Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

William asks…

What is the best way to loose weight?

Over the year, I gained some weight that I would like to loose. Ive been watching what I eat, when I eat it and such. Before I go to bed I do crunches, leg lifts and some other ab workouts. I have seen a little weight loss but only about a pound or two.

If someone can help me loose weight with advice from eatting to working out.

weight loss cardiff answers:

1 Dietary control and exercise. It’s true what they say – all you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. You can quit reading this list now, you now know everything you need to know and didn’t need to fork over $500 for the privilege of me telling you the secret of losing weight. You don’t need to read a 4,000 page book, you don’t have to buy a tape series, you don’t need to stay up late at night to watch infomercials to understand this basic premise. It’s 100% true.

2 Change your lifestyle. If you’re calling this a “diet,” then you’re going to gain all the weight back (and more) within a few months of losing it. Diets do not work. Diets are temporary. When you change your dietary lifestyle, however, you’re changing your habits – and you’re putting yourself on track for long-term / continued success and weight maintenance. Don’t ever tell anybody you’re on a diet – ever. I’m speaking from experience, here – a reformed low-carber. Worked out well for a while, but ultimately failed because my entire lifestyle didn’t change (permanently).

3 Join an online support group. In my case, I created my own – FatBlasters. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends (new or old) is typically a smart move. I just heard about PeetTrainer, but didn’t know about it when I began down the road to weight loss. You have to know that others are out there for moral support – they know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures – share them. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find the one that fits you.

4 Take before and after photos. I know it sucks to see yourself as a chunky monkey (sorry, that’s what I called myself – if only to get myself motivated to meet my weight loss goal). However, there’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. The “after” photos are far more fun to capture and share, admittedly. Find yourself on Flickr! It’s good to see yourself how others see you. Do you like how you look? In many ways, Flickr helped me lose weight.

5 Hire a substitute teacher. Don’t reach for the brands you know and love immediately – or without thinking first. Eggs are “good” for you, but consider using egg substitutes instead (in fact, many restaurants will let you order lower calorie foods). There are countless “lower” alternatives for you to try. If something different doesn’t taste good, by all means – find a better substitute, or eat less of the original. In some cases, the substitute may be worse for you than the regular version of the product. The good news is, healthier choices are silently replacing their “normal” counterparts – and they taste just as nice.

6 Start reading labels. I know it sucks, but you have to do it – and there’s no way to avoid this tip. If you don’t know what you’re putting in your mouth, you’re flying blind. Don’t assume, either – triple-check the ingredients list and serving sizes. You must rely on yourself for this; nobody else is going to be able to lose the weight or do the math for you. It’s not that complicated a task, but it will require effort. If nothing else, just pay attention to the calorie count.

7 What’s so funny about bovines? If you like cheese, you must buy the Laughing Cow brand, and keep several of the suckers in stock at all times. The individually-wrapped wedges make for excellent snacks, and are wonderful when melted over just about anything edible. I’d be careful about straight-up American cheese, though – it’s oil, but not necessarily as good for you as (say) a slice of cheddar would be. I have yet to find something as calorie-light and filling as Laughing Cow (I don’t know how they do it).

8 Tell your family. You’re not going to lose the weight alone, even if you ARE alone in losing the weight. If you’ve got a family at home, talk to them about it – initially, not incessantly. Let them know what you’re going to do, and that you want (and need) their support. If you don’t let them know, you’re running the risk of them inadvertently sabotaging your efforts. You want them to help you get to your goal(s). You want them to share in your happiness when you’ve made it past a certain mark. Who knows? Maybe some of your new habits will rub off on them and they’ll become healthier people, too?

The formula for losing weight is easy – eat less and workout more – the difficulties arise when we really try to put that into practice! There are a lot of temptations in the big wide world aren’t there?! I uncovered some excellent help by following the site in the box below, they have a lot of tips, I lost 8 pounds by doing as they advised.

Robert asks…

Please tell me if this is a good workout routine for weight loss.?

