Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

Are there any weight loss supplements (pills, tea, etc.) for people under the age of 18?

I am younger than 18, and I want to be on supplements to speed up the weight loss. Normally I would stick to a healthy diet, but I need to be in good shape by April. Any ideas? Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Sandy asks…

What are some good non-expensive natural weight loss supplements?

What are some good non-expensive natural weight loss supplements that you can find let’s say…walmart for example? Something that you can buy on a monthly basis and not end up broke.

Not something like Hydroxycut or Slimquick…I’ve heard they’re no good

weight loss cardiff answers:

There is no such thing. It’s all a matter of calories consumed and calories burned.
There are around 3500 calories in 1 lb of fat.

Do the math, work it out and save your money

Charles asks…

What weight loss supplements would you suggest?

I’ve decided to lose about 50 lbs by the time the summer is over and so far I’m making great progress. I started my diet a little over a month ago and have already lost 14 lbs. I joined the gym. I go at least 4 times a week. Usually every day though unless another plan interrupts my schedule. I am watching what I eat. I have cut my calories significantly and even started keeping a food diary, in which i also keep track of my exercise. I bought a pedometer and count me steps, basically I’ve improved my way tremendously since the year started. My question now is in regards to those infamous “weight loss pills”. I would like to add something to increase my energy, boost my metabolism, and just speed up the process. I am kind of in a hurry because I am planning a vacation and would like to possibly complete this before my initial plan. But how can you trust anything out there, really? Has anyone taken anything that they were satisfied with? Or does anybody have any tips in general?
I tried the Slimquick, I even tried TrimSpa, but stopped taking them soon after. Trimspa still sits in my closet i took like 4 of them. Slimquick i used a whole bottle of, bought another one, went through half and then stopped because i wasn’t sure if they would interact with medications that i started taking at the time. I can say i was pretty satisfied with the results slimquick gave me. Still I would like to see what other options I have. The cost is also a concern, simply because I’m not rich and can’t afford to spend $100/month on weight loss pills. A friend of mine [body builder] swears by Hydroxycut. But not many other people I talked to recommended it, so any suggestions?

weight loss cardiff answers:

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS! They are dangerous!!

Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5’11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn’t feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.

My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.

They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that’s why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.

I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.

Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I’ve lost weight after this)

The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.

Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.

In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)

Practice portion control. Yes, you’ll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won’t have that feeling anymore.

Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)

Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Steven asks…

do you think these 10 Rules to Lose 10 Pounds and Cut Belly Fat are good and safe ?

here is the website i got it from .http://ezinearticles.com/?10-Rules-to-Lose-10-Pounds-and-Cut-Belly-Fat&id=1155726

this is what the site said to do

“Here are 10 simple rules to lose 10 pounds and cut belly fat in 2-3 weeks.

1. Eat a big breakfast with protein and fiber.

This helps you to start the day right so that you don’t have to play calorie catch-up later in the day using high calorie convenience foods.

2. Start each meal by eating a fruit such as an apple, grapes, or a grapefruit.

This helps to fill you up before you eat your meal… a meal which is more likely to have higher calorie, bad foods.

3. Eat beef jerky or string cheese for snacks.

These are some good protein snacks. Much better than carbohydrate snacks with simple sugars in them.

4. Take fish oil pills.

The healthy omega 3 fats in fish oil help with long term weight loss. Ideally, you take 6-10 grams each day with a meal.

5. Take a cold shower.

Or if you can’t do that, just rinse your body with really cold water for 15 seconds after your normal shower. This causes your body to slightly raise it’s internal core temperature. When that happens, the elevated body temperature becomes a more hostile environment for fat cells. Fat doesn’t like heat.

6. Eat 3 apples a day.

Kinda similar to another rule, but apples are incredibly powerful for weight loss due to their high water content, low calories, and high fiber. Using this rule alone would probably help you to lose 2 pounds a month without changing anything else.

7. Use a hula hoop at home.

Yep, the good ol’ hula hoop is actually a pretty good weight loss tool… works great for toning your hips and waist. Do it for 5 minutes a day.

8. Do high intensity interval training (HIIT) at the gym.

This is different from typical jogging on the treadmill. You’ll want to do whatever cardio exercise really intense for 10-15 seconds and follow it with 20-30 seconds of going slow. Keep repeating that and you’ll get an “afterburn” effect. That means you burn calories at a higher rate even after you’re done.

9. Eat 1 can of black beans everyday.

I consider black beans a super food. High in protein and fiber. Each 15 ounce can has 25 grams of protein and 25 grams of fiber. For just 48 cents at Wal-Mart, that’s quite good… especially considering the rapidly rising prices for most other foods these days!

