Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Joseph asks…

I have appt at weight loss clinic, with a BMI of 36 will the doctor prescribe me weight loss pills?

I go in tomorrow for blood work, urinalysis, and ECG. When my results come back I go in and speak with the doctor. I already know my BMI is 36 that means highly obese. But I am no sure if he will give me weight loss pills, even though it is a weight loss clinic. What kind of of weight loss pill could I expect to get? And about how much does a prescription cost?

Linda asks…

Will a doctor prescribe weight loss pills to you if you’re under 18?

I really need to lose some stomach fat, but I don’t have money to buy those weight loss pills online, and I don’t trust anyone selling them on eBay. If you have any weight loss tips or websites that would be awesome, too. Thank you!

weight loss cardiff answers:

You should not take those even if they were given to you. Exercise and eat healthy. Loosing weight takes time and depends on your own body. Your body easily gets used to an amount of weight and tries to maintain it. This is so drastic that if you stop eating fatty foods, your body will actually absorb more fat from foods that have less fat. Even if your pills work, you will gain your weight back as soon as you stop taking them, they are by no means a solution. You wanna lose weight you gotta do it the old fashion way. Work out as much as REASONABLY possible, eat a a diet as balanced as possible and keep it up for the next 60 years. What would really help though, is consulting a nutritionist and getting an instructor for your exercise. Profesional help is extremely helpful IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THE WORK -some people consult professionals but refuse to make an effort-. Anyways, good luck.

David asks…

Are there any weight loss pills that can be taken by hypothyroid people?

Are there any pills that do not cause any side effects that can be used by hypothyroid people for weight loss? Can anyone suggest name of pills and source of purchase???

weight loss cardiff answers:

No, there aren’t.

Hypothyroid people need to consume foods that stimulate the thyroid and avoid foods that disrupt thyroid function.

Of all the foods to avoid – anything containing soy. Soy is the absolute worst thing you can give to your thyroid, especially if you’re on medication for hypothyroidism.

Also limit all other goitrogenic foods (google this for a list).

Thyroid stimulating foods include coconut and coconut oil, avocadoes, shellfish, fish, and seaweed.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Laura asks…

Why do I overheat so easily?

I overheat very easily, in fact when most people around me are complaining of being freezing I am usually at my most comfortable. That in itself doesn’t bother me too much, except when it comes to even mild exercise I have to stop very early; not because I am out of breath, but because I am too hot. It effects me very badly, I now rarely do any exercise as I cannot do any for sustained periods (10 minutes of jogging, or even a brisk walk and I can feel my face burning).

I am not particularly overweight, I could stand to lose a stone or two, but that weight is mostly because having been unable to effectively exercise, I have gradually put on weight.

Due to the fact that I am also constantly tired, and have insomnia I have had blood tests to rule out just about everything that would cause excessive tiredness, including thyroid problems, so I do not believe that this is the problem.

If anyone has any ideas as to what might cause something like this, I would appreciate it.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Perhaps your body temperature is too high and you have some hyperthermia problems. Such problems are sometimes (but not very often) side effects from prescription medication.

Lisa asks…

Running vs Weight training for weight loss?

I am a 27 year old male, 5’10” and weigh 295lbs. I have lost and gained large amounts of weight in my life thus far, and am gearing up for another big weight loss push. Ironically, I don’t like weight lifting and have always prefered running. You wouldn’t think for a guy my size, but I’ve always like it. Monday, I started running again, and I was able to run a 10 minute mile before having to walk and rest. I know 10 minutes is not a great time for a mile, but hey, you don’t weigh 295lbs. This morning was my 3rd morning running 1 mile, and then walk / jog about another mile after that, and I felt very week this time. My legs my back, everything. Mind you, I’m not saying that I was sore, because I understand the difference. My legs and low back were just very fatigued. What I’m worried about is, I don’t want to push my body to breaking down muscle, so I’m making sure to not eliminate carbs from my diet, but not go overboard either as to facilitate fat loss. An open ended question like this makes for 2 page answers, so let me tell you already what I understand about the body and fat burning. I understand that the best way to burn fat is to build a more muscular body that naturally burns more calories at rest, and that cardio does not do this. Also, I understand that cardio does not burn fat while in the act, because it needs a faster source of energy, that being carbs which are easily turned into glucose. Running is the only thing that I enjoy and would be able to stick with long term. So I need to leverage that to help with the weight loss. What I need is practical advice to apply my love of running most effectively towards the goal of burning fat. I would expect that diet would be a integral part of this undertaking.

So what diet would you recommend, (carbs to protein ratio) etc..
What workout schedule should I use here in the beginning?
What workout schedule should I use 3-6 months down the road?
Should I work to improve my the time of my mile, or just focus on lengthening distance without walking?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Watchfully analyze the calorie suggestions of any diet program earlier than you start it. You will almost certainly find out that 95% of diet programs have you cut your calories to “starvation” degrees. Extremely low calorie diets will have an effect on weight loss at the start, unfortunately not for long.

The human body always automatically strives to sustain an outstanding condition of balance: metabolism, body temperature, blood sugar, hormone levels, acid-alkaline balance and each additional system in the body, are all normalized within a narrow range that your body gets secure and comfortable.

As we know that the human body is very intelligent, it has abilities to constantly maintain all of these balances automatically even when we sleep.

Whenever you make a radical action with intention to formulate immediate change such as very fast weight loss, your metabolism in cybernetic regulate it to maintain stability in energy balance, very similar system as a thermostat maintains the temperature of your home in a desirable range.

