Lots of great answers so far. I tried doing WW on my own with my wife(who is a lifetime member) and ended up quitting every time. I finally decided to officially join and am down 16 lbs in 7 weeks. I’m not sure what it is about joining (the weigh in?) but this is the only time it has worked for me.

I think what makes it different is that you don’t have to eat a special diet to do it. You can eat all of your usual ‘comfort’ foods, you just need to get the portions under control which it teaches you how to do. The article below explains how to do it without joining if you so choose…

The Paleo Diet, or Primal eating – basically you look at the foods available to you at the store and try to choose those that closely represent what a hunter gatherer would eat.

Both diets are focused on the idea that most of the foods that are common to westernized people today haven’t been a part of our diets for most of human existence. So cutting whole grains, sugar, and seed oils like Canola, soybean, vegetable/corn oils. Once you remove those foods you lower your levels of inflammation, which corrects hormonal issues (like insulin resistance, which is a sign your body is producing a lot of insulin but isn’t responding to it).

To the “Doctor:” Type 2 diabetes doesn’t always mean an “under functioning of pancreas” Haha. It’s often an overactive pancreas but the problem is your body doesn’t respond to all the insulin.

I am a fairly active mother of two, and I am having issues losing weight. I work out every day for about an hour, and I work as a waitress, so I’m on my feet for 6-8 hours a day. I have really hit a wall on weight loss and I would like to try something to get the weight off fast. I eat healthy and in small portions, and I drink lots of water. I am healthy, except for the weight. What weight loss pill would you recommend?

None. Weight Loss pills are not FDA approved, and in many cases found to be ineffective.

Eat Healthy, Eat right (missing meals starts fat build up), and drink a lot of water – like you are doing.

Working out wise. Do more. If you do the same routine everyday your body will get used to it and you will not lose weight. Try doing cardio one day, aerobics another. Don’t slow down, do meaningful physical training.

@Emily. That’s a daily muti-vitamin, not a weight loss pill. I take a multi-vitamin everyday, there’s no harm to it.

I have lost nearly 50lbs.
I have the weight LOSS system down.

You need to go on a maintenance diet for the rest of your life.

You need to stick to your Weight Watchers points quota per day and allow yourself only a few extra points a day and keep checking your weight once or twice a day. If you start gaining weight you need to reduce your points quota and if you start losing weight you could allow yourself a few extra points.

Im 17 5ft 5 and 145 lb’s and want to lose some weight. Ive cut out chocolate at college and replaced it with an orange and an apple. Its hard at college because the food choice is poor. Also my mum cooks so i have to eat what im given which isn’t always healthy. I walk my dogs 3 times a day for 20-30 Min’s and do dog agility. To look great start small every day do a little more start by drinking lots of water you should drink about 8 ounce of glass water a day. Stay away from fried food, eat veggies, fruits.. In stead of eating three big meals a day, eat small snacks every two-three hours. Start by walking around your block everyday for about 10-15 mins. And to achieve more walk/run longer every day. I hope i helped and i believe you can achieve the body you want you just need to stay disciplined/ strict to yourself good luck 🙂
