Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

Best weight loss options and plans?

Okay so,
I’m only seventeen, but I am turning eighteen in March.
I’m a senior in High school, graduating in June and in college by September.
I know weight loss in only a few months isn’t instant, but I want a long-term plan, not a short-term solution.
I have always been bigger than my female peers, but I was always focused on getting through school, however, now that I am attending college soon, I want to make a change.
A new chapter of my life, a new, healthier, body and self-image to go along with it.
..
What is the best plan or option for losing weight?
I know the basics like metabolism, eating habits, exercise..all that stuff..
I would like to know what plans(Weight watchers, Nutrisystem…ect) would be the best.
Money is a factor, sadly, in my decision.
Cheap is not what I am looking for, I’m just looking for affordable.
Can anyone help?
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

From what I hear, Weight Watchers is a really good plan, and the advantage is that you don’t have to buy their food.

If you want to make your own plan, read up on nutrition and put together a plan that is high in vegetables, some animal protein like chicken, fish, eggs, and occasional lean beef, a little bit of whole grains, and some fruit, but no sodas, baked stuff that has sugar, no candy, nothing with corn syrup in it. Eat a handful of nuts instead of pretzels or cookies, and just stay away from stuff that has empty calories. If you’re not on a diet like that right now, you will definitely slim down by going on it. Good luck! Dr. Mercola’s website has a plan for finding your nutritional type, and what to eat on the plan.

Laura asks…

weight loss plan……..?

For the past 3 months i have just been building muscle doing dips, pushups, chin ups etc. Eating a normal diet with alot of carbs, snacks, vegetables, fruit and meats.

Im 5′ 11″ and 165lb, and i want to lose 10lb in 4 weeks. i plan on running 3 miles each day[and continue after loss every 2nd day] and lowering the intensity of my workout.

Whats foods should i eat and when, what is the optimum time to go running morning or afternoon? before or after meals?

!0 pound weight loss in one month is too fast for some one who needs to loose weight. Your weight is normal and you still want to loss 10 lbs. One month is simply not healthy. Running 3 miles burns about 300 calories. Unless you would need to starve yourself. I am not sure why you are trying to trim 10 lbs off a normal weight for you height. That is normal for a male or a female. You just can not afford to loose that much weight. Reconsider please.

Mark asks…

Is this an appropriate weight loss plan?

I just though I would get some advice on my dogs’ weight loss plans.

Dog #1
3yr old Yorkshire Terrier – Sophie – http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/chichirme/1-8-09/102_6279-1.jpg . She really is only a tad overweight. She weighs 6.5lbs and she needs to weigh 5lbs, she has gotten a little round through the middle. She gets a 1/4 scoop of http://www.smartpakequine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassid=2543 , 2x per day.

Dog #1
7yr old Chihuahua, Precious – http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/chichirme/Christmas%20Pictures/Christmaspictures08066-1.jpg . She is technically obese, weighs 14lbs, needs to weigh 9-10lbs. She gets 1/4 cup in the AM and 1/8 cup with carrots and/or cucumbers in the PM of this http://www.smartpakequine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassid=5774

I would like to set a goal of dropping 2lbs for Precious and 1lb for Sophie in one month, does this sound doable/reasonable?

The girls currently are walking 1 mile a day. Sophie loves every minute of it and probably could go longer, Precious hates every minute of it but goes along with it because Sophie does. Precious is usually panting by the end of the walk but is not exhausted.

I would like to add 1/2 a mile to a walk per week, does that sound okay or is that asking too much?

Thanks for any comments/advice!

PS. I have an appointment made with the vet for their annual physical next month and we will discuss what we are doing with him.

The trick with weight loss is to use more kilojoules than are taken in. While increasing their exercise is great, you will need to re-examine what they eat and make sure that no-one is feeding them ‘snacks’ .

I raw fed and the amount to feed is based on ‘ideal’ adult weight. The approximate ratio is 2-3% per day – toys often need 3-4% as they are quite energetic. As your dogs really are quite overweight they would still lose weight at the 4% amount.

So your yorkie would need 5 x 0.03 = 0.2 lbs (or about 90 grams) per day and your chi at 10lbs double that amount. Not only will your dogs end up with much cleaner mouths, they will get a lot a sastifaction from their ‘real’ meals.