10. Cheat

Hey, if you’re on a strict diet, if you don’t cheat you may “down-regulate” your metabolism. What that means is you will slow it down and burn less calories than you normally would. You avoid that by cheating once a week. The cheating helps to spike up your calories for 1 day which actually boosts your metabolism. Just don’t think eating a lot of calories everyday will do the same thing. It won’t.

So there you have it… 10 rules to lose 10 pounds and cut belly fat.

so what do you think , is it safe, are there side affects, is it really fun and easy, and is there anything better

thanks

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think rule number 2 & 6 are not right because no food is good in excess. Eating one apple a day and eating any of the berries family fruit or grapefruit a day is more affective & good for weight loss.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

James asks…

How can I boost my metabolism without pills or weird diet drinks?

I’ve decided to take a 4 month long diet challenge to see how much weight I can lose my August4th (my brithday)
Is there any way I can boost my metabolism naturally (fruit veggies so on) without costly pills and gross diet shakes?
🙂 Any other tips on weight loss (again no pills or shakes) are totally welcome. 🙂
Thanks!

I’m 16 by the way and havent been eating right. I’m trying to change that now.

Any diet pill or tea add will be ignored

weight loss cardiff answers:

A diet low in (or free of) starch and sugar will definitely boost metabolism. In fact, you can consume about 300 calories more per day while eating this type of diet.

Linda asks…

Is it safe to take diet pills if you take the stimulant Ritalin and anti-depressants?

I’ve been on Ritalin for over 5 years, for Narcoelpsy.
I need some help to lose weight, and was thinking about looking into diet pills.
I know Ritalin is already a stimulant, but it really doesn’t cut back my appetite.
Does anyone know if it’s safe to take diet pills if you’re on prescription stimulant and anti-depressant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

You should check with your doctor before taking any pills, but diet pills are a waste of money, don’t work, and some are actually bad for you with nasty side effects. No pill, potion or supplement will help. Please don’t fall for all the spam adverts you see.

All you need is a good healthy diet – lots of fruit and veg, and exercise. It takes time and motivation:)

Chris asks…

Are there any diet pills out there that will actually work?

I am a 19 year old girl in college, I work out regularly, and eat as healthy as I can. I know that diet pills aren’t necessarily healthy but I want to help my weight loss process with a kick start kind of thing. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what type of diet pills work, and it dexatrim (sp?) or hydroxycut are terrible for your body! Thanks a bunch!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Don’t use diet pills. They are a waste of space, time, effort, and money. Just change your eating habits- limit your calories, stop eating fast foods, junk foods, processed foods, starchy foods like potatoes and corn, bread, rice, and cakes, cookies, pies, etc, and foods with preservatives like corn syrup, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, etc, and also stick to a workout schedule of getting 30 min cardio per day, and with time the fat will be burned off. BUT be patient- real results take time!!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Michael asks…

Wanting to lose weight while pregnant?

Ok. I’m 19 weeks pregnant and doing wonderful so far! I was curious to see though if it’s possible to work out my arms and get them really toned while I’m still pregnant. Would it be harmful to my body while being pregnant to lift weights? I mean, how can i lose weight in my arms and tone other areas of my body while pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes you can, go to a local gym and talk to a trainer, but check with your doctor first.

Donna asks…

Can a really fat person lose weight while pregnant?

Has that ever been known to happen? By the way I’m 5’2″ and 125 lbs so this question has nothing to do with me or anybody I know.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Yes my mother always tells me a story about one of her old coworkers who was obese then became pregnant, as her pregnancy progressed she dieted and exercised and lost weight, apparently no-one noticed she was pregnant until she went on maternity leave because as she lost fat her uterus became larger!

George asks…

Is it okay to lose weight while your pregnant?

I know for some people its not safe but listen to my story first and tell me what you think. Okay im 221 Ibs. But if I myself and the baby gets enough to eat is it safe for me to lose weight while im pregnant?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Listen, I was 230 when I got preg. You can eat healthy and keep the weight gain down, exercise and take the vitamins. You need to concentrate and making the best environment for your child while inside you instead of worring about. I know you would like to loose weight as I did but, i only gained 25 lbs which is not that bad. Just eat healthy, you are going to gain some weight it is not unavoidable. You can loose some but you need to think of having the most healthy pregnancy that you can. The nutrients that you take in is what makes your baby what he/she is. You dont want to overload yourself with fattning foods and sugars, you will be fine. And if you breastfeed you won’t believe how you will lost the weight and faster then you would otherwise. As soon as this baby is born you can go ahead and start on a strick weight losing schedule, and plus the healthy eating and the exercise will be great for the child to see since you will continue after the baby is old enough to eat and exercise with you. Enjoy this time and don’t worry. Having a healthy child is more important then anything else right now.
