answers:

Do loads of cycling- first of all, this really helps tone your stomach and thighs all in one so if you do enough of it every week, you will see a difference in both your stomach and thighs altogether. Second, when you are cycling your thighs flex (muscles to be exact) themselves and they harden so any loose skin or weight will tighten so it looks nice and toned and it’s also good for the bum as well as stomach and thighs, third as you are riding, you are moving both legs opposite to each other so if the right leg goes up the left goes down, this has an impact on the stomach area as it also flexes it so your tummy will be flexing up and down just like when you are doing a push up and if this is done constantly you will see a great difference in the stomach area. Trust me it works. Cycling is very good for many things. Also try swimming. Great for thighs and skipping goo for all over the body including thighs and stomach. 😀

Charles asks…

Why do I gain weight so easily?

When I was a teenager I was very skinny and it took alot for me to gain weight. Since I got older (I’m just 21 by the way) I gain 1 or 2 or more pounds every time I eat something. And it stays until I lose it back. A few days ago I ate 1 cup of ice cream, got on the scale later and it showed that I gained two pounds. I had to run myself to death to get rid of those 2 pounds, while some others can eat all day and don’t gain a pound. For me to avoid gaining weight I have to damn near not eat anything at all or run off everything I eat, even if it’s a healthy dinner. Is it just my metabolism that sucks? How do I fix this problem?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Your metabolism has probably slowed down, you should just keep on eating healthy, watch how many calories you are having a day, and exercise! Exercise will help rev up your metabolism and do different kinds of exercises like jump rope, jumping jacks, it doesn’t have to be just running.
