Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Charles asks…

how can a teenager loose weight?

hey guys

so ye, im 14 and i desperately wana loose weight and heres why. i just started surfing and i am obsessed with it, now with surfing you have to wear a wetsuit and wetsuits have to be a snug fit so basically skin tight and because im fat it shows my flab so easily and i really dont like it.

so my question is how can a teenager lose weight, but first a little background about my weight and what it is caused by.

first of all, exercise is fine, i do at least 30 mins of cycling every single day on its own and i also walk placed, go on the trampoline and obviously surf. so exercise is pretty good. my problem is food. my problem isnt really controlling the small sizes and eating the right food like i eat alot of fish, meat, pasta, rice ect. but i have a MASSIVE sweet tooth, im not even joking. like i could eat nothing but sweets for the rest of my life. not only the fact i have a big sweet tooth but i am also addicted to sweets. i am also addicted to coke (coca cola) and fizzy drinks. and i drink at least 2 cans every day wich i know is not good. ive tried gradually cutting down on coke if tried going cold turkey. nothing has worked.

so, can anyone help me learn how to control my obsession with sweets and coke and give them up. i would rather not have to go to the doctor or the gym but if i HAVE to then i guess i will.

THANKS!

weight loss cardiff answers:

First thing to do is speak to your Doctor, at your age and with a developing body you should be careful with any diet.
I don’t think that diet or exercise is your problem, it’s the sweets. So you have got to ween yourself of them.
Coke and fizzy drinks come in a diet option. Cut up loads of carrots / celery / tomatoes and get some homos and Taramasalata, every time you want a sweet try eating some of that, before too long you will find that your sweet tooth is turning savoury.
If you want an incentive then think of your teeth, it is going to cost you a fortune ti fix all those cavities, not to mention the discomfort and a toothless surfer ain’t pretty.

Mark asks…

Why can’t I lose weight?

I’m about 5 foot 4 and I weight 120 lbs.
Now this isn’t that bad (it’s actually healthy on the BMI) BUT I’m a teenager under tons of peer pressure and I really want to get to 110 ~ 115 by summer >_<

Now, my problem is that I used to weight 130lbs and so I started running and eating healthy so I lost 10 lbs quite easily ;D
But then it suddenly stopped working. I stopped losing weight. This may be because my metabolism matched my daily calorie loss, but if so, what can I do? I even tried a super diet but it did NOTHING >:[

Please help, any advice would be fine. (Btw I’m drinking 8~12 cups of water/day if that helps)
Edit: I quit drinking soda from a few months ago and as for Juice I have to drink a lot of OJ w/ calcium since I’m lactose intolerant :[
But these days I started drinking 8~12 glasses of pure water ^^

weight loss cardiff answers:

12 glasses of water is probably unneeded. Especially if you drink a lot of juice to begin with. Make sure you are drinking water because you are either eating, exercising, or thirsty. Not just to drink it.

Take a close look at your eating habits. It may be fairly healthy, but if you still have that doughnut or danish every couple of days, substituting it with fresh fruit and a little whipped topping will likely save you an extra 1000 calories a week. Also, make sure you refrain from eating 3 hours before you go to sleep.

Incorporate new exercises into your routine. Running will only do so much. Full body cardio and light weight routines will help get rid of extra fat. Swimming is also very good Also, be sure to change your workout routine every month. Otherwise your body will reach a roadblock.

Don’t rely on any kind of diet pills or miracle shakes.

Hope that helps. Good luck. 🙂

Michael asks…

Do I have to lose weight?

I’m a teenager, 130 pounds or so and Im working out at home and in the gym doing crunches, benching etc. One thing I’ve noticed is that after some time, you could barely see my abs but I know they’re there cause if I pulled some of the skin on the bottom of my stomach down you could see them. I think I’m a little bit overweight and a lot of it is mainly fat =. How much weight do I have to lose to make my abs noticeable and make me healthy.(I get shortness of breath easily when working out)

weight loss cardiff answers:

You seem fine!!!
The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did….lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won’t help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don’t eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i’m going pretty well if i don’t say myself. 90 LBS isn’t anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice. If you want anymore details, feel free to email me. Just please be patient for ppl seem to email me for advice on this, I will reply, don’t worry! ~Adia

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Donald asks…

How is it possible to eat low sodium and low sugar diets?

