Im 175 pounds and 5’8. Im not fat but, i could do with losing a couple of pounds. Ive been going to the YMCA for the last couple of months but i havent really lost weight. Could someone give me maybe some exercise routines or tips for building abs and weight loss?

When it comes to losing weight, staying motivated is one of the hardest thing to do. You tend to want to give up after not seeing results early in your program. However, you should keep you eye on your goal. Whether it is to lose 10 pounds, 25 pounds or even 100 pounds. You see the only person that knows what you really want is you. Tell yourself you can do it and follow through with your program. Below are some tips to help you stay focus and lose weight.

Tip #1- Avoid going on the scale on a regular basis. For most people the is a bad habit. You see the scale can be very discouraging. If you constantly go on the scale and do not see a decrease in your weight you will feel like giving up because you may think that your program is not working. But note that the scale can be misleading. You see while you are losing weight, you are also building muscles. Therefore it will not show on the scale since the mass of your muscles will replace the weight loss. So to avoid feeling discouraged, you should avoid the scale.

Tip #2- Do not compare your body with others. Everyone has a different genetic make up. Some people can lose weight fast while some people will take months. Now if you are comparing yourself with others, you will only discourage yourself more and not focus on your real goal that you want to achieve.

Tip #3- Treat yourself after you cross small milestones. This will motivate you to continue. So break down your long term goals into smaller goals and once you achieve one of your goals, treat yourself to something nice.

I am 18 and seriously want to lose weight, but keep failing. I feel like I am doing soemthing wrong, but don’t know what. I have a gym membership and feel like its going to waste. I’m not overweight but certainly would not like to get there so does anyone know of any effective yet easy diet and workout plans?

I have not tried this yet but a few of my friends have told me i have to try The Diet Solution. They keep telling me I have to try it. I think Im going to try it later this week.

Other than that I would try to lift weights, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and other basic exercises 3 times a week.

Diets have come and gone and a new one will be invented tomorrow promising you everything and delivering very little. That is because they are considered something you go on and then go off. In other words, they are temporary. That is not to say they are useless just that they will never give you continued success unless you change some things permanently.

What is a Diet Good for?

Diets have their place in your weight loss goals. First of all, they can be beneficial to jump starting your metabolism. Kind of a fire starter if you will. A jump-start will give you more energy and the initial weight loss can boost your self-confidence.

However, you will need to be ready to make some whole life changes if you want the results to be permanent. What are some changes you will need to make? Well a lot of that depends on you.

Lifestyle Changes- Fast Food

Are you a fast food junkie who eats out at least a couple of times per week? If so, you will find that you have plenty of company. Many people are so busy that the drive through is a perfect solution for dinner, lunch and even breakfast. Does this mean you can never have fast food again? Not necessarily, but it will mean that you have to be aware of what you are eating. Most fast food places have a website that contains all the nutritional information for the foods they serve. Check them out then make you a list of “safe” fast foods.

Exercise Changes

If you never move your body more than from the house to the car to work and back you will have a hard time losing weight and keeping it off. The human body functions best when there are periods of exercise. It increases mood stabilizers in the blood stream and best of all burns calories.

While you are on your diet, take the time to incorporate exercise into your life. You will feel better and increase your weight loss rates exponentially. Start with a walk, park further away from the store or your office. Then as you progress, find time to walk more or jog. Whatever you can comfortably fit in your schedule will be a great place to start.

Healthy Eating

This is absolutely the most important part of all. While you are on your chosen diet, you will want to become familiar with healthier food choices. Find ways to make your favorite foods better for you. Can you substitute ground turkey for ground beef in some recipes? Learn new recipes that include fresh fruits and vegetables.

You see your body needs several things to function at a healthy level. Proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals just to name a few. You also need certain fats to cushion joints and protect your vital organs. Create a lifestyle eating plan that brings all of these elements into play and you will feel amazing and best of all you will be able to lose weight and keep it off.

How much weight could I lose in 2 weeks?

I am 5’6 and currently 185 pounds (overweight with an obese BMI yuck) I want to lose more weight, but as of now my short term goal weight is somewhere around 175 before or somewhere close to 2 weeks.

Would this be possible? I’m already reducing my calories and exercising for 2 hours at the gym. I’ve also heard that overweight people lose weight quicker than someone of normal weight.

It could be possible with the right exercise and calorie intake. If you are obese then yes sometimes ppl with more fat tend to loose it a bit quicker at first. I would say at the most you could loose 6 lbs at a healthy rate in two weeks.

I’m sure you will…i’m going to start eating only fruits and veggies tomorrow until i lose all the weight i want and then just continue to eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Someone else on here said they lost like 30 pounds in 3 months and they had a ‘cheat’ day a week where they hadd other things too lol…google fruit fast for some more info and good luck!

Is this diet good for weight loss? EASY 10 POINTS?

Breakfast – Oatmeal (with milk), 1 apple, 1 orange.
Lunch – Chicken sandwich with white bread with tomatoes, (no oil, pinch of salt, lemon juice), grapes.
Dinner – 2 boiled eggs, 1 boiled carrot.

with some fruit for snacks in-between the meals.

I’ll be doing this diet for 2-3 weeks, along with exercise. I just want to know if that diet is good, and if there are any alterations needed to be made? Thanks xxx

These are the things that I have done for me to lose weight. I hope these things can also help you.

Food:
Try reducing your meat intake such as beef, pork and chicken.
Try eating more fruits, vegetables and fish

Drinks:
Less intake of sodas/carbonated drinks and juices.
More on fresh fruit juices, especially water.

Try to excercise regularly. Spend at least 30 minutes. Try briskwalking then jogging maybe 1-2 miles or more if you can.
