Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Helen asks…

Best weight loss options and plans?

Okay so,
I’m only seventeen, but I am turning eighteen in March.
I’m a senior in High school, graduating in June and in college by September.
I know weight loss in only a few months isn’t instant, but I want a long-term plan, not a short-term solution.
I have always been bigger than my female peers, but I was always focused on getting through school, however, now that I am attending college soon, I want to make a change.
A new chapter of my life, a new, healthier, body and self-image to go along with it.
..
What is the best plan or option for losing weight?
I know the basics like metabolism, eating habits, exercise..all that stuff..
I would like to know what plans(Weight watchers, Nutrisystem…ect) would be the best.
Money is a factor, sadly, in my decision.
Cheap is not what I am looking for, I’m just looking for affordable.
Can anyone help?
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

weight loss cardiff answers:

From what I hear, Weight Watchers is a really good plan, and the advantage is that you don’t have to buy their food.

If you want to make your own plan, read up on nutrition and put together a plan that is high in vegetables, some animal protein like chicken, fish, eggs, and occasional lean beef, a little bit of whole grains, and some fruit, but no sodas, baked stuff that has sugar, no candy, nothing with corn syrup in it. Eat a handful of nuts instead of pretzels or cookies, and just stay away from stuff that has empty calories. If you’re not on a diet like that right now, you will definitely slim down by going on it. Good luck! Dr. Mercola’s website has a plan for finding your nutritional type, and what to eat on the plan.

Laura asks…

weight loss plan……..?

For the past 3 months i have just been building muscle doing dips, pushups, chin ups etc. Eating a normal diet with alot of carbs, snacks, vegetables, fruit and meats.

Im 5′ 11″ and 165lb, and i want to lose 10lb in 4 weeks. i plan on running 3 miles each day[and continue after loss every 2nd day] and lowering the intensity of my workout.

Whats foods should i eat and when, what is the optimum time to go running morning or afternoon? before or after meals?

weight loss cardiff answers:

!0 pound weight loss in one month is too fast for some one who needs to loose weight. Your weight is normal and you still want to loss 10 lbs. One month is simply not healthy. Running 3 miles burns about 300 calories. Unless you would need to starve yourself. I am not sure why you are trying to trim 10 lbs off a normal weight for you height. That is normal for a male or a female. You just can not afford to loose that much weight. Reconsider please.

Mark asks…

Is this an appropriate weight loss plan?

I just though I would get some advice on my dogs’ weight loss plans.

Dog #1
3yr old Yorkshire Terrier – Sophie – http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/chichirme/1-8-09/102_6279-1.jpg . She really is only a tad overweight. She weighs 6.5lbs and she needs to weigh 5lbs, she has gotten a little round through the middle. She gets a 1/4 scoop of http://www.smartpakequine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassid=2543 , 2x per day.

Dog #1
7yr old Chihuahua, Precious – http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/chichirme/Christmas%20Pictures/Christmaspictures08066-1.jpg . She is technically obese, weighs 14lbs, needs to weigh 9-10lbs. She gets 1/4 cup in the AM and 1/8 cup with carrots and/or cucumbers in the PM of this http://www.smartpakequine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassid=5774

I would like to set a goal of dropping 2lbs for Precious and 1lb for Sophie in one month, does this sound doable/reasonable?

The girls currently are walking 1 mile a day. Sophie loves every minute of it and probably could go longer, Precious hates every minute of it but goes along with it because Sophie does. Precious is usually panting by the end of the walk but is not exhausted.

I would like to add 1/2 a mile to a walk per week, does that sound okay or is that asking too much?

Thanks for any comments/advice!

PS. I have an appointment made with the vet for their annual physical next month and we will discuss what we are doing with him.

weight loss cardiff answers:

The trick with weight loss is to use more kilojoules than are taken in. While increasing their exercise is great, you will need to re-examine what they eat and make sure that no-one is feeding them ‘snacks’ .

I raw fed and the amount to feed is based on ‘ideal’ adult weight. The approximate ratio is 2-3% per day – toys often need 3-4% as they are quite energetic. As your dogs really are quite overweight they would still lose weight at the 4% amount.

So your yorkie would need 5 x 0.03 = 0.2 lbs (or about 90 grams) per day and your chi at 10lbs double that amount. Not only will your dogs end up with much cleaner mouths, they will get a lot a sastifaction from their ‘real’ meals.

How to speed up weight loss?

Im 5″3 and weigh 123lbs. Since 2 weeks ago, Ive started changing my eating habits to include more vegetables, fruits & exclude all forms of fast food & fried food. my goal is to go down to 110lbs but im only losing 2lbs/ week. How can i speed up my weight loss?
By the way, i exeercise 5days/week for 2hrs each.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss is generally something people expect to be easy but then they quickly learn that it has its challenges. Weight loss doesn’t happen overnight for most people. The tips around the Internet are also confusing and often misleading to those that are trying to safely lose the pounds in a fast manner. These tips are designed to be easy, straightforward, and effective.

