What I find when trying to tone up is that the amount of calories doesn’t matter as much as what the calories are made up of. Like if you eat 1000 calories of vegetables, that’s much better for you than 1000 calories of junk food. However, if you’re eating 3000 calories a day, you’ll probably want to cut it back maybe 500 calories. Look at this website: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/estimated-calorie-requirement. It says you need about 2500 a day, however that is if you want to maintain your weight. So try 2000-2200 a day, and you’ll be able to tell if you need more or less. Try to lift weights 4 times a week, and exercise as much as possible. You’ll probably lose your water weight pretty quickly, but then it will take awhile, because if you’re losing fat and gaining muscle, your weight might not change, but you will still look and feel better.

I am obese, I need to lose 90 pounds. I’ve lost 5 pounds which seems small but it’s a big start for me. I want to really change my life. I can’t afford to go to a gym, and I tried running outside but I ran out of breath within the first few minutes. What are some good ways to lose weight by walking/running outside in the cold? also, how can i control my breathing??

Start breathing through your mouth for starters and second…running in the cold in horrible for your health! It’s bad bad your lungs. Also running in extreme heat is bad for you as well. However, people still do it.

Start out slowly, try jogging for a few minutes and then walking for a minutes and then each time you start jogging try jogging faster and do this for about 30 minutes. But every time you jog for a few minutes walk for a minute.

But make sure you breath through your mouth.

It is a time-honored tradition to make resolutions at this time of year. If your resolution is to lose weight – and keep it off, then keep reading! Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way.

1. Lose weight with water.
Water is essential for everybody – it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven’t been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.

2. Soup up your weight loss program.
A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don’t eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.

3. Eat early to keep weight off.
The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.
Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.
Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don’t last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function – not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

6. Walk off the weight.
The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

You can EASILY lose 5 pounds in a week with this plan, this is what you got to do:

1) Eat ANY kind of food that are low or very low in Calories, Sodium, Carbs, and Fat, and if you really serious, low in Sugar too, ALL at once, don’t just look for 1 or 2 of these things, you have to know all the nutrition of the food you eat from now on. If your totally serious about weight loss, only eat bread for breakfast, (High fiber bread) and thats it for the rest of the day.

2) Drink lots of water, That’s horrible to read I know, I hate it too cause I see it all the time, BUT, you need to do it because then you get rid of your water weight problem and then the weight you lose you KNOW is not water, but fat, thats what you want.

3) You want to stay away from Sodium because that will store water and really make you gain water weight, so low sodium always and never add salt to the food you eat.

4) NO SODA! Not even diet, if you HAVE to drink soda then fine drink diet, but look at the label even diet soda’s have sodium and if your putting down a lot of soda then your drinking lots of sodium (WATER WEIGHT!)

5) Eat at least 4 mini meals a day, 2-3 hours apart. If you can find a appetite supplement that WORKS for you, then awesome, if not water will do just fine, just drink a lot and make sure its cold water. You’ll have to piss all the freakin’ time but thats good, your getting rid of excess water, thats what you want, trust me.

6) Eat no later then 8 pm. If possible, 7 pm would be even better. It’s OK to feel a little hungry before you go to bed.

7) Include exercise, nothing really extreme. For example, walk up the steepest hill you know of 4 times and if you can jog it. Have a mini trampoline? Jump high on it while watching your favortie tv show. OR just stay active in whatever you do. Have to buy groceries or your craving a jamba juice, then WALK there! Walk everywhere, jog there, just stay active, that works too.

Stick with this and you’ll definetly lose 5 pounds if not more. Probably more.

im just wondering how come the weight came off so easily? it took only 3 days to lose 1.5kgs…i know its not that healthy to lose weight this fast, but still…. is this actual fat lost or is it water weight or…?

At your age its fine to loose weight because you are active.that might be fat lost and it depends do you take regular walks ? That can be one of the reasons if the answer is yes .i don’t think if there is any reason to be alarmed.

I’m 15 and all my life I have been stick thin and I have been able to eat what I want without gaining weight. This year I have gained a few pounds and I’m starting to feel insecure about it. I wear a size 3 or 5 in juniors now (They don’t make a 4) (it goes like 0,3,5). Most of my family members naturally thin too. My dad is 5’10 and weight 130 pounds. I weigh like 126 now. You have to start exercising if you really want to lose weight.

For the diet, cut down on meat, but only eat lean meat, fish, and lots of greens.
Fruits and veggies are a good source of vitamins! Try to stay away from the junk food, keep it somewhere you do not want to go. I promise you, if you keep this up, you will start seeing your body change.
It depends how much weight you are to lose, if you slack off on a lot of exercising, you might only lose a pound or two. But if you really stay focused and do the job, you will be losing much more weight!

To lose the weight, you need to eat less calories and start exercising. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF!!!
For exercise, do three to four sessions a week, 20 minutes at a time, of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. Swimming, hiking, and taking aerobics classes are beneficial as well.

Nothing beats jogging or running. It’s the most intense, efficient, and effective method of burning calories. If running outside hurts your joints, try running inside on a treadmill or outside on a dirt path.

Again, you NEED three to four intense cardio sessions a week, at least 20 minutes a session, to help create a calorie deficit and help rid the body of the fat.

Also do at least ten minutes a day of strength training.

In terms of diet, you need to have 50 percent of your calories come from protein, 40 percent carbs, 10 percent fats. Cut calories gradually.

Oh no, I don’t know why they’d order you a dress that doesn’t fit. Well, you can’t lose weight and inches that quickly. If you HAVE to do something, drink plenty of water, exercise a lot, and eat accordingly throughout the week. But, to lose weight quick, don’t eat excess carbs, eat as little fat as possible but eat plenty of lean meat and vegetables. I don’t like to suggest this, and this is for emergency only, because it will come back, but you can Do a lot of cardio in a sweat suit the day before and you’ll lose water weight that might be enough to zip up the dress. For the future, don’t do that but if it’s your last hope, than its your call. After the wedding just strength train to build muscle and tone and do cardio when ever you can, eat healthy so you don’t experience this in the future 🙂
