Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Carol asks…

How many pounds will be lost in 2 weeks?

Okay my cousin is trying to lose weight..
They are 13, a girl, 130 lbs and their height is around 5’5

If they jog 1 for hour and do 100 jump rope things at day, about how many pounds will they lose in 2 weeks?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hmm… Need to know their caloric intake. Normally, when dieting properly, people lose between .5 and 2 lbs/week. It’ll probably be about 1. They are being very active, but are a lower weight so it’ll be harder to lose.

How to lose weight in 2 weeks?

I’m going on holiday in 2 weeks and I really want to lose some weight. I’ve read that cardio is a good way to lose weight at home. Can you recommend a routine that will let me lose fat for belly, bum, thigh and leg areas? Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Recently I’ve been trying to get rid of some weight too. I highly recommend you go on a high protein and low carb diet. But be very prepared. When I first started this diet I was basically starving myself because I wasn’t too sure on what to eat and stuff. You can eat loads of protein stick to whole meat and try stay away from greasy bacon and sausages, eat as little bread as you can that has helped me loads and stay away from fizzy drinks and snacking. If you don’t usually work out do a 2 mile walk a day or something like 30 minutes or more to start with and then maybe start jogging and then get into running. This has helped me and i have lost weight. When I first started I was so discouraged because I didn’t see a change straight away and started snacking again which was stupid but I have stopped snacking and getting that thin body I have always wanted. Good luck and eat loads of veg xD x

How Long Does it Take to See Weight Loss Results?

I’ve been losing weight for about 2 weeks now, ( 2 pounds a week) and I can’t see any difference in the (bum bum bum) mirror. My clothes feel different and I tried on my smallest shirt, and it didn’t feel as tiny. But I still can’t see anything in the mirror. How long does it take?

weight loss cardiff answers:

2 pounds a week for 2 weeks is just 4 pounds…its not that noticible….try to see how many inches you are around ur body (stomach, hips, chest…etc.) usually it will needto be more than 4 bpounds to see a difference..just saying

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It’s the same workout given to the olympic Japanese speed skiing team, so don’t come into it thinking it’s gonna be easy by any means.

Nancy asks…

I want to lose some weight before my big wedding day in Sept. 08. I eat healthy foods but I want to start?

exercising. How fast will my results show and how much weight is possible to lose just by incorporating exercise into my life? What types of exercise work best for weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Eating several (5-6) small portion meals of everyday healthy food per day, along with exercise, will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time, without dieting or counting calories.
You will lose an average of 2-3 lbs per week
(eat about every 2 hours)
Meal suggestions:
piece of fruit
bowl of cereal (high fiber low sugar)
bowl of oatmeal
string cheese, summer sausage
cottage cheese/yogurt (lowfat)
tuna/turkey/ham sandwich (lettuce, tomatoe)
pizza
soup
salad
raw veggies
boiled eggs
popcorn
Always eat a good dinner (small portions)…fish/meat (bake, broil, grill) potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie…your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy…cooking with olive oil is best.
Low calorie sweets…sugarless candy, ginger snap cookies,
fig bars, 100% juice popsicles
Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses per day)
Drink milk (low fat) or 100% juice/water with every meal
(no soda pop or flavored drinks)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods (no fast-food)
Never eat before going to bed
“Daily” simple and cardio exercise (30 min. Per day) like walking/hiking, running, biking, kick boxing, swimming, jumping jacks, aerobics, dancing and playing any games that uses a ball, will shed pounds, tone your body and keep it fit.
Food is fuel, energy for the body, if you don’t exercise to burn the energy, it turns to fat…fasting or skipping meals lowers your metabolism and forces the body to hold on to calories/fat, causing headaches, fatigue and weakness…weight loss pills damage your organs leading to diabetes, kidney and heart disease, even death.
Losing weight at a healthy pace along with exercising everyday you will feel and look so good. (over 30 lbs by sept)

Having gastric bypass surgery in a week. How much weight can I expect to loose in the first few months?

I realize that everyone is different when it comes to weight loss and recovery. However, I am just trying to get a non-textbook answer. I am very excited about the surgery and am just trying to anticipate the results. I am kinda hoping someone can tell me what they experienced. How much weight can I expect to loose by christmas if I exercise?

weight loss cardiff answers:

It can vary widely but the average weight loss in 3 months is 40-50 pounds. Christmas is about 5 months away so if you work very hard, eat right, take your vitamins and excercise correctly, you could see a weight loss of 60-80 pounds. But everyone is different and I am in no way saying that you would totally lose that much. I lost 30 pounds my first month, 70 pounds at 3 months and 115 at 8 months. A friend of mine who had surgery around the same time as me, has only lost 80 pounds so far to my 115. We excercise together, have the same diet but since our bodies are different, we have lost differently. You will lose weight quite quickly int he beginign when you can only eat pureed foods but as you add foods to your diet, you will lose more slowly. It’s easy to sneak in extra calories so use that will power!!