Tip 1:

Losing weight is science. It’s also math. You don’t need to be great at either, but it helps if you understand basic 7th grade mathematics. It takes 3,500 calories to lose one pound. Most people will exercise and cut back on their food intake to slash calories. A 500 calorie deficit per day will result in 1 pound of weight loss per week. A 1,000 calorie deficit will result in 2 pounds per week, and so on.

The tricky part here is that a huge deficit will not result in more weight loss. Creating a 2,000 calorie deficit each day is almost impossible and it’s difficult to do without starving. Getting too high above a 1,000 calorie deficit will slow your weight loss dramatically. Moral of the story? Eat enough calories and you will lose more. Sometimes it even defies science. weight loss cardiff answers:

Losing weight isn’t easy, especially without the dangerous, but actually effective weight-loss drug Fen-Phen, which the FDA pulled from shelves due to concerns about damage the drug was doing to patients’ heart valves
other drug for fast weight loss is proactal.Proactol is a fat binder that has been clinically proven to bind up to 28% of the fat you eat meaning… 28% of the fat you eat WILL NOT be absorbed by your body.Proactol is also the first weight loss pill which is approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) as a Medical Device Product for the treatment of obesity and weight loss.

Ruth asks…

LA Weight Loss menu plan?

Does anyone know where I can find the LA WEIGHT LOSS menu plans online with out spending A fortune at the centers???? Any usefull website would be great! Thank you!!!!!!

weight loss cardiff answers:

I found this on Yahoo Health
I hope it helps

It is a time-honored tradition to make resolutions at this time of year. If your resolution is to lose weight – and keep it off, then keep reading! Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way.

1. Lose weight with water.
Water is essential for everybody – it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven’t been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.

2. Soup up your weight loss program.
A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don’t eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.

3. Eat early to keep weight off.
The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.
Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.
Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don’t last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function – not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

6. Walk off the weight.
The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

I hope this article helps you shed some pounds and add on the years! I invite you to visit often and share your own personal health and longevity tips with me.

May you live long, live strong, and live happy!

Loose Skin late 20s..weight loss plan?

Hi there…i’ve lost 15kg in my early twenties…and over the course of 6 years…I had some loose skin which over 3 months became tight

built it back up again…now i plan to go on an exercise regime…losing about 1-2kg a month…i’m prone to stretch marks…

i’m in my late 20s now just wondering if if the weight loss will cause loose skin on the tummy and more stretch marks…

weight loss cardiff answers:

At 2 Kg per moth you will have loose skin but at 1 Kg per month you may not.

At 20 you may be still growing so grow grace fully, acquire a hour glass shape or “V” strong tall body. You can add height till you are 30. So go swimming, do chin up, bicycle as much as you can and do stretch exercises. This will not give loose skin or stretch marks.

Follow this link:

Your weight should be per this site give or take 10 pounds.

Must drink 1 gallon of water per day.

Eat right, include all food groups per this site above. Do not exceed the total calories per day and eat at least 1500 calories per day every day. Must include some unsaturated fat, some fruits( has various type of sugar, minerals and fibbers), and lots of vegetables(has fibber, vitamins and minerals very low in calories and fills you up so you do not feel hungry, stops craving for sweet foods) , and some carbohydrates, but rest in proteins.

You must sleep up to 7 to 9 hours a day time permitting and including naps.

Go for a walk every day for 1 hour, around your residence, start slowly(5 minute), to warm up then increase the speed a little till you can maintain a good clip then slow down to cool off (5 minute before the end of 1 hour). Do the walking in one direction for about 30 minutes then return home, may take little longer (you are doing it 5 miles a day).

Or look up total body, weight free, free hand, exercises and do them for 1 hour every day. You find them in the library and on the Internet. They can be done at home does not need gym.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hi,

Intentional weight loss is a deliberate attempt to lose weight. Although there are many programmes to help lose weight, the only proven long-term and safe method is to burn more calories than are ingested. This is achieved either by reducing the caloric intake (eat less food or healthier food) or by increasing the energy expenditure (exercise more). Often, behaviour modification techniques like eating smaller portions are also used to help control eating habits. Once the weight is lost, these habits can be modified slightly for weight maintenance.

One pound of fat contains approximately 3,500 calories, so to lose one pound a week, a person should consume approximately 3,500 fewer calories per week. This can be done by reducing the daily intake by 500 calories per day (500 x 7 days will provide a deficit of 3,500 calories per week). To lose 2 pounds per week, a deficit of 1,000 calories per day is required. If this seems impossible, physical activity also contributes significantly to weight loss. The deficit of 500 to 1,000 calories can come from a combination of increased physical activity and reduced intake on a daily basis. Therefore, one does not need to experience significant food deprivation. The lowest intake per day recommended for females is 1,200 calories, unless they are in a medically-supervised, very low-calorie regimen which may have a daily level of 500 to 800 calories per day. The lowest level recommended for males is 1,500 calories per day. A very low-calorie diet can also be used by males if they are in a medically-supervised programme.