Whenever you are at risk of starving, naturally your body immediately responses this condition, it is well-known as “the starvation response”. In this circumstance your body will suddenly regulate your metabolic rate downward similar to a thermostat, which means you burn fewer calories.

Extremely low calories diets can basically make you fatter. It is physiologically impracticable to achieve ‘permanent’ fat loss and lean body by starving yourself.

The only way to achieve permanent fat loss and retain it forever is to decrease your calories faintly and increase your activity greatly. It is always much more improved burn the fat than attempt to starve the fat on behalf of successfully lose your fat permanently.

How can me and my Ex Effectively cut ourselves off from one another?

We broke up b/c I felt restrained in the relationship, he didnt like me going to the bar, drinking, or spending alot of time with my friends, I finally got sick of it and now he says I tricked him into beleiving I would convert to his religion, and how I made him give up evrythng and now im abandoning him. Were friends now, well trying to be friends. He has ALOT of issues but i was tired of helping him with minimal progress. Long story short we both tried to control each other and drove each other insane. One thing with me is i keep whitholding things from him because of his temper, and his ability to become easily upset! He gets upset so easy so i try not to tell him something or i put it off and he calles me a liar. I ve ” lied” so many times because im afriad of his temper, now im a liar and i cant keep letting him down but the only way i know how to console him is thru love and i keep surrendering my power to him giving in when hes upset because i feel like he needs me or something. I want o be his friend, but him remain mentally stable, and me too. We both keep freaking out and i cant handle the stress anymore. I feel sorry for him cause he lost so much weight and muslce cause he stopped going to the gym, stopping hanging with his friends, he lost me, i feel like he is depressed, and his family life is so terrible. How can i help him get over me, and help him be happy, but at the same time live my life without feeling like im walking on eggshells.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Stop being at his beck and call, don’t answer him at all and don’t contact him. He has a controlling influence over you, so just drop all contact with him altogether.

Lizzie asks…

Whats the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

I want to be either a nutritionist or a dietitian when I am older, so what is the difference? What qualifications do you need for each job, and what subjects should I take in school? I chose not to do science this year because it was up against food & nutrition so I thought food & nutrition would be more important for being a dietitian/nutritionist.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The term nutritionist is subject to several interpretations. However, it should never be confused with the term dietitian.

In many jurisdictions a nutritionist is a person who devotes professional activity to food and preventive nutrition. They can also advise people on dietary matters relating to health, well-being and nutrition.

In some jurisdictions such as the UK and some US states the term “nutritionist” is not a legally protected term. As a result, some nutritionists who appear in the media in these jurisdictions may give advice on diet that is of questionable informational value.

The term “dietitian” is legally protected. Dietitians are registered with the American Dietetic Association and are only able to use the title “dietitian” when they have met strict, specific educational and experiential prerequisites and passed a national registration examination.

The title “nutritionist” is protected and designated by many but not all states in the United States. It is important that a person seeking the counsel of a nutritionist, check with their local state’s licensing agency to find out if prospective practitioners are duly licensed.

Traditionally, dietitians work in institutional settings, such as hospitals, schools and prisons, rather than in private practice. Nutritionists sometimes work in such institutional but more often work in private practice, in education and research. Some overlap exists within the two professions.

John asks…

How difficult is it to become a dietitian?

I’m wondering how hard the schooling is to become a dietitian? I’m pretty sure this is what I want to do. I’m wondering if there is anyone out there who has successfully completed the program that could let me know!

I’ve noticed it compared to pharmacy a lot. Is it on the same level of difficult?

Any tips?!

Thanks!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Michael asks…

Easy weight-loss??

Are there any easy and effective ways to lose weight? Are there any foods that I should make sure to eat and not eat? And what are some effective exercises that I can do at home? I want to get fit, so I really need to know alot.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Well I think it’s totally about self-control:

Breakfast: integral toast and a 70-calorie yogurt

Lunch: Fruit (any kind, except banana) and a fish (not fried)

Snack if you get hungry: gum or 90-calorie diet bar

Dinner: Light soup (not a creamy soup, it has too much fat)
Or maybe a cup of special K or cheerios

Some other tips:
DON’T EVER DINNER AFTER 7PM, IT HAS BEEN PROVEN IN INVESTIGATIONS AND THAT HELPS A LOT, TRY TO DINNER BEFORE 7, I SWEAR IT’S AMAZING

I recommend you coffee in the morning, it gives you a lot of energy! (without sugar, or maybe splenda)

Another thing is to drink green tea twice a day, it burns fat and it’s good for your health

And of course, do at least 50 abs per day

Good luck

weight loss cardiff answers:

TRY THIS, and stick to it.

Fruits and Veggies

the first 3-4 weeks are the hardest until your boy adjusts to the change.
Results will be in about the same time

STAY WAY form White Bread, white rice, sugar or anything bleached

Eat more plants and keep away from stuff that was made in plants.
Don’t eat anything that comes in a can, box or package…THEY HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM THAT MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO THE FOOD
If man made it, don’t eat it

Stay away from FAST FOOD

Walk your dog, or walk a friends dog

Don’t think of it as a diet, but think of it as a lifestyle change

I have lost 25.5 pounds in 2 months, drink lots of water. I usually eat a meal of what ever I want once a week….controlled portion….this really works………

Write down every thing you eat

Take a multi vitamin at night