Good Luck! I hope that the surgery is everything you want it to be and more. It changed my life in so many ways. I can play with my son, I can walk down the street without feeling like everyone is staring at me and laughing. I feel beautiful for the first time in years. My life has begun at the age of 31!!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Donald asks…

How do you use caffeine pills safely for weight loss?

I want to lose a few pounds, and I’ve heard a lot about how caffeine pills make it easier to do so. However, I’ve been researching, and it seems they can become dangerous. I was wondering how to use them specifically for weight loss (I understand that having more energy is unavoidable, but that’s okay), but to do so safely. I’d love to hear firsthand stories.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Caffeine pills may be able to help enhance your weight loss, but it won’t work on its own.

To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you eat, it’s very simple math. Say you burn 2000 cals per day – then you need to eat less than that, somewhere around 1200-1500 cals per day. You should see results in a month or so, but everyone’s body is different.

Also, why not try a little cardio exercise? Just run or jog for 20-30 minutes, 5 days a week, and that in combination with the calorie diet will cause weight loss results.

Lisa asks…

How effective is mountain biking when it comes to weight loss?

I got a little heavy these last couple of years, and I am looking to work it all off. I am only a little chunky, not fat or anything, but I want the body I once had.

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, its hard with school and work to go more than that, but I do own a nice mountain bike, and live right next to a mountain preserve, which there is MANY bike trails. It would be easier to take my bike out than drive to the gym.

But my question is, how effective is mountain biking? Is it a good form of cardio? I do weight training at the gym, usually an hour set sometimes longer. Will doing this help with fat // weight loss?

weight loss cardiff answers:

When it comes to weight loss its not a big help.

Laura asks…

What are some foods that are absolutely off limits for weight loss?

Just wondering. I’m having trouble with cravings like I’ll be good when I can control my own food and portions but my dad cooks supper for my family and makes things like baked potato, chicken nuggets, spaghetti and cheeseburgers but with lean beef. Really easy stuff he makes that I’m not sure is good for weight loss is it ok to eat these things and what would a typical weight loss supper look like?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Start checking the calories on EVERYTHING you eat (I recommend the Calorie King website). After a week or two, you’ll start to know without checking what you want to eat and what you don’t want to eat.

Compare those chicken nuggets against a chicken breast. At the SAME calorie count, which do you think would fill you up better … 3 chicken nuggets, or half (one side) of a roasted chicken breast (skin removed)?

Of COURSE you’re having trouble with cravings! You can’t eat enough to satisfy yourself with that kind of food. Not only that, but when you eat pasta, baked potato, and yes … Even the breading on the chicken nuggets (check out “high glycemic” foods), these foods are digested very quickly and rush into your bloodstream. You blood sugars go really high. Then your pancreas dumps a lot of insulin into the blood stream to remove the excess blood sugar … But you’ve digested all that fast-digesting food, so your body ends up lowering your blood sugar TOO much. Then you’re hungry and you have cravings.

It also helps to eat smaller meals, but eat 5 times per day. And to try to always have some protein, because it takes longer to feel hungry again when you’ve eaten some protein.

Better learn how to cook for yourself. Ask your dad if he can give you an allowance to buy your own food.

I am losing a pound a week … A healthy amount that does not harm my body and is not likely to be regained. Because of your age, you can probably eat 500 calories MORE per day than I and still lose a pound a week. But this is a sample day for me…

Breakfast … Instant low-calorie oatmeal with 1/2 cup of low-fat vanilla yogurt and 1/2 cup of fresh berries. And a banana.

Mid-morning … Whole wheat low-fat crackers and soft low-fat cheese. Slices of cucumber, a few cherry tomatoes, and a raw carrot. And, over the course of the morning, two cups of caffeine-free, unsweetened herbal tea.

Lunch … Half a whole wheat pita with sliced chicken breast (about 3 oz.), gobs of lettuce, cucumber slices, sliced onion, green pepper slices, and 1 Tablespoon low-fat Ranch dressing. Plus 1 cup skim milk, and 1/4 of a canteloupe.

Mid-afternoon … One slice of Weight Watcher’s wholegrain bread with 1 Tablespoon almond butter. Plus a nectarine and a stalk of celery.

Supper … Salmon baked in foil with fresh rosemary, a spash of white cooking wine and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Half a baked sweet potato with pepper. Lots of steamed broccoli and cauliflower with 1 pat of butter melted over it and a squeeze of lemon. One cup skim milk.

AND 8 cups of water a day.

I have not felt deprived on this diet. Everytime I am tempted to eat a baked good or something else fattening, I think about how many calories are in that item, how it will NOT put off hunger but will in fact increase my cravings … Easy to turn down.

I have lost 10 pounds in 9 weeks. My activity/exercise level would be rated as about halfway between “light” and “moderate”
