Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Donald asks…

What is the best way for a 16 year old girl to lose weight?

Im 16 and i weigh around 240-250. I need to make a change in my life and i need to lose weight. Eventually i would like to lose around 70-100lbs. How can I do this? Are diet pills an option? I really need help so any advice is appreciated

weight loss cardiff answers:

Do not take pills. No colon cleanse. No diets.

You’re right in saying that you need to make a life change.

(1) Stop eating junk and processed foods. They’re not good for you and destroy your body.
(2) Exercise! We were hunters at some point. Can you hunt just sitting down and eating cookies all day? Start slowly and don’t push yourself to the point of hurting yourself. Start with walks and eventually increase the intensity. The effectiveness of a work out is all dependent on the “EFFORT.”
(3) Psychologically believe in yourself. Your results also depend highly on what’s going on in your head. It is up to you whether you want success or not. Self-sabotage is easily accomplished. You have to push yourself to sacrifice the tasty treats and eat salad with lean chicken everyday.
(4) Be a kid! You’re 16-years-old! Sign up for something you can be active with. Go do karate, dance class, basketball camp, or something of that nature. Live your life. The world is a beautiful place and you should go out and enjoy it.

Simply put, you just need to eat right and exercise. You should learn to do this naturally without ever forcing yourself to do it. Eventually, you’ll love eating that way and you’ll love being active. It takes time, but once you get there you’ll never go back.

Carol asks…

How can I keep from getting depressed about my slow weight loss?

I have been working out and eating well for over a month. I have only lost 5 pounds. I am trying not to get discouraged, but it’s hard when others lose weight so fast. I am going to step up my workouts and eat less, but its hard to maintain my motivation when the weight is coming off so slow. I have to battle this little bit of depression that keeps wanting to slip into my brain, and I have to fight the urge to binge and purge. I need to lose 30 pounds and am really bummed about how slow its happening…

weight loss cardiff answers:

It will happen if your patient. Purging your food is not the answer. If you start doing this please seek professional help.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

Sandy asks…

What is a good diet for someone who wants to cut weight, but not necessarily give up food?

I love food, and will probably never have the discipline to diet properly. I don’t want to look like a body builder, but would like to keep my weight off since I recently lost 30 lbs.Is there a good diet out there with good food that helps lose weight, or just keep weight off? Or a guide to nutrition because I have never been a 3 meals a day type of person.

I want to enlist, but the only problem is that I am a 6’1 female that weighs in at 276. They said I need to weigh 189 tops. How can I lose weight fast where I can hurry up and enlist?

weight loss cardiff answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow

If you are really looking the best way how to lose weight fast,
I suggest doing what this mom did and combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program for the best result

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi loser
♥ Fresh vegetables are better than cooked or canned vegetables. Try to eat your vegetables raw. When you cook them, you are in fact taking away nearly half the vitamins in them. And canned vegetables too are processed and are not nearly half as good a method of how to lose weight fast as fresh vegetables. When you buy your vegetables it would be a good thing to see if the label says that it is pesticide free.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Michael asks…

What weight loss tips do you have?

My goal is to start working out tomorrow and I really only need to lose 30 pounds to be at a healthy weight. So my questions are:
1) What machines do you recomend and how long should I work out for on my first day?
2) How often should I up my work out time?
3) What foods should I avoid?
4) How long will it take roughly to lose 30 pounds?
5)I’m thinking that because I’m 23 and not really over weight it will be easy to lose 30 pounds or am I kidding myself?
5) Any other advice you have for me (a soon to be former couch potato) would be greatly accepted.

weight loss cardiff answers:

From memory, body 4 life recommends small meals, maybe 5 to 6 a day. Only good carbs, like whole wheat bread, yogurt, bake potato’s. Good protein like fat-free cottage cheese, grilled or boiled chicken, tuna in water, all natural peanut butter, turkey meat. Two or three portions of fruit and veggies a day.