I can get a handle on the low calorie diets, there are plenty of good meals I can make that are low calorie.

But now all the science is saying diets should be low sugar and low sodium. What the heck am I supposed to cook that falls in this range now? I have no idea what to even buy at the grocery store to avoid BOTH sugar and sodium.

Any ideas of some good uncomplicated meals that are not just salad after salad and/or just skinless chicken breast.
what are pilipino foods?

weight loss cardiff answers:

All you need to do is to eat pilipino foods…pilipino foods are very delicious than any other food

Joseph asks…

What diets have actually worked for you?

I’m a firm believer in not just dieting but creating a healthy lifestyle, something that a person can stick to. With that being said, what diets have worked for you? Have you stuck to them and made them apart of your lifestyle or did you just diet short term?

weight loss cardiff answers:

I think I’ve tried to lose weight with all sorts of diets such as the soup diet and shakes, and also eating under a dangerous 600 calories or skipping meals which was all out of desperation. I finally took the time to feed some knowledge into my head on healthy eating and excercising and soon realised that commitment was all that it took to make ones success. I cut out late night snacking and watched my food portions. It depends on every individual and their obstacles.

I lost over 35 lbs from including lots of physical activity into my daily routines and watching what I put in my mouth. Now and again I will eat at fast food places or treat myself to ice cream but it’s not as much as I used to before. Today I’m still kicking near a 40 lb loss and plan to practice healthy eating and excercise for the rest of my life… Or else it wouldn’t be a ‘lifestyle change’ 🙂

What would ySometimes people with low iron in their diets develope a condition where blood does not c?

Sometimes people with low iron in their diets develope a condition in which their blood does not contain the normal amount of oxygen. Explain why this is so.

weight loss cardiff answers:

Loosely speaking, iron helps in transporting oxygen in the blood. Without iron, efficiency of blood to carry oxygen is greatly reduced, called anemia.

Your Question About Easy Weight Loss

Maria asks…

What do you think about weight loss pills?

Who is for and who is against weight loss pills? I`m doing some sort of a survey among you people so I can decide whether I will take some weight loss pills in order to lose almost 30 pounds or not. If you don`t agree to weight loss drugs, what else besides eating vegetables do you suggest?

weight loss cardiff answers:

Hello! I don`t agree to weight loss pills. I believe you must lose weight the same way you gained weight.. The best way to lose weight is the healthy way. Just keep your calorie intake under control and things will work out great! I work a lot so I use an online diet and workout planner to count my calories. There`s a good one at http://www.projectweightloss.com/, and it’s free. In case you`re interested in losing weight the “usual” way, that’s a great choice. In my opinion, this is the safest and healthiest way to stay in shape.

Daniel asks…

What are the risks of taking weight loss pills?

I’ve been trying to lose weight recently. I’ve been really healthy, drinking a lot of water, eating healthy and doing excercise, but my weight never goes down it just stays the same. So i considered weight loss pills. Is it true that after you stop taking them you’ll put on weight like crazy? Are they bad for you? I just want to know if its true that you gain weight when you stop taking them, as i dont want to be taking them for the rest of my life. Any info on this would be great. Thanks!

weight loss cardiff answers:

Percent of body fat is more important, not weight. If weight was more important then most bodybuilders would be considered overweight. Weight loss pills usually dont work and if they do they arent good for the heart and more than likely you will gain all that weight back when off the pills…

Michael asks…

What weight loss pills work that are sold at walmart for men?

What are some good weight loss pills that are sold at walmart or places like cvs walgreens kmart for men that help loose weight (researching for a friend)

weight loss cardiff answers:

Weight loss pills don’t work. They just suppress appetite and pack you full of caffeine. The best way to lose weight is through diet & exercise alone, there are no shortcuts.