I am a female approximately 20 pounds overweight and just joined a gym. We don’t have any personal trainers around here (very small town) so I have a routine online. It consists of 30 minutes of cardio then stretching then a strength workout with weights (3 sets of 12-15 repititions). I have no idea how much I should be lifting or how often I should do this for weight loss. Can anyone help? Thanks.

weight loss cardiff answers:

It’s hard to say, but if you feel it burning…then it’s working.

Your workout plan sounds good and every now and then you’ll want to change it up. The combo of cardio and strength training will definitely get you to your goal.

Just make sure your strength workout is spaced out…for example don’t work every body part every day. One day work on chest & triceps….another day do back & biceps….etc. I’m sure your online routine breaks it down for you.

You sound like you’re on the right track. Just remember…if the weight feels to easy, then bump up the weight. You want it to burn ….your last set should really burn!

It’ll help if you have a buddy to workout with….it’s a good support system and you can push each other.

Good luck!!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Nancy asks…

Did I ruin my whole weight loss diet with this food..? I feel like crying please help and be honest?

Okay. So I’m 15, 5’3 and I started dieting when I am 120 lbs. I’ve been on a very good, healthy diet for about a week now, I probably have lost about 2 pounds. So I’m probably around 118 now?

Anyways. So I’ve been doing SO good. Today I went to my friends birthday party, not to mention it is the first day of my period (MASS CRAVINGS). She had SO MUCH GOOD FOOD! lol. She had stuff like chips and dip, burgers, fries, fruit salad, cake, cookies, brownies, etc.. ! Urgh!
As you know, I am on the first day of my period and my cramps were kinda bad. This also drove me to have really terrible cravings, to the point where I was obsessed with satisfying my cravings! I wanted it then and there. So, I gave in at the birthday party. I had about everything there. I’m planning to bounce back to my regular diet tommorrow, maybe start off kinda easy to get back into the groove. I was literally grazing on everything there. xD Will this make me gain a pound, even if I go back to my usual diet?
By the way, I am going to seriously be good about everything once I bounce back into the groove again. I just want to lose 10 lbs to get to 110 lbs. =/

Will this throw me off track?
Come on, you know how it is.. xD Your period can drive you nuts with cravings, especially with your favorite foods laid out in front of you! At parties, everyone eats and has a good time.. Which is what I did. ;_;

I CANT STOP EATING TODAY. IS THIS FROM MY PERIOD? UGHH!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Don’t stress about it. It was one day of binging.

And what is your weight loss goal? The healthy weight for you at your age and height is 115. Losing two pounds a week until you plateau is about right, but be wary of the scale, a normal person’s weight changes throughout the day depending on food and water weight, so expect to see fluctuation.

Way to be healthy, but you are already thin, so don’t get obsessed with it. You are allowed to have junk food, just do it spareingly. (Like only at parties!)

WEIGHT LOSS, easy fasy and effective.?

I’m about 5’3ft and 135lbs and I’m 15. Am I over weight, and will a water diet help lose weight and clean out my system?

David asks…

How to easily add variety in my diet?

I have trouble having a variety of food / meals in my diet. I seem to eat the same thing all the time and I feel it is unhealthy.

What is an easy way to introduce variety into a diet? I don’t mean a weight loss diet, I just mean a normal balanced diet.

weight loss cardiff answers:

I try to cook with fresh local ingredients if I can find them. When I go to the market (Currently Costa Rica), I buy lots of all sorts of things with no real plan on what I will be preparing.

Later on, I look at everything that I have, and wait for inspiration to strike.

This is by no means an economical way to shop, it can get pretty spendy depending on where you live. But buying single ingredients and then playing in the kitchen keeps my diet diverse, and cooking interesting.

For lunch yesterday I made roasted red peppers and onion with seared pork and pineapple. It was a departure on the Hawaiian thing. It was a nice snack.

I have no idea what I will eat today, I’m stocked to the rafters with everything I could find at the market. The other day I made a simple marinara with fresh basil, tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil, and then had mango crepes for desert. Those were just the ingredients that I felt like eating at the time.