The work out regimen was upper body one day, aerobic the next, lower body the next, aerobic the next for six days. One day off. It was five sets of weights in a progression format (i.e. 8lbs 10 times, 10 lbs 8 times, etc.), and interval aerobics. It is a good book. I never could stick with it to gain muscle. You can try reading dr.john berardi too. He seems like he knows what he is talking about in his newsletters and a book he co-authored.

Ken asks…

Weight Loss Tips Anyone?

Does anyone have any amazing fast working weight loss tips that are easy…?
I want to look good for my solider coming home from Germany for the first time in a year, longest time we’ve been apart :(, in july…. I can not procrastinate any longer.

weight loss cardiff answers:

How many times do we hear from some overweight people that “they have tried everything” to lose weight but nothing works?
Yet these people have *never* tried missing a meal every so often or at least reducing their portions or giving up sugar and fattening foods,.,.
Losing weight is simplicity itself: eat less and burn more.

Sandy asks…

Can someone give me tips for weight loss?

I’m a 13 year old girl 5’4″ and 128 pounds. I want to roughly lose 15 pounds. How long will that take? I’m going to Florida for a week so I’ll be eating out a lot just so you know :/ I only drink water, no soda or anything, and my exercise daily is usually just dance and squats. Can you give me easy tips and other things I should know? Thanks

weight loss cardiff answers:

You’re normal weight – the MOST you should loose is 5 pounds – no more. I am one inch shorter than you, and weigh 119 – so you should be a little heavier than me.

Dancing uses up a lot of energy, so I think your exercise is great – and it’s a good thing you drink water instead of soda. Soda is unhealthy.

When you eat out, try to choose the healthier foods – avoid foods with lots of fat or sugar in them. DO eat meat, soup, and other high-calorie foods during the day, but in the evening, try to stick to a light salad, some yogurt, or some fruit. Also, avoid eating after 7.

Other than loosing just a few pounds, you should be fine 🙂 You get your exercise and drink healthy drinks. 🙂

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

William asks…

What is a good weight loss plan (like food plans and exercise)?

I want to be able to lose weight with a good food plan and exercise
i want to lose like 5 pounds a week or 2 i want to lose 20 in a month or so … can you help me?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Cut out soda, fried foods, and sugary foods. Eat more fiber and drink 8 glasses of water, which will help fill you up and help your metabolism. Get 30 minutes of exercise per day, the more aerobic, the better. Keep a diary of daily food intake. And finally, try to enlist a friend to do the diet with you, it makes it easier to stick to it if both people have to be accountable to each other.

Thomas asks…

What are some good weight loss meal plans?

I need meal plans for dieting. Along with the recipes. Even if you gave me a website that has free ones that would be helpful = ) thanks

weight loss cardiff answers:

Try Nutrisystem. They use the glycemic index. I loved it. Just got a little costly at $300 a month for the food. You can sign up on thier website and look on the message boards. There is a guy who posts name the Jazzman who has hundred of recipes that follow the glycemic index but you can do you them at home yourself. There was another girl who post on the message boards daily. The post was called Daily Meals with Pics, or something to that effect. She also does the glycemic index at home on her own. Following it is amazing. I lost 23 lbs in 6 weeks. Good luck to you.

Steven asks…

I want some exercise plans for weight loss?

I want some exercise plans for weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Don’t exercise for fat loss. Exercise for fitness.

Any exercise will burn calories but no exercise will burn fat unless your diet allows it. You can burn fat in your sleep or you can run all day and never burn any fat. It all depends on your diet.

Fat loss is determined by calorie control, not by exercise. Good exercises for burning calories are speed walking, biking, swimming, dancing, etc. And ANY other physical activity which makes you move a lot of weight for a long time. But NO exercise is good for burning fat if you eat too many calories because you can always eat more calories than you can burn.

Too many people waste energy and time because they do not understand this one simple point. The result is too often giving up in frustration, abandoning gym memberships they continue to pay for, and many other unnecessary problems not the least of which is a lack of success.

An average person must walk about five miles every day for a week to burn the calories equivalent to a pound of body fat. So, unless you think walking about five miles a day (or doing an equivalent amount of exercise) with no guarantee of fat loss makes sense, focus your fat loss program on diet.

Diet for fat loss. Exercise for fitness.