A key to weight maintenance and weight loss is to increase daily activity – things like taking the stairs, rather than the elevator or walking rather than driving when possible make a real difference.

Few tips to bring about weight loss as well as ensuring good health:

1.Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and grain products like wheat.

2.Increase the consumption of complex carbohydrates like whole wheat, millet (jowar) and barley (bajra)

3.Restrict refined products such as flour (maida) and its products such as bread, noodles, macaronis and pastas in regular diet

4.Restrict fat and cholesterol rich foods. Only non-vegetarian foods (like eggs and dairy products) are good sources of cholesterol, however saturated fatty acids present in butter, ghee, vanaspati and coconut get metabolised to cholesterol in our body

5.Reduce the amount of sugars consumed

6.Consume raw fruits and vegetables in form of salads and raitas in every meal. These provide adequate vitamins, minerals and fibre. Fibre is essential as it aids in digestion, has an effective role in managing obesity and cardiovascular problems

7.Limit salt intake

8.Have small portions of food at a time

9.Do not skip meals

10.Have regular meal timings

11.Do not eat while cooking and watching television

12.Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses) in a day

13.Exercise regularly. Do brisk walking at least for 20-40 minutes in a day
The best exercises that are sustainable and safe to loose weight are aerobic exercises. Aerobic exercises usually involve vigorous exercises sustained over a period of several minutes and their effect is to increase the efficiency of the lungs, heart and blood circulation, which are collectively known as the aerobic system. Short and sharp bursts of activity which rely on the body’s reserves of oxygen do not produce a similar improvement. Exercises should increase strength and mobility and also aid relaxation. You can choose walking, swimming, bicycling as per your fitness level and increase gradually. You should plan on 20-minute sessions at least 3 times per week. Gradual changes in eating habits will help encourage a permanent lifestyle change. A slow weight loss of 1 or 2 pounds a week, until the desirable body weight is reached, is best.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Lizzie asks…

What is the most effective OTC diet pill?

I am looking for an effective and fast-working diet pill that will aid me in my substantial weight loss plan. I was wondering if anyone in the vast cyberworld could aid me in finding an effective candidate. I would prefer if I did not get any responses that are not pertaining directly to what I am asking. (ie. “Just eat healthy and exercise” types).

weight loss cardiff answers:

I’ve tried almost all of them without any success, until I recently found Mega T green tea with hoodia pills. They really do work to help control appetite, without drugs or any jitters. I find I can still eat if I want to, but the intense cravings are just gone, and I do fine with my planned healthy low calorie eating plan. And the best part is that I only spend $4 for a 15 day supply of them from Walmart. Way better than the $20 and up for Trimspa, hydroxycut, Alli, etc.
I wouldn’t call them magic pills, I know that i have to do my part, but taking them makes it all a lot easier because I am satisfied with small portions, and those awful cravings are gone.

Betty asks…

What are some easy everyday things to burn belly fat without spending $?

Does anyone have helpful tips on posture, food, beverages, and everyday routines that could help with my weight loss? I do NOT want to spend any money unless its on reasonable items. (1. I wasn’t yelling with the all caps before, 2. please dont waste my time with diet plans!)

Thanks so much everyone!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hello Bonkers.

For any weight loss techniques eating enough healthy fats is very important for maintaining proper fat burning and muscle building hormone levels in your body. Adequate healthy fats in your diet also helps in keeping your appetite under control. Also avoid drinking beer and soda because it contains a large amount of sugar that can add to your problem in losing weight, it’s much better if you drink plenty of water.

Losing weight also involves different kinds of exercise. Like doing workouts, you can even do bicycle crunches on a weight bench this will help enhanced work in your stomach muscles. You can also do arms and legs exercises , using the arms and legs at the same time you get enhanced work in the muscles of your stomach, and by twisting you get increased work in your oblique muscles. All parts of your stomach are worked with this one exercise.

By doing this you will not spend any money in losing weight.

Hope this helps! If you need any more tips just contact me.

Maria asks…

Is liposuction the way to go for weight loss?

I’ve tried every weight loss program and I’m ready to try liposuction, what should I expect?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Good luck, if you plan on liposuction! I would never even think of it (but I’m completely terrified of needles). Here’s a page on the different procedures http://www.liposuction-costs.com/liposuction-procedure.html (ahhhhh). I’m a believer of hard work, and not taking the easy path to anything. Being committed to exercise just 3 times a week and sticking to low fat foods, I can’t see how anyone can’t lose weight. I lost 15 pounds in 6 months doing this. No pills, no depriving myself, no liposuction. Just treadmill or bike 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, and adjusted my eating habits a little. I would reward myself once every weekend with some kind of junk food (a chocolate bar, cheeseburger, milkshake…). Here’s another site that discusses natural weight loss http://www.analyzing-weight-loss.com/.