Many times I do not see any protein that looks interesting, so I go nearly vegetarian for a week.

Anyhow, my advice is to buy the best ingredients that your pocketbook will allow you to get, and then figure out what to do with it later.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Ruth asks…

does anybody know of easy weight loss tips?

i was just wondering if anybody knows of good weight loss tips to lose about 20lbs or so. ive just recently heard that eating eggs for breakfast will help, is there any other ones like this?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Eat regularly

Most dieters think that by skipping meals they are going to lose weight quickly. NO! It doesn’t work like that. If you skip meals then your body starts to think there’s a famine coming, which means your body piles on the fat to survive the famine. Eat regular meals.

Don’t Deny Yourself

Many dieters will deny themselves anything naughty such as chocolate, cakes and so on. Trouble is, when you deny yourself something, you want it more. So instead CHOOSE not to have it, because then you are in control. Occasionally, you may choose to have it, which is great too.

Drink, drink, drink

And no, I don’t mean alcohol. I mean yummy, delicious water. Drink plenty of it as it will flush toxins from your system and help keep you healthy. The experts recommend that you should drink at least 2 liters (just over 4 pints) of water every single day. Avoid caffeinated drinks and fizzy soda’s as these don’t help quench your thirst or remove the toxins from your system.

Betty asks…

Weight loss tips on staying motivated?

I know this is asked ten thousand times, however, I am going to ask again.

Any good tips on CD’s or something that keeps the motivation up for weight loss? Or just motivation in general?

Thanks =0)

weight loss cardiff answers:

I know it’s so hard sometimes!

I keep ALL junk food OUT of the house. When I need motivation I watch stuff like the health channel or FIT TV or those shows about the 900 lb people. If they can lose the weight, so can I!!

Also, if you are feeling lazy and making excuses, just get up and GO to the gym. I always force myself to go and tell myself that even ten minutes is better than nothing…and usually once I get there it feels so much better when I get into a workout, I’m glad I did it!

Oh and finding a workout buddy works, do you have a friend who can help keep you on track? It always helps to get a partner in crime!

Good luck and keep at it girl!

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Daniel asks…

is giving up soda an easy weight loss plan?

my dad says if i gave up soda, i could loose a lot of weight (in a “long” period of time) so… if i gave up soda for like, 3 months, about how much would i loose?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Giving up soda is a great way to cut back.
Soda has a ton of sugar that clogs arteries and its just really bad for you. Its hard to say how much weight you will lose because every1’s body is different and I don’t know what other foods you eat….
But maybe a few pounds

Maria asks…

Why do people think that weight loss is easy? That they can pop a pill and never break a sweat?

Im so tired of peole whining that they want to lose weight, which pill should they take. The key to weight loss is diet and exercise. If you work out, great! You have to keep pushing yourself or you won’t get anywhere.I just don’t understand why people think that it’s going to be easy to burn calories.Fad diets don’t work and neither do pills. Is that really so hard to understand? You didn’t gain the weight overnight, you’re not going to lose it that way.Let’s also not forget that yo-yo dieting hurts your body in the long run.But that’s all for them to figure out.Let the pill-poppers have a heart attack when their heart rate gets up too high. They have been warned.
I know all the reasons people think it’s easy like tv ads and such. I just don’t understand the psychology behind it. Why are we programmed in this country to want everything RIGHT NOW? Anything worth having is worth fighting for, IMO.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hey hun….i think you have said whats been on a lot of peoples minds in this forum….i also think that a lot of people look at it as somethin’ like..oh i think im gonna loose some weight and see how fast it melts off…then get discouraged cause it doesn’t…i have learned from personal experience that weight loss is not just something to do for a few weeks and then drop it….its a commitment…even if you ever get to your idea body style then you have to keep working to stay there…it takes years of hard work sweat and sacrifice to get in great physical shape…there is no need in pills or creams or even low carb diets because your body will loose the weight if you will feed it right and get off your butt….in other words getting fit is NOT for the faint of heart….love daisy
